  • Patent number: 8301185
Abstract: Whenever, there occurs a predetermined event which occurs periodically, a host section which includes a host processor 31, makes a judgment of whether or not it is an engine-mode state in which an engine section 40 is executing an engine application, and whether or not it is estimated that the engine-mode state will be continued. When this judgment result is affirmative, the host section notifies to the engine section 40, information which the host section has collected after the previous notification, and which is to be notified periodically to the engine section. As a result of this, at a periodic timing called as an occurrence of a predetermined event, periodic notification data is notified from the host section to the engine section 40.

  • Patent number: 8295858
Abstract: A method and apparatus for temporarily disabling a mobile terminal which is associable with a mobile telecommunications network for obtaining communication services therefrom is described. A base station simulator (20) is provided which transmits a signal for causing the mobile terminal (1) to register with the base station simulator (20). For example, this signal may be transmitted at a power higher than the base stations (3,4,5) of PLMNs in the area around the mobile terminal. The base station simulator (20) then transmits a message to cause the mobile terminal (1) to be temporarily disabled from communicating with the network. For example, the message may force the mobile terminal to perform a Location Area Update and/or a Routing Area Update.

  • Patent number: 8290299
Abstract: In order to display the image included in the original one on a display part together with outputting the object, a key in a keypad on an operation part by a user. Thereby, the key operated by the user is specified in both of the mask image creation part 32 and data notification part 35. Subsequently, it is judged whether there is the object inherently assigned to the specified key or not. When the judge result is affirmative, the object that corresponds to the operation of the key is output together with displaying the image included in the original one. As a result, a changing of output object when an image included in an original one is displayed together with outputting an object is able to perform simply for the user.

  • Publication number: 20120236720
Abstract: A method and network entity for downloading detected video packets. A minimum bit rate MinBR equals ViBR+M, where M?0 is a configurable bit rate margin from an estimated video bit rate ViBR. A specific bit rate SBR is greater than MinBR. The method uses MinBR and SBR as a minimum bit rate limit and a maximum bit rate limit respectively between which the bit rate for delivering video in case of congestion is defined. The method can further compare the predefined specific bit rate with a real throughput of the user requesting video download with a QoS profile, and if there is congestion and if the throughput is larger than or equal to SBR, the priority value of a QoS profile to be used for downloading video in case of congestion.

  • Publication number: 20120232833
Abstract: A method and a system for monitoring a thin structure foresee acquiring the acceleration signals emitted by a plurality of accelerometers associated with the structure, obtaining the frequency spectrum of such signals, detecting their frequency peaks and temporal variations to calculate, for each of the frequency peaks, an average value and a statistical value that define a range of frequency values. Subsequently, at predetermined time periods, the frequency peaks are detected and, with respect to each average value, it is verified whether the corresponding peak frequency is outside of the respective range of frequency values and an error signal is generated as a function of such verification. In this case, the error signal and the processed signals of the accelerometers are sent to a remote unit where the signals are analysed to determine the state of the structure and its past data and to evaluate whether it is necessary for it to have technical personnel intervention.

  • Patent number: 8238932
Abstract: To determine which traffic and terminal types and in which parts of a call should be best served by a given carrier there is provided a method and system for dynamically allocating carriers in a MIMO network using S-CPICH. The consideration of which carrier to allocate addresses problems caused by the enablement of the diversity transmission technique. Carriers are dynamically allocated to terminals in a WCDMA network scenario taking into account each terminal's vulnerability to interference from a carrier using S-CPICH or STTD according to certain parameters, such as a requested service or the radio conditions at any given time. The carriers are allocated from carriers using P-CPICH, S-CPICH and/or STTD. The invention also relates to a system that implements this method in a WCDMA network.

  • Patent number: 8233394
Abstract: A method for preventing overload in telecommunications networks with IMS by always-on for a call received by a user. The user sends a request message in order to activate a new PDP Context to his SGSN, which sends it to a GGSN. The GGSN sends an Accounting Request message to an AAA server. If the GGSN is going to deactivate the user PDP Context for having been inactive, the association is not eliminated from an AAA server in which this association has been saved and, when an incoming call is received: the status of the user PDP Context is verified by an indicator, and if it is not active, the PDP Context is reactivated, and if the IP address has not been assigned to another user, an attempt is made to reactivate the PDP Context; and if said IP address has already been assigned, a restart is carried out after the failure of the call.

  • Patent number: 8229358
Abstract: Identification, authentication, and coverage control method implemented in a system including a central entity, a network of beacons, and a set of terminals, where each terminal is a device adhered to a beacon. The method includes defining a profile for each terminal, the profile including a coverage control service and a service connection authentication service, each service having an exclusive identifier. The coverage control service is connected when a beacon detects a device and the device is indentified as a terminal of the system. A service connection of the device is authenticated based on messages exchanged between the device and the beacon. If the authentication is positive, the device is allowed to adhere to the beacon and if the authentication is negative, the device is indentified as belonging to the system by not adhered to the beacon.

  • Patent number: 8214489
Abstract: Peer-to-peer networks employing simple peers and super peers strike a balance between centralized (client-server based) and entirely flat peer-to-peer approaches. They introduce hierarchy into peer-to-peer networks in the form of super peer nodes, peers which have extra capabilities and duties in the network. There are problems in the identification and election of peers to take the role of super peer: in particular, the need for regular update messages to communicate peer availability across the network significantly impacts discovery times (when a simple peer attempts to advertise a service or requests a service from another peer). A presence server is implemented in the network in order to monitor the availability of each peer. A device called the “super peer elector” subscribes to receive updated availability information from the presence server and assigns super peer status to the most appropriate, and available, simple peer.
