Abstract: A guide device of a vehicle having a first guide paired with a fixture, a second guide that is paired with a structure of the vehicle and forms a guide track along which the fixture is movably guided in opposite track directions. A locking device has a first lock paired with the fixture and second lock paired with the structure of an X-locking mechanism which is used to releasably lock a movement along the track directions. A primary lock is paired with the fixture and a secondary lock is paired with the structure of a Z-locking mechanism via which a movement in a third direction for a removal out of the second guide can be releasably locked. The locking device has at least a first actuator and a second actuator via which the X-locking mechanism and/or the Z-locking mechanism can be moved between a locking position and a release position.

  • Patent number: 11173874
Abstract: An occupant restraint system in a self-driving vehicle, in particular a robot taxi, for customer transport, wherein the occupant restraint system provides to the customer a restraint system that can be activated by the customer to be transported, and the occupant restraint system has an analysis unit via which a check is made in a safety check as to whether or not the restraint function is activated by the customer to be transported. The analysis unit prevents the vehicle from driving if an activated restraint function is absent. A diagnostic module, with which a functional diagnostic of the functionality of the occupant restraint system can be carried out independently of the safety check, is associated with the analysis unit. In the event that a fault is present, the diagnostic module initiates a suitable service action to remedy the fault.

  • Publication number: 20210347414
Abstract: A hood for a vehicle having a latch support bar that extends transversely to the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The latch support bar is arranged on the inner side of the hood in the front region in the direction of travel. The latch support bar is arranged symmetrically with respect to the outer skin of the hood. The latch support bar has a latch element. The latch element produces a detachable connection of the hood to the vehicle, which can be detached by an operating element. The latch support bar is connected to the hood at a minimum of two fastening points spaced as far apart from one another as possible in order to reliably absorb lateral applications of force. In this way, reliable retention of the hood is advantageously ensured.

  • Patent number: 11168981
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for estimating a current wheel circumference of at least one wheel arranged on a vehicle, said method comprising: determining a reference speed of the vehicle at a point in time by means of a reference apparatus, detecting a wheel rotational speed of the at least one wheel at said point in time by means of a wheel rotational speed sensor, estimating a single wheel-circumference value based on the determined reference speed and the detected wheel rotational speed for said point in time by means of a calculation apparatus, storing at least the estimated single wheel-circumference value in a circular buffer for said point in time, estimating a current wheel circumference based on the single wheel-circumference values stored in the circular buffer by the calculation apparatus, outputting the estimated current wheel circumference as a wheel circumference signal.

  • Publication number: 20210342512
Abstract: Semiconductor modules are used for controlling drive motors such as the electric motors of electric vehicles. IGBT modules are one type of such semiconductor modules. During operation, heat losses arise in the power transistors and the diodes of the semiconductor modules, which causes an increase in their temperature. Therefore, the manufacturers of the IGBT modules recommend that the software of a control unit that controls an IGBT module be provided with a protective function which continuously monitors the temperature of the IGBT module and intervenes as necessary if an unacceptable temperature of a component of the IGBT module is reached. A temperature model is used for the calculation. The manufacturers provide a more accurate higher-order temperature model that however causes an increased amount of computation. According to the proposal, a reduced temperature model is used that is calculated using the balanced truncation method and is optimized for certain working ranges.

  • Publication number: 20210341293
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for determining a model of the environment of a vehicle, in which method an initial position estimate for the vehicle is acquired and map data are acquired, wherein the map data comprise information about the spatial arrangement of geographical areas, and the geographical areas are assigned to different area categories. Environmental data within an acquisition space is acquired, and objects are detected using the environmental data, wherein an object position and an object category are assigned to each detected object. The environmental model is determined using the detected objects. Assignment rules are provided which define the assignment of the object categories to the area categories, wherein the objects are detected in accordance with the assignment rules.
