Abstract: An electric outlet fire detection and prevention system may comprise a temperature sensor and an electromagnetic interference (EMI) sensor. A processor within the system may monitor the measurements of the temperature and EMI sensors to determine that a fire has developed in an electric outlet box. The processor may then actuate a triggering mechanism in a cartridge containing fire extinguishing material such that the fire extinguishing material is dispersed in the outlet box. The fire extinguishing material may extinguish a developing fire and prevent the fire from spreading further. The processor may also be coupled with a server, which is configured to analyze measurements of the temperature and the EMI sensors and generate a building profile. When the server determines that any measurements deviate from the building profile, the server may instruct the processor to actuate the triggering mechanism and/or notify an electronic device associated with the building.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes identifying behavioral characteristics of a user related to operation of a computing device prior to an online account session. The method includes comparing the behavioral characteristics to a behavioral profile previously developed based on prior behavioral characteristics of the user, and determining an appropriate mark difficulty level based on a variation between the behavioral characteristics and the behavioral profile. The method includes selecting, from a plurality of prompts stored in a prompt database, a prompt that comprises instructions to draw a mark having the appropriate mark difficulty level, where other prompts of the plurality of prompts comprise instructions to draw other marks different from the mark, and providing the prompt to the user as part of a logon process for the online account session.

Abstract: A system and method for making a call to a service provider on behalf of a user is disclosed. The system and method include using an intelligent voice assistant to call the service provider and having the intelligent voice assistant navigate an interactive voice response system to reach a representative. The system and method also include using the intelligent voice assistant to reconnect a user with a representative after an interrupted call.

Abstract: Technology for determining a queue position of a call from a user can include receiving, at an enterprise, the call from a user device associated with the user. The user device includes an application associated with the enterprise. The call is placed into an on-hold queue. A weighted level of importance associated with the call is determined based on call history information associated with the user device and call frequency associated with the user. The weighted level of importance is compared to at least one weight threshold. A wait time for the call is decreased based on the weighted level of importance meeting or exceeding the at least one weight threshold.

Abstract: When a customer service representative (CSR) calls a customer, the customer may be able to authenticate himself or herself by providing the CSR with personal identifying information. However, the CSR may be unable to provide information to authenticate himself or herself to the customer. Thus, this patent document describes authentication techniques that can allow the CSR to authenticate himself or herself to the customer. For example, before or during a call that the second person (e.g., CSR) initiates to call a first person (e.g., customer), a notification message may be sent to the first person's user device. The content of notification message displayed on the user device may provide information to the first person which can allow the first person to determine whether the second person is trustworthy.

Abstract: The disclosure describes techniques to protect personal information stored on an electronic card with which an owner of the electronic card may be authorized to perform a transaction. For example, a point-of-sale (POS) device may receive protected data generated by an electronic card where the protected data may be used by a personal information server to identify the owner of the electronic card. The POS devices sends the protected data and transaction information to an authorization server that sends the protected data to a personal information server. The owner's personal information can be obtained or derived from the protected data by the personal information server and the personal information is sent to the authorization server. The authorization server can determine whether a transaction is authorized or unauthorized based on the transaction information obtained from the POS device and the personal information obtained from the personal information server.

Abstract: A system and methods for leveraging a community of users to collaboratively identify bank or investment account transaction descriptions by providing common, more recognizable description, category and location information used most often by the community. A database may be maintained that is accessible by the customer/user community to view, update and provide understandable descriptions for such cryptic descriptions. The database may be searchable such that a customer/user may search a description to determine or update the source of the transaction.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes systems and methods for facilitating management of information related to electronic transactions. More specifically, the methods and systems discussed herein related to electronic transaction verification techniques that employ distributed computation methods, such as blockchains, to store transactional data for various web-based interactions, and to verify a transaction source and generate customer offers for these transactions.

Abstract: Techniques are described for providing a simultaneous, multi-device user experience that employs computing devices with varying capabilities for data input and/or data output, using a microservice-based architecture. A user may register multiple devices with a service, which determines capabilities of the devices for data input and/or output. During a communication session involving the user and another user, such as a service representative, the service may receive input data collected through device(s) and/or provide output data to be presented on the same or other device(s), where such data input and data output is received and provided according to the input/output capabilities of the various devices. The data input and/or output may switch from device to device during a session. In some instances, data may be replicated for presentation through multiple devices simultaneously. Interactions with each device may be through a microservice that is associated with the device and/or its device type.

Abstract: A data acquisition system of a vehicle includes an image capture device, a communication interface, and a controller communicatively coupled to the image capture device and communicatively coupled to the communication interface. Processors of the controller are configured to calibrate an image-distance relationship value of an identified component of a first image captured by the image capture device corresponding to a known feature based on established metrics of the known feature. The processors are also configured to provide control of the vehicle or activation of an alert system of the vehicle via the communication interface based on the image-distance relationship value.

Abstract: The technology described includes a physical, connected device/button, that when pressed or clicked, causes money to be transferred according to a set of rules (i.e., a “one-click” transfer of funds). In some embodiments, each click can cause a small, pre-set increment of money to be transferred from a user's checking account to the user's savings account. In other embodiments, the user can hold the button down for a longer period of time, indicating a request for a larger amount of money to be transferred.

Abstract: A computer system includes a memory configured to store instructions and a processor in communication with the memory. The processor upon execution of the instructions effectuates operations configured to prompt a user to select, via a graphical user interface, at least one selected component of a vehicle and provide a plurality of component types compatible with the selected component, the plurality of component types including a custom component type. The operations are further configured to prompt the user to select a custom component type from the plurality of component types for the selected component, generate a customized image including the custom component type based on an initial image and the custom component type, provide the customized image to a user, determine a premium associated with an insurance policy covering the vehicle, wherein the premium is based on the custom component type, and provide the premium to the user.

Abstract: A system may include a processor that may detect one or more loan indicators present in banking data or credit data associated with a user. The processor may then retrieve additional data associated with the user in response to detecting the one or more loan indicators, such that the additional data may include data acquired from a home assistant device, a wearable device, a computing device, or any combination thereof. The processor may then determine a loan probability associated with the user based on the banking data, the credit data, and the additional data. The processor may then determine a pre-approval loan amount based on the banking data and the credit data in response to the loan probability exceeding a threshold and automatically send a notification indicative of a pre-approval loan amount to a computing device associated with the user.

Abstract: Systems and methods receive vehicle operating information from an onboard vehicle system, wherein the vehicle operating information includes data indicative of a first amount of time an operator is in active control of the vehicle to the system during a period, and wherein the vehicle operating information includes data indicative of a second amount of time that the vehicle operates autonomously during the period. The systems and methods thereafter calculate an insurance rate for a subsequent period based on both the first amount of time the vehicle operator is in active control of the vehicle and the second amount of time the vehicle is operated autonomously.

Abstract: Machine learning technology can analyze in real-time the data from a call between a person and a customer service representative. Based on this analysis, a server can determine a sentiment score that describes a sentiment expressed by the person or the customer service representative. If the server determines that the sentiment score is less than or equal to a pre-determined value, the server can inform the customer service representative's manager so that the manager can take further action to help the person and/or the customer service representative.

Abstract: A method of inferring the GPS location of a device with a GPS receiver is disclosed. The method includes using signals from two GPS satellites to determine two candidate GPS locations. Geographic information can be used to estimate the probability that the device is at each location. If one of the two candidate GPS locations has a substantially higher probability of being the correct location, that location may be selected as the inferred GPS location. The method may also include making use of additional sensed data that could be provided using sensors onboard the device.

Abstract: A method and system of securely enrolling delegates with an account management service so that the delegates can manage access to funds on behalf of a primary account holder is disclosed. The method and system include generating new profiles for proposed delegates, setting delegate approval policies, ensuring a sufficient number of delegates have been selected, and confirming the identity of each delegate.

Abstract: The embodiments provide a system and method for continuously updating a target repository to include both the latest data and corrected historical data. The system includes a data manager and at least two staging repositories. Each time the system retrieves the latest data from the source repository it also retrieves a portion historical data. Both the latest data and the historical data are transformed, and the historical portion of the transformed data is compared with corresponding data from the target repository to determine if there are any defects in the data from the target repository. The target repository is automatically updated if a defect is detected.
