Abstract: A computing device displays a multi-button menu icon and a group of application icons associated with one of the buttons of the multi-button menu icon. User input is received to activate the multi-button menu icon and to identify a first button of the multi-button menu icon associated with a location of the user input. A group of application icons, associated with the identified first button of the multi-button menu icon, is displayed. A second button of the multi-button menu icon is identified based on a changed location of the user input, and a different group of application icons associated with the identified second button are displayed. The multi-button menu icon is deactivated upon removal of the user input, allowing one of the application icons to be selected with a second user input.

Abstract: A system and method for comparative analysis of tickets and/or dispatches including a receiver, at a baseline engine, configured to receive data associated with at least one of a product and a service corresponding to one or more tickets or dispatches, a processor, at the baseline engine, configured to generate baseline information based on the data, wherein the baseline information represents a comparative analysis of the at least one of a product and a service, and a transmitter, at the baseline engine, configured to transmit the baseline information to an output device for assessing the at least one product and service.

Abstract: A device, connected to a video display device, may receive a media stream that includes a video signal associated with a video program and program meta-data associated with the video program. The device may parse the media stream to extract the program meta-data, identify a keyword based on the program meta-data, obtain information from a search performed using the keyword, create a snippet of information from the obtained information, and present the snippet and the video program to the video display device, where the snippet and the video program are concurrently presented on the video display device.

Abstract: An approach is provided for the real-time creation of a menu of chapters for navigating a video program. The chaptering process creates at a dynamic chapter navigation menu that enables a user to precisely navigate within a video program by recursively creating chaptering points of finer temporal granularity for selecting a desired point within the video program.

Abstract: A system and method for analyzing tickets including an input configured to receive data associated with one or more tickets, one or more modules configured to analyze the received data, and an output configured to output the processed data. Each of the one or more tickets may be associated to at least one issue associated with at least one of a product and service. Analyzing the received data may include calibrating the one or more modules based on the received data and processing the data based on the calibration. The output may output the processed data for optimizing the at least one product and service and/or transmit the processed data into the input for further analysis at the one or more modules.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments include methods and systems for monitoring and analyzing tickets including collecting data associated with one or more parameters/keywords of tickets. Abstract: A system may store program information associated with a group of video programs. The program information may include a program description associated with a particular video program of the group of video programs. The system may receive an instruction to provide the program description, read the program description in response to the received instruction, obtain an advertisement that is related to a content of the particular video program, and present the program description and the advertisement to a video display device, where the advertisement is presented adjacent to the program description on a screen of the video display device.

Abstract: An approach is provided for the creation of a media playlist for managing and scheduling content from a variety of media sources including broadcast and online sources. The playlist creation process facilitates efficient resolution of media scheduling conflicts by automatically identifying conflicts and generating alternate playlists to overcome them. The approach also enables a user to share the media playlist seamlessly with other devices and users.

Abstract: A virtual keyboard may be created on the display screen or soft input panel of a portable electronic device. The virtual keyboard may be created such that it is larger than the screen size of the portable electronic device. The virtual keyboard may be moved or slid across the screen to gain access to the keys thereon. Movement of the portable electronic device may be used to cause a corresponding movement of the virtual keyboard. The movement of the portable electronic device may be measured through the use of accelerometer data. The virtual keyboard may be configured by the user of the portable electronic device.

Abstract: Techniques for providing a method and system for trunk independent gateway transfer of calls are disclosed. In one particular exemplary embodiment, the techniques may be realized as a computer implemented method, comprising receiving a call transfer request for a call at a gateway and determining, using a processor of the gateway, whether a trunk to be used for transferring the call requires a transfer command. In the event the trunk requires transfer command, the techniques comprise generating a transfer command, and transferring the call using the transfer command.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments may provide a computer implemented system and method that may integrate both sales and service functions of a customer service representative on a desktop user interface. A comprehensive set of customer service goals derived from a large sample of actual customer calls may be empirically identified. Desired customer sales goals may be integrated into the comprehensive list of service goals. The integrated set of service and sales goals may be presented in a user interface. A recommendation engine, to present in highlighted form, which subset of goals a customer service representative should pursue with a given customer, when to pursue them, and for how long, may be incorporated. A delineation of a step-by-step process (using “wizards” or “assistants”) may be provided for each goal.

Abstract: A method may include receiving, from a first user device associated with a user profile, a first request for a media file and streaming the media file over a network to the first user device in a first format appropriate for the first device. The method may also include stopping the streaming of the media file and associating a stop time with the stopping, wherein the stop time indicates a position in the media file and receiving, from a second user device different from the first user device, a second request for the media file, the second user device being associated with the user profile. The method may also include streaming, starting at the stop time, the media file over the network to the second user device in a second format appropriate for the second device and different than the first format.
