Patents Assigned to Webasto Charging Systems, Inc.
  • Patent number: 10333318
Abstract: In electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE), interruption of charging due to overheating is prevented by adjusting the pulse duty cycle on the control pilot conductor communicating the maximum allowed current level to the electric vehicle, the adjustment being performed whenever the EVSE temperature exceeds a predetermined threshold temperature below the maximum operating temperature as a function of the approach of the temperature to the maximum operating temperature.

  • Patent number: 10319548
Abstract: Systems, devices, and methods for an electrical switch including: an enclosure; a hinged armature disposed within the enclosure; a moveable contact electrically coupled to the hinged armature and disposed substantially parallel to the hinged armature; and a rib positioned between the hinged armature and an outer edge of the electrical switch, where the rib transfers external forces applied to the electrical switch to the enclosure by limiting movement of the hinged armature towards an outer edge of the electrical switch.

  • Patent number: 10308490
Abstract: Methods of and apparatus for removing heat generated by cells of a battery pack. The methods and apparatus may employ one or more fan modules disposed between or next to cells of the battery pack, or one or more fans directly mounted to the battery pack or battery pack case housing the cells. Further, a motor controller isolation system operates to electrically isolate the motor controller of the electric vehicle when the battery pack is being charged. The motor controller isolation system may be integrated with the integrated battery pack and thermal and ventilation system. The integrated system, or “integrated battery unit (IBU),” is preferably manufactured in a manner that requires no, modifications to the electric vehicle in which the IBU is installed.

  • Patent number: 10243394
Abstract: An electric vehicle service equipment (EVSE) system includes an EVSE case having a front plug face, a rear face, and left and right gripping sides that collectively define a trapezoidal prism cross section, the left and right gripping sides further having left and right convex gripping portions, respectively, a relay positioned within the EVSE case, and a controller positioned within the EVSE case and in communication with the relay, the controller responsive to a pilot duty signal, when a pilot duty signal is present.
