According to the present invention, the spray blocking object is a strip (18, 26, 29), the cross-sectional profile of the strip being fully open in the direction of an axis (a) in a cross-sectional plane of the strip, and the strip is placed on the already deposited layer (8, 19, 24) with said axis directed substantially parallel to the direction of the incident metal spray (6).
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an acceleration sensor. In the method, thin SOI-wafer structures are used, in which grooves are etched, the walls of which are oxidized. A thick layer of electrode material, covering all other material, is grown on top of the structures, after which the surface is ground and polished chemo-mechanically, thin release holes are etched in the structure, structural patterns are formed, and finally etching using a hydrofluoric acid solution is performed to release the structures intended to move and to open a capacitive gap.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for determining the topography or optical properties of a moving subject. In the method at least two images (KX1, KX2, KX3) and (KY1, KY2, KY3) of a moving subject (X) and a reference area (Y) in its immediate vicinity are taken synchronously at different moments in time, in such a way that, in each of the images taken of the subject (X), the subject (X) is illuminated mutually essentially in different ways, for example, by illuminating the subject in different ways through patterned masks, for example sine-patterned masks, and, in the images taken of the reference area (Y) in the vicinity of the subject (X), the reference area (Y) is illuminated in mutually essentially the same way, for example, through an unpatterned mask.
Abstract: A fungal microorganism can be engineered by means of genetic engineering to utilise L-arabinose. The genes of the L-arabinose pathway, which were unknown, i.e. L-arabinitol 4-dehydrogenase and L-xylulose reductase, were identified. These genes, together with the known genes of the L-arabinose pathway, form a functional pathway. This pathway can be introduced to a fungus, which is completely or partially lacking this pathway.
