  • Publication number: 20200119672
Abstract: A system includes an electric motor, at least one pair of high side and low side switches connected to the electric motor, and a microcontroller connected to the high side and low side switches. At least the low side switches have a minimum on-time requirement. The microcontroller controls the switches by outputting a pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal. At least the PWM signal outputted to the low side switch is center-aligned to the off-time. When a request is made to the microcontroller resulting in a low side on-time of zero with a previous duty cycle request that is greater than a predetermined threshold, the microcontroller is constructed and arranged to extend the duty cycle of the low side switch of the at least one pair of switches into the next period to a duration of the required minimum on-time.

  • Patent number: 10587193
Abstract: A method and apparatus for a power converter assembly detects an over-current, latches off a low-side switch if an over-current is detected, holds the low-side switch latched off until a PWM controller provides a predetermined minimum pulse to the latch (for the duration of the over-current), and unlatches the low-side switch if a PWM controller provides a predetermined minimum pulse to the latch. A power converter assembly includes a PWM controller coupled to the main switch, the PWM controller configured to control the main switch according to a duty cycle. A latch is coupled with a secondary switch and configured to selectively turn off the secondary switch. The PWM controller is configured to provide a PWM control signal to the latch, and the control signal is configured to reset the latch to allow the secondary switch to turn on only when the PWM begins operating with a minimum pulse width.

  • Patent number: 10576480
Abstract: A spray disc arrangement for a fluid injector includes a first disc having a dimple with an orifice defined through the dimple. A second disc includes a dimple and a plurality of orifices defined through the dimple. The first disc dimple is received in the second disc dimple. The second disc includes a plurality of channels defined along a concave surface of the dimple, with the plurality of orifices located in the channels. The first disc and the second disc are coupled together such that a convex surface of the dimple of the first disc contacts a concave surface of the dimple of the second disc. The first disc is disposed along a downstream side of a valve seat of the fluid injector.

  • Patent number: 10570803
Abstract: A reductant delivery unit (RDU) for a selective catalytic reduction system, including a housing; a fluid inlet disposed at an upper portion of the housing; a fluid return outlet; a fluid nozzle outlet disposed at a lower portion of the housing; an injector disposed within the housing and configured to receive fluid from the fluid inlet and selectively discharge the fluid from the fluid nozzle outlet; and at least one fluid passageway disposed within or around the housing. The fluid passageway provides fluid communication along a first fluid path between the fluid inlet and the fluid nozzle outlet and along a second fluid path between the fluid inlet and the fluid return outlet so that the same fluid discharged by the injector is also used as a coolant for the RDU.

  • Patent number: 10550928
Abstract: A thermal management system includes a transmission, a heat exchanger, and a transmission control unit. The transmission includes: a transmission housing; a transmission pan housed within the transmission housing; transmission fluid contained within the transmission pan; and a transmission fluid conduit configured to circulate the transmission fluid between the transmission pan and within the transmission housing. The heat exchanger is disposed within the transmission housing and has a first surface positioned on the transmission pan and a second surface. The transmission control unit is disposed on and supported by the second surface of the heat exchanger such that the heat exchanger controls the temperature of the transmission control unit.

  • Patent number: 10539235
Abstract: A parking pawl module includes a first actuator, a gearbox including at least one gear carrier where the at least one gear carrier supports a hub configured to rotate when the first actuator rotates, and a disconnect module. The disconnect module includes: an output coupler having a first surface and a second surface; an actuation feature disposed on the first surface; and a torsion spring having a first end connected to the output coupler and a second end connected to the hub or the at least one gear carrier. The disconnect module also includes an actuation mechanism disposed on the second surface of the output coupler. The actuation mechanism is configured to mesh with the hub. The first actuator controls movement of the at least one hub, the actuation feature, and the actuation mechanism.

  • Patent number: 10539057
Abstract: An RDU fluid injector includes a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet; a fluid path; an actuator unit including a pole piece, a movable armature and a coil; a valve assembly including a valve seat and a seal member connected to the armature and engageable with the valve seat; and a volume reduction member upstream of the actuator unit. The volume reduction member includes a throughbore partly defining the fluid path. The actuator unit, the valve assembly and the volume reduction member are disposed in one or more body portions of the injector, wherein each of the actuator unit, the valve assembly, the volume reduction member and the one or more body portions includes one or more components of the fluid injector. A ratio of a volume of the fluid path to a volume of the components of the fluid injector is between 0.08 and 0.30.
