Abstract: An entertainment system for a vehicle, including a media player and a control panel having an option that allows a user to select either a first communication mode or a second communication mode, wherein the first communication mode sets the entertainment system to respond to a transmitted first set of codes and the second communication mode sets the entertainment system to respond to a transmitted second set of codes.
Abstract: A vehicle entertainment system (1) is adapted to be mounted to a vehicle. It has a mounting bracket (2) adapted for coupling to a dashboard of a vehicle, a vehicle seat, its headrest if present, or mounting posts for such a headrest, or into an arm-rest for a vehicle seat. A mounting arm (7) is mounted for rotation relative to the mounting bracket about a main axis (6) arranged in use to extend generally horizontally. A monitor unit (3) has a front side (5) and a rear side (29). The monitor unit has at least one structure enabling access to entertainment for a user. The structure may be at least one of a monitor screen on the front side, controls for an audio system on the front side, controls for an audio system on the rear side, and a slot (30) adapted for a tablet computer to dock therein both physically and electronically with the screen of the tablet computer (35) exposed on the rear side.
Abstract: A video system attachable to a docking station includes a display capable of displaying video data received from the docking station, and a media player, wherein the video system is capable of operating when removed from the docking station. The video system is capable of connecting to at least one of a battery and an adapter for a power supply.
Abstract: A media system for a vehicle comprises a housing mounted to an overhead portion of the vehicle, and a media unit that is capable of being coupled to the housing, wherein the housing includes a receiving portion that pivots with respect to the housing and receives the media unit in the receiving portion.

Abstract: A system for controlling the use of electronic devices within an automobile includes a control module integrated into the operation of the automobile, wherein the control module is linked to the electrical system of the automobile and is controlled, monitored and updated via a graphical user interface of the automobiles. The control module includes a mechanism for identifying use of electronic devices within the automobile, determining whether the usage is permitted and preventing usage of the electronic device if it is determined the usage is not permitted.
Abstract: A personal sound amplifier device in the form of a hearing aid worn by a user not only amplifies sounds but also communicates wirelessly with an external electronic device, such as a cellular telephone. The personal sound amplifier device includes a first microphone, an amplification circuit electrically connected to the first microphone, and a speaker electrically connected to the amplification circuit for amplifying ambient sound detected by the first microphone. A second microphone is situated away from the first microphone. A radio frequency (RF) transmitter and receiver circuit is electrically connected to the second microphone and to the speaker. An antenna is connected to the RF transmitter and receiver circuit. The user's voice is detected by the second microphone and transmitted by the RF transmitter and receiver circuit, through the antenna, to an external electronic device.
Abstract: A current selectable USB charger includes a USB (universal serial bus) connector, a crossover switch, a pair of voltage dividers and a power supply. The power supply provides preferably a +5 volt DC voltage to the pair of voltage dividers. The pair of voltage dividers includes a first voltage divider and a second voltage divider, each being formed of a pair of series-connected resistors. The voltage on the junction of the series-connected resistors of the first voltage divider is selectively provided, through the crossover switch, to one of the D? pin and the D+ pin of the USB connector. The voltage on the junction of the series-connected resistors of the second voltage divider is selectively provided, through the crossover switch, to one of the D+ pin and the D? pin of the USB connector.
