  • Patent number: 9915255
Abstract: A compressor (10) for compressing air for a compressed air system of a motor vehicle has a cylinder housing (14) and a cylinder head (16) connected thereto. A compressor piston is moveable in oscillation up and down in a cylinder in the cylinder housing (14). A lamella (34, 36) is received in a depression (38) in an underside (30) of the cylinder head (16) facing the compressor piston. The delivery rate of the compressor (10) can be regulated by closing or opening a control channel (60, 60?) in the cylinder head (16) via the lamella. A bearing end (44) of the lamella (34, 36) is hinged in a pivotably guided manner on a bearing contour (54) of this depression (38). As a result, a separate bearing journal for pivotable mounting of the lamella (34, 36) on the cylinder head (16) may be omitted.

  • Patent number: 9896072
Abstract: A brake device (10) includes a service brake valve (16) that produces an actuation-dependent pressure at a service brake valve outlet (20) when an operating means (18) is actuated. The brake device (10) includes a brake actuator (40) with a brake actuator inlet (39). The service brake valve outlet (20) is connected to the brake actuator inlet (39) via a pressure connection (14). The pressure connection (14) includes a directional control valve (24) and a check valve (30). The check valve (30) is bypassed in a first valve position of the directional control valve (24) to allow a fluid flow from the brake actuator inlet (39) to the service brake valve outlet (20) and a fluid flow through the check valve (30) from the brake actuator inlet (39) to the service brake valve outlet (20) is largely prevented in a second valve position of the directional control valve (24).

  • Patent number: 9833736
Abstract: In a method and a device for compressed air preparation in motor vehicles, ambient air is drawn in and compressed by a compressor (2), dried in a downstream air dryer (4, 4?) and delivered to compressed air consumers (storage tanks 14, 16). The air dryer (4, 4?) is regenerated with system air stored in a regeneration reservoir (30, 30?), passed via the air dryer (4, 4?) and vented via an associated vent valve (22). In predetermined operating states, a switch is made between a delivery phase and a regeneration phase via an electrically controlled governor (36, 36?). The delivery phase of the compressor takes place at least when compressed air consumption is high, and the regeneration phase takes place in the stationary mode at the idling speed of the drive motor, to keep the delivery phases short and to have sufficient time available for regeneration.

  • Patent number: 9796365
Abstract: An electronic-pneumatic braking system for a vehicle, for example for a heavy goods vehicle or an articulated truck, includes a TCS/ESC modulator (1), enabling control functions for a traction control system (TCS) and a vehicle stability control system (ESC). The TCS/ESC modulator (1) includes a pneumatic relay valve (2), a solenoid valve (7) and a changeover valve device (11). In order to achieve a compact size and cost savings during manufacture, only control pressure can be applied to the solenoid valve (7) and to the changeover valve device (1), while only the pneumatic relay valve (2) has a large nominal size for conveying the supply pressure to at least one wheel brake and for venting the latter. As a result, the changeover valve device (11) can be structurally integrated in a TCS/ESC modulator (1) intended for carrying out the TCS/ESC functions.

  • Patent number: 9783019
Abstract: In a compressed air supply system for a first compressed air consumer circuit such as an air spring system of a vehicle, a first compressed air line leads to the first compressed air consumer circuit and a distribution line leads to further consumer circuits. A priority valve arrangement is disposed between the first compressed air line, wherein the first compressed air line comprises no safety valve. The first compressed air consumer circuit can therefore be filled at a higher priority, and achieve operational readiness quickly in air spring processes such as lifting or raising activities.

  • Patent number: 9731696
Abstract: To produce a combined service brake cylinder and spring-loaded brake cylinder for a vehicle brake system, force-actuation path characteristic curves of the brake system with the elements that can be actuated by a storage spring of the spring-loaded cylinder are measured/recorded under different operational conditions. Force-actuation characteristic curves of different storage springs for use in the spring-loaded cylinder are also measured/recorded. The minimum necessary actuation stroke of the piston of the spring-loaded cylinder and the minimum necessary spring force for a storage spring to effect a parking brake function are determined by the intersection of the force-actuation curves of the brake system with those of the storage springs. The storage spring that generates a sufficient actuation force under certain operating conditions and the dimensions resulting from the smallest possible piston actuation stroke are selected for producing the combined service brake cylinder and spring-loaded cylinder.
