    Abstract: A method is disclosed for reducing vibrations in revolving disc cutters used for cutting a running web. The method includes the step of coating the disc cutters, at least partly, with a layer having substance components with a high internal friction. Preferably, the disc cutters are made cup-formed so that they have a convex side and a concave side, whereby the coating is applied to the concave side of the cutters. Tough plastic, preferably epoxy resin or rubber, mixed with metal powder, can be used as a coating layer.

    Abstract: A water closet including a body portion with an upper level and a lower level, and integral with the body portion, a closet bowl and an outlet conduit forming an odor seal at the bottom of the bowl. The odor seal has an outlet crest determining its highest water level. There is a flush water container adjacent to the body portion and means for flushing the closet bowl with water passing by gravity from the flush water container through the bowl and the outlet conduit. Further, the odor seal outlet crest is at a height level of at least 50 percent of the height of the upper level of the body portion measured from the lower level thereof, and close to the upper level there is an annular flush duct of substantially bottomless configuration opening into the bowl at a level above the odor seal outlet crest, and, in addition, the outlet conduit has a constriction at its outlet end.

The pitch of the transverse perforation rows in the longitudinal direction of the web is controlled by changing the relative position of the transverse perforation units with respect to each other in accordance with the desired perforation pattern. The transverse perforator can be formed by a plurality of transverse perforation units each having a die roll in cooperation with two needle rolls placed diametrically at opposite sides of the die roll.

    Abstract: A cylinder lock assembly is disclosed which comprises an outer cylinder having a front end with a key hole and a rear end with an end member. The outer cylinder encloses a rotatable inner cylinder. The end member and the outer cylinder are provided with mutually corresponding groove arrangements forming an axially fully interlocking attachment, between these two parts. The end member is insertable in a radial direction into the outer cylinder for attaching it thereto. The assembly also includes an attachment locking member engaging the outer cylinder and the end member in order to lock the end member to the outer cylinder in radial direction. The assembly can also be provided with a latch member arranged to move radially guided by the end member and the outer cylinder. The latch member may also serve as a fastening member of the assembly.

    Abstract: A loading arrangement for obtaining an equally distributed pressure load in a cylinder stack included in a printing unit of an offset printing press, comprising a plurality of cylinders each having a cylindrical body portion and stub shafts at both ends, journalled in bearings. The arrangement includes axially short load rollers for producing a pressure load to the outermost cylinders of the stack. The rollers are located to act on portions between the bearings of the cylinders, and hence, the pressure load is transmitted directly to the body portions of the outermost cylinders. This minimizes the deflection of the cylinders.

    Abstract: A door closer is connected to a door. The movements of the door cause a piston member in the door closer to pump a pressure medium through a flow duct. There is also a flow limiting member influencing at least the speed of the opening movement of the door, and this flow limiting member cooperates with an adjustable activating element which, at a desired opening moment mechanically sets the elements of the flow limiting member in a position considerably increasing the flow resistance of the pressure medium. This brakes the movement of the piston member, and thus, also the movement of the door.

    Abstract: A method for the production of a cylinder lock with a fixed cylinder housing, a turnable cylinder therein and a number of locking discs turnable by the key of the lock; a locking bar operable in the radial direction by the locking discs locks the cylinder to the cylinder housing. The method provides the lock cylinder with locking discs without peripheral recesses allowing the opening of the lock; the locking discs are turned with a key member into an opening position defined by the key member; and a joint groove corresponding to the form of the locking bar is machined into the set of locking discs at the position of the locking bar. Each of the locking discs is provided at the right position with a peripheral recess allowing the opening of the lock. The operation can be repeated with other key members for providing the lock mechanism with a desired number of opening combinations usuable in mastered locking systems.

    Abstract: A method for regulating the internal tension of a web roll being wound between two underlying support rolls and an upper rider roll. During the whole winding process the distance between the centers of the support rolls is kept smaller than the sum of the distances from the center of the web roll to the centers of the support rolls. At the beginning, the support rolls are continuously moved farther away from each other and at a later phase of the winding process the supporting rolls are moved towards each other.     Abstract: A device for cutting a web into a plurality of longitudinal sections, comprising slitters, a center drum and supporting arms for rewind rolls formed of adjacent slitted web sections and located at opposite sides of the center drum. The arms are attached to sliding carriages movable along guide beams in a cross-web direction and the slitters are attached to the sliding carriages and move with them when the slitting width is set, so that the slitters and the supporting arms are automatically correctly positioned with respect to each other in a cross-web direction. The supporting arms are journalled at the rolls and at the sliding carriages and are free to move away from the center drum without affecting the position of the sliding carriages which are kept stationary during cutting and rewinding operations.

    Abstract: A cylinder lock comprising an outer cylinder enclosing a hollow rotatable inner cylinder which, in turn, encloses a plurality of locking discs turnable with the key of the lock. Between the outer cylinder and the peripheral edges of the locking discs there is a locking bar locking the inner cylinder to the outer cylinder. This bar is movable from a position locking the inner cylinder, in which position the bar is located partly in a groove in the inner wall of the outer cylinder to a position releasing the inner cylinder. In the latter position the locking bar is received in a channel formed jointly by locking bar notches in the peripheral edges of the locking discs when the discs are brought to a certain position. The groove in the inner wall of the outer cylinder is provided with a lateral step, so that a deep groove portion and a shallow groove portion are formed.

In the central part of some of the locking discs, there is an opening comprising two portions between which there are at least two substantially radial steps. One of the portions of the central opening receives the key of the lock while the other, when the key is properly inserted in the lock mechanism, forms at the side of the key a free space with a curved border, into which the key does not move in any of the functional phases of the lock. In front of the last mentioned locking discs, there is at least one other turnable element, for instance another type of locking disc, which has also, in its central part, an opening for the key.
