    Abstract: A lamp suitable for desk tops and the like includes a leg or upright resting on a base or other stationary element. An arm is secured to the leg and has a light source at its end. The arm and upright can be pivoted about various axes to allow the light source to be positioned arbitrarily to various positions. A support mechanism is provided inside the upright and the arm. The mechanism includes coil springs that are selectively compressed as the arm and upright are moved to generate supporting forces. The arm and upright does maintain their position and do not fall over after the light source has been positioned to the desired location. In another embodiment, the leg is omitted.

Customer evaluation data is generated pertaining to the eye-care practitioner's evaluation of the customer examination data. An eye health report is provided to the customer via the network.

The thickness profile includes substantially curvilinear lines of constant thickness that extend generally horizontally across the lens. The curvilinear lines of substantially constant thickness may match the contact lines of the margins of at least one of the eyelids of the recipient.

The system further includes a gating unit configured to control the transfer gate transistors with pulsed or continuous wave modulated active and passive light sources, to yield a synchronized sensing signal from the sensor, wherein a single pulse is sufficient to cover the entire field of view of the sensor and the entire depth of field of the illuminated scene; and a processing unit configured to receive the synchronized sensing signal and process it.

    Abstract: A system and method for creating a line recognition template that replicates an object is provided for use as a control reference during ophthalmic surgery on the object. Creation of the template first requires aligning a plurality of reference points along a central “z” axis, with anatomically measured lengths (?“z”n) between adjacent reference points. Axially-symmetric surfaces can then be traced between selected, adjacent, reference points to create the template. For the present invention, the location of reference points, and the tracing of axially-symmetric surfaces, are based on a cross sectional image of the object for surgery. Preferably, the cross sectional image is obtained using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) techniques.
