Abstract: A blast joint for use with a snubbing unit includes a casing around the protective rings and means for sealing around the bottom of the rings between the tubing and the casing.
Abstract: A caulking gun holder/driver is adapted to be driven by a cordless screwdriver or other power driver and includes two different shafts to which the driver can be attached. The holder/driver has a receptacle for receiving a tube of caulk, a threaded pusher rod with a pusher plate at its distal end to drive the caulk out of the receptacle, and flats at the proximal end to receive a power driver for "high speed" advance or retraction of the threaded driving rod, and a main drive shaft adaptable to receive the same power driving unit to rotate the threaded rod in a "slow speed" for better caulking application. In the dispensing mode, the threaded rod is connected via gear-reducer to the second drive shaft which permits only slow advancement of the threaded rod for better control of the flow of caulking compound out of the caulking tube, and prevention of "dribble" when power is turned off to the driving unit.

Abstract: A drill bit blade for masonry and rock drills incudes first and second lateral side surfaces, first and second flank side surfaces, and converging first and second tip face surfaces. A first lateral cutting edge is defined by the intersection of the first tip face surface with the first lateral side surface, and a first lateral trailing edge is defined by the intersection of the first tip face surface with the second lateral side surface. A first lateral cutting edge is defined by the intersection of the first tip face surface with the second lateral side surface, and a second lateral trailing edge is defined by the intersection of the second tip face surface with the first lateral side surface. A chisel edge is defined at the converging intersection of the first and second tip face surfaces.

Abstract: A hard, relatively non-brittle, cemented carbide body is made by sintering pressed grade carbide powders in the presence of a boron-containing material such as boron nitride. During sintering, appreciable quantities of boron migrate or diffuse into the body to become incorporated throughout the microstructure of the carbide resulting in the formation of a third quarternary phase comprised of tungsten, cobalt, boron and carbon.
Abstract: A mining drill having a generally cylindrical, hollow bit holder and a cutting bit attached to the holder. The holder has a diametrically located web and two side wall surfaces projecting from opposite longitudinal sides of the web. A pair of cutting bit locating inclined surfaces are located on the web, each one of the inclined surfaces slanting toward a different one of the two wall surfaces. The cutting bit is sized and configures to be received in the space between the wall surfaces and has a flat bottom surface which rests on the web. The cutting bit is formed with two beveled notches, each notch receiving a different one of the inclined surfaces located on the web for locating the cutting bit in a predetermined relationship to the two side wall surfaces. The cutting bit is attached to the bit holder by solder between the cutting bit and side wall surfaces of the bit holder.
Abstract: A dovetail fixture for clamping and holding two workpieces and for guiding a cutting tool whereby mortises are cut in one workpiece and tenons are concurrently cut in the other workpiece. The fixture includes a guide template having a plurality of spaced apart fingers formed along at least one edge of the template and defining blind-ended spaces between its adjacent fingers. As the cutting tool is moved along the edge of the template having the fingers, mortises are cut in one workpiece and tenons are cut in the other workpiece.
Abstract: This invention relates to a dado cutting circular saw arrangement and more particularly to an arrangement comprising a pair of saw blades which are adjustable from a minimum dado width cutting position wherein the blades are juxtaposed relative to a plane perpendicular to the rotational axis of the blades. A cam arrangement adapted to be interposed between the saw blades is employed for selectively adjusting the position of the blades to cut dados of varying widths. The cam arrangement causes the blades to pivot from their minimum dado position, juxtaposed to the plane, about adjacent peripheral pivot points in a manner that selectively adjustably positions the peripheral edges of the blades diametrically opposite from those adjacent pivot points outward relative to the plane and, thus, provide a range of dado cutting widths.
Abstract: This invention provides a hand tool of the type including a shaft having on one of its two opposite ends a handle and on the other of its two opposite ends socket means for selectively receiving and holding a removable tool tip with improved means to be used in combination with it for storing a plurality of removable tool tips. Basically, the novel tool tip storage means comprises a generally cylindrical storage member having a bore along its long central axis that is mounted on the tool shaft for slideable movement between the tool handle and socket means. The storage member also has a first surface that faces the socket means and is engaged by yieldable means that encircles the tool shaft and extends between and is compressed between said first surface and the socket means.
Abstract: This invention provides a novel and improved miter gauge for use with a cutting tool, such as a circular saw blade and the like, by employment of a guide rail that cooperates with a guide slot in the work surface on which the gauge is supported, such as a table saw and the like. Basically, the novel miter gauge of the present invention includes base means having both a left and a right-hand locating surface that are arranged at a right angle to each other and also has joined to it the guide rail. The gauge further includes adjustable clamping means mountable from the base means for selectively clamping a workpiece against either one of those two locating surfaces.
