  • Patent number: 11362909
Abstract: Examples described herein include systems and methods for managing slices in a Telco network by using a graphical user interface (“GUI”) with augmented reality (“AR”). A user device can scan a code that is related to physical hardware in a datacenter. Based on the code, the GUI can display at least one virtual component that resides on that hardware. The user can move the virtual component from one slice to another, such as by dragging it to a displayed slice region. Similarly, the user can drag the virtual component to new physical hardware. This can cause an AR engine to contact an orchestrator to route traffic to the virtual component according to the new slice identifier and new hardware. The GUI can also provide a datacenter map to related physical or virtual components, allowing the user to locate and inspect other hardware relied on by a slice.

  • Patent number: 11362863
Abstract: Example methods and computer systems for packet handling for active-active stateful service insertion are disclosed. One example may involve in response to detecting a first packet from a first active logical service router (SR), a computer system generating and storing state information that associates (a) the first active logical SR and (b) first tuple information specified by the first packet. The first active logical SR and a second active logical SR may be both associated with the service endpoint address and configured to operate in an active-active mode. In response to detecting the second packet from a destination responsive to the first packet, the computer system may select the first active logical SR over the second active logical SR based on the state information and second tuple information specified by the second packet; and send the second packet towards the first active logical SR for processing according to a stateful service.

Abstract: The current document is directed to methods and systems that efficiently and accurately process log/event messages generated within distributed computer facilities. Various different types of initial processing steps may be applied to a stream of log/event messages received by a message-collector system and/or a message-ingestion-and-processing system, including masking sensitive fields to prevent exposure of confidential and sensitive information contained in log/event messages. Rule-based identification and masking of sensitive fields in log/event messages is currently provided by certain automated log/event-message systems, but current approaches suffer numerous deficiencies.

Abstract: An efficient scheduling of IOs in a computing system using dynamic bandwidth regulation includes building up a shared regulator to limit the total IOPS scheduling among all IO classes at any given time. Reserved regulators may be used to place limits on the IOPS scheduled for a particular IO class at any given time. An outstanding IO window may also limit the overall number of outstanding IOs, and/or the bytes of outstanding IOs at any particular time. A first stage of IO scheduling may involve enforcing the reserved regulators to limit the IOPS scheduled for particular IO classes. A second stage of IO scheduling may involve enforcing the shared regulator to limit the total IOPS scheduled for all IO classes.

  • Patent number: 11356381
Abstract: A method for managing several queues of a network interface card (NIC) of a computer. The method initially configures the NIC to direct data messages received for a data compute node (DCN) executing on the computer to a default first NIC queue. When the DCN requests data messages addressed to the particular DCN to be processed with a first feature for load balancing data messages across multiple queues and a second feature for aggregating multiple related data messages into a single data message, the method configures the NIC to direct subsequent data messages received for the DCN to a second queue in a first subset of queues associated with the first feature if a load on the default first queue exceeds a first threshold. Otherwise, if a load on the first subset of queues exceeds a second threshold, the method configures the NIC to direct subsequent data messages received for the particular DCN to a third queue in a second subset of queues associated with both the first and second features.

  • Patent number: 11356318
Abstract: Examples herein describe systems and methods for self-healing in a Telco network function virtualization cloud. KPI attributes for virtual network functions can be mapped to physical fault notifications to create synthesized alerts. The synthesized alerts can include information from both a virtual and physical layer, allowing a self-healing action framework to determine root causes of problems in the Telco cloud. Remedial actions can then be performed in either the virtual or physical layer of the Telco cloud. Remedial actions in one layer can be based on root causes identified in the other, which can allow for remediation before network downtime occurs.

  • Patent number: 11354148
Abstract: Some embodiments provide novel methods for performing services for machines operating in one or more datacenters. For instance, for a group of related guest machines (e.g., a group of tenant machines), some embodiments define two different forwarding planes: (1) a guest forwarding plane and (2) a service forwarding plane. The guest forwarding plane connects to the machines in the group and performs L2 and/or L3 forwarding for these machines. The service forwarding plane (1) connects to the service nodes that perform services on data messages sent to and from these machines, and (2) forwards these data messages to the service nodes. In some embodiments, the guest machines do not connect directly with the service forwarding plane. For instance, in some embodiments, each forwarding plane connects to a machine or service node through a port that receives data messages from, or supplies data messages to, the machine or service node.

  • Patent number: 11356317
Abstract: Examples herein describe systems and methods for alarm prioritization in a Telco network. A prioritization engine can receive root cause problems and impacted network components from a network analysis module. The prioritization engine can define a mapping matrix that weights the problems according to network component type and service level. Using the problem weights, the prioritization engine can construct a problem-impact matrix that includes impact weights. The impact weights can be summed for each problem, as can the problem weights. The problems with the highest summed weights can then be prioritized first. The summed weights can also be based on predicted failure costs, such that the most expensive problems are prioritized first. The prioritization engine can send prioritized alerts for the problems for display on a graphical user interface (“GUI”).

  • Patent number: 11356295
Abstract: Examples described herein include systems and methods for creating a per-app virtual private network (“VPN”) using hooking, even though an isolated process is used for networking functions. The isolated process can include networking functions of the WebView class for ANDROID. The application can start an HTTP proxy server to receive local HTTP requests. Then, the application can trigger a broadcast to the isolated process, causing the isolated process to route its HTTP requests to the HTTP proxy of the application. The application can then hook HTTP requests and send them to a virtual private network (“VPN”) tunnel server. This can allow an application to securely connect to enterprise files or data even though the networking functions occur in the isolated process.
