Abstract: Polyvinyl alcohol-stabilized (meth)acrylic ester polymers, processes for preparing and uses for the same. Abstract: Branched organopolysiloxanes are prepared from alkoxysilanes and polydiorganosiloxanes over two stages by basic equilibration and subsequent acid-catalyzed reaction with water to the desired degree of condensation, wherein the entire process does not require the use of additional organic solvent, no wastewater is generated and the process is particularly suitable for the controlled production of so-called DT resins.
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing polycrystalline silicon, comprising introducing a reaction gas containing hydrogen and silane and/or halogen silane into a reactor, wherein the reactor comprises at least one heated carrier body, on which elementary silicon has been deposited by means of pyrolysis, forming the polycrystalline silicon. In a continuous process, waste gas is led out of the reactor and hydrogen recovered from said waste gas is fed to the reactor again as circulating gas. The circulating gas has a nitrogen content of less than 1000 ppmv. The invention further relates to polycrystalline silicon having a nitrogen component of less than 2 ppba.

Abstract: An enzyme for reducing cystine to cysteine is a fusion protein that includes the protein activities of thioredoxin (protein i) having KEGG database number EC 1.8.4.8 or EC 1.8.4.10 and thioredoxin reductase (protein ii) having KEGG database number EC 1.8.1.9. The thioredoxin (protein i) is the protein activity of thioredoxin 1 from E. coli and the thioredoxin reductase (protein ii) is the protein activity of the thioredoxin reductase from E. coli. The activity of the fusion protein is at least 100% of the activity of a mixture of the same but unfused individual proteins i and ii. The fusion protein has the enzyme activity to reduce cystine to cysteine. The coding sequences (cds) responsible for the activity of protein i and ii has been fused.
