Abstract: A system and method for providing secure authorization to an electronic device by combining two or more security features of authentication processed at substantially the same time where at least one of the factors is a “tolerant” factor. By combining two factors such as facial recognition and a screen gesture, these can be analyzed at substantially the same time except when a device is oriented in a predetermined position or a unique or individualized motion is detected.
Abstract: A device and method for controlling the supply of power to light sources, in which a DC/DC converter is capable of delivering a voltage VMAX to the light sources. The forward voltage of the light sources depends on temperature and may temporarily exceed VMAX at low temperatures. The invention proposes means that allow the required forward voltage to be decreased automatically depending on a measurement of ambient temperature.
Abstract: A base support arm is provided for an ophthalmic instrument with a moveable optics head. The base support arm is configured so that the support arm must be deployed to stabilize the instrument before the instrument head can be moved sideways in a manner that could otherwise destabilize the instrument. In addition, an angled chin-rest assembly pivot axis is provided that moves the chin-rest assembly from a compactly folded shape into a position that is suitable for supporting the patient's head. The support arm is linked to the chin-rest assembly pivot by a linkage or other mechanism so that movement of the support arm also unfolds the chin-rest assembly and ensures that the chin-rest assembly cannot be unfolded without deploying the support arm.
Abstract: A foldable roll-over protection structure is provided for use on a vehicle movable in a generally fore-and-aft direction. The foldable roll-over protection structure includes a frame comprising a base section and an upper section. The base section is connectable to the vehicle. The upper section is swingable relative to the base section between a forward position in which the upper section projects forwardly from the base section, a rearward position in which the upper section projects rearwardly from the base section, and an upright position positioned between the forward and rearward positions. A hinge assembly swingably interconnects the sections of the frame. The hinge assembly is configured to releasably secure the upper section in each of the positions of the upper section.
Abstract: A display device housing includes a body, the body is provided with a tuning cavity, the tuning cavity is configured for accommodating a loudspeaker of a display device, the tuning cavity is provided with an inverter tube therein, an opening of the inverter tube corresponds to a space at a rear side of the loudspeaker, and another opening of the inverter tube is provided toward a sound-emitting area of an outer wall of the body and communicates with outside of the housing. This display device housing resolves the problems that a display product is easily subjected to bloop, the sound being not loud enough and poor sound effect. Also a display device is provided.
Abstract: Systems and methods use cameras to provide autonomous navigation features. In one implementation, a driver assist navigation system is provided for a vehicle. The system may include at least one image capture device configured to acquire a plurality of images of an area in a vicinity of the vehicle; a data interface; and at least one processing device. The at least one processing device may be configured to: receive the plurality of images via the data interface; determine from the plurality of images a current lane of travel from among a plurality of available travel lanes; and cause the vehicle to change lanes if the current lane of travel is not the same as a predetermined default travel lane.
Abstract: The invention provides a lighting device (1) comprising (i) a light source (10) configured to generate light source light (11), and (ii) a light converter (100) configured to convert at least part of the light source light (11) into visible converter light (121), wherein the light converter (100) comprises a polymeric host material (110) with light converter nanoparticles (120) embedded in the polymeric host material (110), wherein the polymeric host material (110) is based on radical polymerizable monomers, and wherein the polymeric host material (110) contains equal to or less then 5 ppm radical initiator based material relative to the total weight of the polymeric host material (110).

Abstract: A method for assisting the daytime driving of a motor vehicle, including the steps of: placing at least one variable-transmission screen between the driver of the motor vehicle and the road scene in front of the vehicle, measuring, by means of at least one sensor, the brightness of the road scene in front of the vehicle, and processing the brightness measurement signal to convert it into a signal for controlling the coefficient of transmission of the variable-transmission screen. In one embodiment, the method includes the further step of transmitting the control signal by remote control waves to a receiver fitted to the variable-transmission screen for modulating the coefficient of transmission of the variable-transmission screen as a function of the brightness measured by the sensor.

Abstract: Auto-calibration of stereo cameras installable behind the windshield of a host vehicle and oriented to view the environment through the windshield. Multiple first image points are located of one of the first images captured from the first camera at a first time and matched with first image points of at least one other of the first images captured from the first camera at a second time to produce pairs of corresponding first image points respectively in the first images captured at the different times. World coordinates are computed from the corresponding first image points. Second image points in the second images captured from the second camera are matched to at least a portion of the first image points. The world coordinates as determined from the first camera are used, to solve for camera parameters of the second camera from the matching second image points of the second camera.
Abstract: A method for adjusting a light adjustable lens in an optical system includes providing a light adjustable lens in an optical system; providing an ultraviolet light source to generate an ultraviolet light; and irradiating the generated ultraviolet light with a light delivery system onto the light adjustable lens with a center wavelength and with a spatial irradiance profile to change a dioptric power of the light adjustable lens by changing a refraction of the light adjustable lens in a refraction-change zone, thereby causing a wavefront sag, defined as half of a product of the change of the dioptric power and the square of a radius of the refraction-change zone, to be within 10% of its maximum over an ultraviolet spectrum.
