Abstract: A hand-held apparatus for spraying texture material including a body, a pressurized air source mounted on the body, a texture material hopper mounted on the body, and a texture delivery nozzle for selectively spraying texture material from the hopper onto a surface to be coated by propelling the texture material using pressurized air from the pressurized air source wherein each of the air source and the hopper can be disconnected from the body without the use of tools. An air directing plunger has a plurality of discontinuities at an outlet thereof, which may be radially outwardly directed recesses or radially inwardly directed teeth for reducing the noise generated by the pressurized air during operation.

Abstract: A fluid delivery system includes a pump operably coupleable to a source of fluid. A reciprocating electromagnetic actuator is coupled to the pump and has a coil that when energized causes the actuator to drive the pump. Coil current sensing circuitry is configured to provide an indication of current flowing in the coil. A controller is coupled to the coil current sensing circuitry and is configured to calculate a coil drive parameter based upon a plurality of coil current indications from the coil current sensing circuitry. Coil drive circuitry is coupled to the controller and is configured to supply current to the coil based on the coil drive parameter.

Abstract: A manually operated internally fed paint brush having a resilient handle forming a refillable paint reservoir and a brush head with a fluid delivery path connecting the reservoir to the brush head via a siphon tube having an inlet positioned at a lowermost region of the reservoir when the paint brush is generally horizontal. A combined valve and O-ring seals an outlet of the siphon tube and selectively opens in response to compression of the reservoir. A latching mechanism retains the brush head to the handle. A trough having a spout is provided for filling the paint brush.

Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to systems and devices for spraying fluid materials such as paints, stains, and the like, and more specifically, but not by limitation, to a dual voltage electromagnet motor for an airless fluid sprayer. In one example, a dual-voltage electric airless fluid sprayer is provided and includes a fluid reservoir and a pump configured to receive fluid from the fluid reservoir. An electric motor is operably coupled to the pump and includes a plurality of windings. The plurality of windings include a first winding portion having a first wire gauge and a first number of windings and a second winding portion having a second wire gauge and second number of windings. A power-module receiving portion is configured to receive a power module to couple one of the first or second winding portions to a source of electrical power.
Abstract: A paint spraying system having a paint reservoir (16) remote from a spray gun (12) of the type which draws paint to the gun using vacuum (6, 7). A paint pump (14) delivers paint under positive pressure to the paint gun and a paint regulator (28) in or associated with the paint gun delivers the paint to the gun as drawn by vacuum by the gun through the regulator. An over-pressure relief valve (70) may be used to limit the positive pressure delivered by the pump. A mechanical switch may be used to select a SPRAY or CLEAN mode for the operation of the paint regulator to allow flushing of the paint regulator.

Abstract: A paint spray gun and range finder for positioning the gun with respect to a target surface to be sprayed. The range finder provides a user of the gun with information about the distance between the gun and the target surface, with different indications when the gun is too close, too far or distanced properly from the target surface to be sprayed. An acoustic range finder provides visual indications of the proximity of the gun to the target surface. Visual indications include a digital display of the distance from the target surface and may be frozen while the gun is spraying.
Abstract: A paint preparation tool (10) having a distal brush head (18) with a mode valve to switch between continuous spraying under low pressure and pulsed spraying under higher pressure' connected by a hollow tube to a proximal remote control element (14) capable of switching off liquid to the brush head (18), or supplying liquid cleaner solution to the brush head (18) at low pressure or supplying liquid under the higher pressure to the brush head (18) using a rotary spool valve in the control element to actuate the mode valve in the brush head (18). The brush head (18) has bristles for cleaning and a pair of rotating rotors to provide the pulsed spraying under higher pressure.
Abstract: A hand-held apparatus for spraying texture material includes a body having a handle, a texture material hopper mounted on the body, and a nozzle extending from the body for spraying texture material. The apparatus also includes an air source connection component operable to connect and disconnect a source of air to and from the body. The air source connection component comprises a first connection structure on the body that is configured to receive a corresponding second connection structure associated with the air source and secure the second connection structure to the body by rotating the second connection structure with respect to the body.

Abstract: A hand-held paint spray gun apparatus having a paint reservoir on the gun and reciprocating piston driven by a motor in the hand-held paint spray gun, the gun having a multiple orifice spray tip with a pair of apertures emitting generally fan or cone shaped overlapping spray patterns. A locking nut retains the cylinder to a motor frame and a frame carries the spray tip, with one of the nut and frame having a corrugated surface and the other of the locking nut and the spray tip frame having a plurality of protrusions engaging the corrugated surface. The protrusions are spaced apart circumferentially from each other and with respect to the spacing of a plurality of troughs and crests in the corrugated surface such that only one protrusion at a time is nested in a trough of the corrugated surface.
