Abstract: The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition containing albumin-binding arginine deiminase fusion protein (AAD) for treating cancer or other arginine-dependent diseases. The AAD fusion protein can be purified from both soluble and insoluble fractions of crude proteins, it binds to human serum albumin (HSA) and has its high activity with longer half life for efficient depletion of arginine in cancer cells. The specific activities of wild-type ADI and AAD in the present invention are 8.4 and 9.2 U/mg (at physiological pH 7.4), respectively. The AAD used in the present invention can be used in the treatment of various cancers (e.g. pancreatic cancer, leukemia, head and neck cancer, colorectal cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, liver cancer, nasopharyngeal cancer, esophageal cancer, prostate cancer, stomach cancer & brain cancer) and curing arginine-dependent diseases.

Abstract: A driver assistance/control system includes a camera operatively connectable to a processor mountable in a host vehicle. A vertical deviation in road contour is detected while the host vehicle is moving. First, second and third images of the road are captured from the camera. By matching image points of the road in the first image and corresponding image points of the road in the second image, a first homography is computed which transforms the first image of the road to the second image of the road. A second homography is computed which transforms the second image of the road to the third image of the road. A chained homography is computed by chaining the first and second homographies. By using the chained homography as an initial guess, a third homography is computed which transforms the first image of the road to the third image of the road.
Abstract: Method and system for treating of visual impairment associated with misalignment between eyes of a patient is described. The invention allows to obtain electronically of an image of an object at which one eye of the patient is staring, calculating angular deviation between staring direction of this eye and the second eye and displaying before the second eye the image after it has been electronically processed so as to correct the angular deviation and to obtain the image, which would be perceptible by the brain as a single three dimensional stereoscopic image.
Abstract: A processor with an accumulator. An event is selected to produce one or more selected events. A reset signal to the accumulator is generated responsive to the selected event. Responsive to the reset signal, the accumulator is reset to zero or another initial value while avoiding breaking pipelined execution of the processor.

Abstract: A light guide comprising an external surface forming a guiding diopter, the guide being suitable for guiding light rays by reflection on the guiding diopter. The guide comprises at least one decoupling portion, with a refraction decoupling diopter arranged so as to refract light rays to decouple them from the guide, and thus transmit them out of the guide through the refraction decoupling diopter.
Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a pupil expander capable of being safely arranged without damaging an iris and capable of maintaining a sufficiently expanded state of a pupil during ophthalmologic surgery such as cataract surgery. This pupil expander 1 is used for maintaining a pupil P in an expanded state during cataract surgery and include: four arm sections 10 serially arranged so as to form a circular shape; and coupling sections 20 each made of a plastic material and configured to connect end sections of adjacent arm sections 10. The end sections of adjacent arm sections 10 are connected to each other by the coupling section 20 made of a plastic material and, as a result, the overall shape of the pupil expander 1 changes inside an eye on the basis of deformation of the coupling section 20 and the overall shape of the pupil expander 1 is maintained after the deformation.
Abstract: A method for detection, visualization and/or comparison of polynucleotide sequences of interest using specially designed sets of long and short probes that enhance resolution and simplify visualization and detection. Probe compositions useful for practicing this method and procedures for identifying useful probes and probe combinations. These methods are useful for the detection of genomic rearrangements, especially those associated with various diseases, disorders and conditions including cancer or for assessment of genomic rearrangements associated with therapy. The probe compositions may be used in kits for detection of genetic rearrangements or in companion diagnostic products or kits, such as kits for the diagnosis or assessment of predisposition to cancer such as colorectal cancer.

Abstract: A transparent lens microphone comprises (a) a refractive eyeglass lens; (b) a sound sensitive coating on an outer surface of the refractive lens; and (c) electrical contacts connected to the sound sensitive coating so as to provide an electrical analog signal representative of an acoustic signal striking the outer surface of the transparent lens microphone.
Abstract: Systems and methods for extracting topographic information from inspected objects to identify defects in the inspected objects. A part to be inspected is illuminated with at least two different colors emitted from an illuminator providing a gradient of light consisting of the at least two different colors. A single color image of the illuminated part to be inspected is acquired, providing a color-coded topographic mapping of the part to be inspected due, at least in part, to the gradient of light. Topographic monochrome views of the part to be inspected may be generated from the single color image. Each view of the topographic monochrome views may enhance a different type of feature or defect present in the part to be inspected which can be analyzed and detected.

Abstract: A method for providing a forward collision warning using a camera mountable in a motor vehicle. The method acquires multiple image frames at known time intervals. A patch may be selected in at least one of the image frames. Optical flow may be tracked between the image frames of multiple image points of the patch. Based on the fit of the image points to a model, a time-to collision (TTC) may be determined if a collision is expected. The image points may be fit to a road surface model and a portion of the image points is modeled to be imaged from a road surface. A collision is not expected based on the fir of the image points to the road surface model.
