  • Publication number: 20110279201
Abstract: The invention relates to temperature compensated micro-electro-mechanical (MEMS) resonators (300) preferably made of silicon. Prior art MEMS resonators have a significant temperature coefficient of resonance frequency, whereby it is difficult to achieve a sufficiently good frequency stability. The inventive MEMS resonator has a resonance plate (310) which resonates in Lamé mode. The resonance plate is p+ doped material, such as silicon doped with boron, and the concentration of the p+ doping is such that the plate has a temperature coefficient of resonance frequency near to zero. The tensile stress and the second order temperature coefficient can further be reduced by doping the plate with germanium.

  • Patent number: 7936464
Abstract: An optical radiation processing unit directs different wavelengths of the optical radiation emitted by an optical source to an object being measured from a direction that differs from the normal of a surface being measured so that the different wavelengths focus on different heights in the direction of the normal of the surface. A possible polarizer polarizes the reflected radiation in a direction perpendicular to the normal of the surface. The optical radiation processing unit directs to a detector polarized optical radiation that received from the object. The signal processing unit determines on the basis of a signal provided by the detector from the detected radiation the wavelength on which radiation is the highest, and determines the location of the surface by the determined wavelength. When measuring an object from both sides, the thickness of the object being measured is determinable using the locations of the surfaces.

  • Patent number: 7932378
Abstract: A process for manufacturing transglycosylation products. According to the process, a starch derivative is reacted at acidic conditions with an alkanol containing 1-6 hydroxyl groups and the reaction product is recovered as such or it is subjected to further processing. According to the method, the transglycosylation reaction between the starch derivatives and the alkanol is carried out in a reactive extrusion process, whereby the reaction can essentially be performed in the absence of liquid media at high yield. The invention also relates to new transglycosylation products of starch derivative, containing anions derived from a phosphorus-containing acid, which are chemically bonded to the product.

  • Publication number: 20110044002
Abstract: In the method according to the invention, the discrete electric component to be cooled is connected to the cooling element without a circuit board or substrate. In the method, a layer of insulating material is thermally sprayed on one surface of the cooling element. The connection points and conductors required by the discrete electric component are formed on top of this insulating layer. The discrete electric component is glued onto the insulating layer. Subsequently, the electrical connections for the discrete component are made. After the discrete component has been electrically connected, it can still be protected using a layer of thermally sprayed insulating material.
