Abstract: A ferrite magnet with salt includes 40 to 99.9 weight % of ferrite and 0.1 to 60 weight % of salt, wherein the salt has a melting point lower than a synthetic temperature of the ferrite, and the salt is melted to form a matrix between the ferrite particles, and a manufacturing thereof. The ferrite magnet with salt has advantages in terms of process conditions due to fast synthesis reaction at low temperatures compared to typical magnets, easily obtaining nano-sized particles having high crystallinity, preventing cohesion between particles and particle growth by molten salt, allowing sintering at temperatures lower than typical during the molding and sintering processes for producing a ferrite magnet with salt due to synthesized ferrite magnetic powder with salt thus preventing the deterioration of magnetic characteristics due to particle growth, and allowing alignment in the direction of magnetization easy axis to obtain higher magnetic characteristics.

Abstract: A new adsorbent CO2-ONE for removal of acidic gases such as carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide was developed from hydrothermal reaction of natural limestone with natural kaolin via sodium hydroxide. Several synthesis conditions were employed such as initial concentration of NaOH, weight ratio of limestone to kaolin, reaction temperature and pressure. The produced Ca—Na—SiO2—Al2O3 samples were characterized using XRD and EDS and showed that a mixture of Gehlenite Ca2Al(A1.22Si0.78O6.78)OH0.22 and Stilbite Na5.76Ca4.96(Al15.68Si56.32O144) with percentage of 43 and 57 was successfully produced, respectively. Another produced sample showed the presence of Gehlenite Ca2Al(Al1.22Si0.78O6.78)OH0.22, Stilbite Na5.76Ca4.96(Al15.68Si56.32O144) and Lawsonite CaAl2Si2O7OH2(H2O) with percentage of 4.1 and 7.4 and 88, respectively.

Abstract: An imaging system uses polarized light to illuminate the target and then uses a polarization filter to remove the light that is reflected from the target without modification. The target can include one or more anisotropic objects that scatter the light and alter the polarization state of the reflected light and causing it to be selectively transmitted to the imaging device which can record the transmitted light through the filter. The illuminating light can be circularly polarized and the filter can remove the circularly polarized light. The target can include asymmetric nanoparticles, such as nanorods that alter the amplitude or phase of the scattered light enabling pass through the filter to be detected by the imaging device.
