Patents Assigned to Vinyl Corporation
  • Patent number: 5816002
Abstract: An edge strip for being mounted along a base structure includes a first axially extending flange and a second axially extending flange obliquely extending from the first flange. The second flange includes a first support configured for being mounted adjacent to the base structure. The first support includes a head portion, a first neck portion between the head portion and the first flange, and a second neck portion spaced from the first neck portion between the head portion and the first flange.

  • Patent number: 5003743
Abstract: A construction panel support member for attachment to a building structure in an end-to-end relationship with a second similar support member. The panel support member includes a back flange attachable to the structure, a bottom flange joined to the back flange at substantially 90 degrees, and a side flange joined to the bottom flange. The bottom flange including a top surface adapted to support a construction panel, and the side flange is substantially parallel with the back flange and extends upwardly from the top surface to a top flange. The top flange is substantially parallel to the top surface and extends from the side flange toward the back flange. The side flange includes a ridge which is substantially parallel to the top surface and extends from the side flange toward the back flange such that a groove is formed between the top surface, the ridge, and the side flange. The groove is adapted to accept a support element engageable with the second support member.

  • Patent number: 4349926
Abstract: A waterbed mattress adapted to fit within a rigid frame comprises a water-containing main chamber and at least one supplemental chamber along the perimeter of the main chamber for containing a fluid giving structural rigidity to the perimeter, particularly along the upper boundary abutting the frame. The supplemental chamber is established by an imperforate flexible membrane internally spanning the mattress corner between the top panel and the adjacent side panel. The cross sectional length of the membrane is not greater than the dimension of the adjacent top and side panel segments which constitute the outer walls of the chamber.

  • Patent number: 4208748
Abstract: A fluid-containing mattress for reducing rapid fluid motion in the mattress is provided in one direction while permitting fluid flow in the opposite direction. The mattress comprises upper and lower sheets connected together in superposed relation. A number of thin, elongated members or strips are internally attached to the upper and lower sheets within the mattress. A strip attached to the upper sheet and a strip attached to the lower sheet are intermittently joined together at their longitudinal edge portions to form a one-way strip valve. A plurality of these strip valves are formed within the mattress to selectively direct fluid motion. Passages are also provided to bypass these strip valves so that the fluid eventually returns to all segments of the mattress and a uniform displacement of fluid is maintained in the mattress.

  • Patent number: 4167795
Abstract: A fluid-filled bladder-type mattress includes a plurality of panels periodically disposed at oblique angles between upper and lower surface members of the bladder mattress for suppressing motion. In one preferred embodiment, a single bladder chamber is filled with a liquid fluid, and panels comprising a plurality of planar membrane members are bonded along angular lines alternately and at oblique angles to the upper and lower surface members of the bladder in a herringbone bonding pattern to provide an open inner structure promoting wave energy dispersion and dissipation. A mattress embodying the invention minimizes horizontal motion and fluid wave propagation.

  • Patent number: 4107799
Abstract: A waterbed is disclosed which has a frame with a self-supporting bulkhead forming a safety lining. The bulkhead comprises two connected wedge-shaped members which are made of pliant material, and are held in place by a resilient membrane. A base member is anchored to a rigid backing or baseboard. A unitary resilient nonporous membrane is fastened to the edges of the baseboard and drawn tautly across the baseboard over the base member. A lateral member rests upon the base member and is sealed to the underlying membrane at the inwardly disposed margin of the lateral member, which is outboard of the inner boundary of the base member. The lateral member comprises a polyvinylchloride or like nonporous thermoplastic tube enclosing a polyurethane or like pliant member. The waterbed mattress comprises a bladder having a wedge-shaped margin conforming with the inwardly disposed wedge-shaped edge of the frame bulkhead.
