Abstract: An approach for cloud provisioning of consumer services based on requested services. The approach uses customer request for services and current network utilization patterns to most efficiently and effectively provision network resources. For example, a network manager establishes one or more terms for a cloud provider based on one or more provider network provisions. The network manager further determines a customer profile subscription based on customer credentials, cloud provider credentials, and a combination thereof. Then, the network manager delivers one or more credentials based on the cloud provider, and generates a routing path to the cloud provider based on the subscription and/or service request.

Abstract: A method performed by a base station in a network, includes detecting a malfunction associated with a backhaul link to the network; identifying one or more neighboring base stations located within a transmission range of the base station; selecting at least one of the one or more neighboring base stations based on one or more parameters, associated with the one or more neighboring base stations, in response to detecting the malfunction; receiving, by a radio frequency (RF) transceiver associated with the base station, a signal from a user equipment; and transmitting, by an RF transceiver associated with the base station, the signal to the selected at least one of the one or more neighboring base stations.

Abstract: A user device (e.g., a smart phone) may dynamically manage photographs, videos, and other types of media content. The user device may receive media content by taking photographs, recording videos, and/or recording audio inputs. The user device may also receive media content in email messages, text message, download, etc. The user device may determine the value of the media content based on factors, such as the quality of the media content, the time and location associated with the media content, the actual content (e.g., people, landscapes, etc.) of the media content, etc. The user device may also determine a storage strategy based on the value of the media content and proceed to execute the storage strategy. For instance, the user device may store the media content locally, upload the media content to a cloud storage system, or delete the media content from a local storage of the user device.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide to store packet data network (PDN) connection data pertaining to a user equipment connected to a network; store locale-to-packet data network gateway (PGW) data, wherein the locale-to-PGW data includes mappings between locales and PGWs to be used when the user equipment is located in the locales; receive a locale update pertaining to the user equipment; query the locale-to-PGW data in response to the locale update; determine, based on a result of the query, whether the user equipment is to be re-anchored to a different PGW than a PGW to which the user equipment is currently anchored; invoke a re-anchoring procedure, in response to a determination that the user equipment is to be re-anchored to the different PGW; and omit to invoke the re-anchoring procedure, in response to a determination that the user equipment is not to be re-anchored.

Abstract: A computing device may receive netflow data that includes information corresponding to network-side activity associated with a target device. The computing device may evaluate the netflow data based on a netflow signature to identify potentially malicious activity. The netflow signature may include information corresponding to two or more network events occurring in a particular order. The computing device may report, to another computing device, that potentially malicious activity, corresponding to the network data, has been detected based on the evaluation of the netflow data.

Abstract: A policy enforcer device may determine a value of multiple controls included on a control device. The multiple controls may be associated with zones of a facility. The policy enforcer device may determine, based on the values of the plurality of controls, relative amounts of bandwidth to allocate, of a total amount of available bandwidth, to the zones of the facility; and control one or more network devices to provide the determined amounts of bandwidth to the zones of the facility.

Abstract: Crowdsourcing techniques may be used to enhance the experience of users viewing and/or listening to content (e.g., live and/or pre-recorded content, such as movies, sporting events, etc.). A server device may analyze audio, captured by multiple user devices, in order to determine trigger points, in the content. The trigger point may be a time point in the content, at which the captured audio, received from multiple user devices, should be played by subsequent user devices that play back the content.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide an end-to-end federated CDN solution that assimilates a transparent caching server that is operated by a transparent caching server operator into a CDN that independently operates CDN caching servers. Specifically, the logs from the transparent caching server are assimilated into the CDN by aggregating the logs from the transparent caching server and processing the transparent caching server logs to identify network usage for content of a CDN content provider customer that is delivered by the transparent caching server. The network usage is then combined with the network usage that tracked by the CDN caching servers in order to provide comprehensive report metrics for the content provider customer and to bill the content provider customer for all network usage related to delivering the content provider customer's content irrespective of whether the content was delivered by a transparent caching server or a CDN caching server.

The wireless communication circuit is configured to communicate with a vendor server storing an electronic catalog that includes a product associated with the product information.

Abstract: A selective call blocking function (SCBF) device, included in an internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS), processes a request to establish an IP call on an LTE network, such as a voice over long term evolution (VoLTE) call. The SCBF device identifies a user equipment (UE) associated with the IP call and an associated eNode B (eNB). For example, the SCBF may access a subscriber location memory to determine a location of the UE and an eNB associated with the location. The SCBF determines whether the eNB supports the IP call, and permits the IP call to be established via the IMS when the eNB supports the IP call. When the eNB does not support the IP call, the SCBF blocks the IP call and initiates a non-IP call, such as a 1× call, to the UE to prevent communications interruptions.

Abstract: A device provides, to a user device, a list of on demand content available for purchase or rental from the device, and receives, from the user device, an indication of a selected on demand content from the list of on demand content. The device provides, to the user device, points-based purchase or rental options for the selected on demand content, and the points-based purchase or rental options include points associated with a loyalty program provided by the device for a user of the user device. The device receives, from the user device, a selected points-based option from the points-based purchase or rental options, and provides the selected on demand content to the user device based on the selected points-based option.

Abstract: An approach is provided for sharing dynamic content among users. A communication system receives a request, via a voice communication session with a user device, for visual content that includes dynamic content. The communication system determines one or more of a plurality of destination devices to direct the visual content, wherein the one or more destination devices includes the user device. The communication system then initiates transmission of the visual content to the one or more destination devices over a communication session that is separate from the voice communication session.

Abstract: An exemplary computer-implemented media service user interface system detects a request for information about a media program series and, in response, generates a media program series page for the media program series and provides a view of at least a portion of the media program series page for display on a display screen. In certain examples, the system generates the media program series page by determining, across multiple different media content presentation sources by way of which media content is accessible through a media service for presentation by a media content access device, episodes of the media program series that are available for access by the media content access device through the media service, and populating the media program series page with page content that represents the episodes of the media program series that are available for access by the media content access device through the media service.

Abstract: A user device, such as a smart phone, may capture sensor data or interface with a wearable device, such as a smart watch, or another user device to capture sensor data related to the capture of multimedia content. The sensor data may relate to a user, other people, and/or an associated environment. The sensor data may be processed to detect notable events based on a sensor value having a value or being within a range of values associated with the notable event. When a notable event is detected, the multimedia content may be annotated or modified based on the notable event. For example, the multimedia content may be modified to identify the notable event and/or present sensor data captured in connection with the notable event. A user interface may be presented to enable a user to identify instances of notable events and exchange sensor data.

Abstract: A system may be configured to receive analytics information regarding a cell of a wireless telecommunications network. The cell may be associated with multiple carriers, which may each be associated with, for example, a particular radio access technology (“RAT”), frequency band, or frequency sub-band. The system may dynamically rank the carriers based on measures of load associated with the carriers (as indicated by the analytics information), and may generate system information blocks (“SIBs”) that include the dynamic rankings. The SIBs may be provided to user devices, which may select carriers, via which to connect to the cell, based on the dynamic rankings.

Abstract: A method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide for receiving a request from an end device to access a network; obtaining subscription data pertaining to the end device based on the request; determining whether to establish a default bearer during an attachment procedure based on at least one of the request or the subscription data; permitting attachment to the network without establishment of the default bearer based on determining not to establish the default bearer; and storing context data that indicates the end device is attached without the default bearer based on the permitting. Additionally, the method, the device, and the non-transitory storage medium provide for end device-side and network device-side setting up and tearing down of the default bearer subsequent to attachment.

Abstract: Techniques described herein may be used to remotely troubleshoot radio access networks (RANs). A server may communicate with a base station of a RAN via a site router of the RAN. At some point, the server may detect a RAN failure event that prevents the server from communicating with a base station. The server may identify a working RAN near the failed RAN and a user device within the coverage area of the working RAN that can establish a device-to-device (D2D) connection with the base station of the failed RAN. As such, the server may establish an alternative connection to the base station of the failed RAN via the base station of the working RAN and the D2D connection. The server may use the alternative connection to determine reason for the RAN failure and to implement procedures for restoring the failed RAN to working order.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system for providing improved EPGs are described. An availability, at a set-top box, of a media stream is determined, wherein the media stream includes one or more of a first plurality of programs associated with a subscriber. One or more electronic program guides indicating a second plurality of programs associated with the subscriber based on the availability of the media stream are accessed, wherein each of the second plurality of programs are accessible to the set-top box via a data stream that is separate from the media stream and the second plurality of programs includes at least one program of the first plurality of programs. Scheduling information associated with the one or more electronic program guides based on the availability of the media stream is retrieved via the data stream.

Abstract: A mobile device determines whether the mobile device is docked with a docking station that connects to a VoIP network, where the mobile device is capable of receiving calls to a cellular telephone number and calls to a VoIP telephone number. The mobile device notifies, if the mobile device is docked with the docking station, a call handling node in a cellular network to forward calls destined for the cellular telephone number to the VoIP telephone number at a VoIP call server. The mobile device receives a call forwarded from the VoIP call server, where the call was originally destined for the cellular telephone number.
