Abstract: A rear facing light bar for a passenger vehicle comprises a housing shaped to define a rearwardly directed roof extension which increases in depth in the downstream direction. The housing is permanently attached to the vehicle and supports, behind an outer lens, a linear array of individually controllable lights which are rearwardly directed.

Abstract: A housing for a wide angle warning light which is to be integrated with a vehicle exterior mounted rear-view mirror is defined by building up a model on the mirror and using the model to produce a mold which is subsequently utilized to form the housing. The housing is, during the integration procedure, adhesively bonded to the mirror and the light head of the warning light is then mounted on the housing.

Abstract: A warning light is integrated with a fixed position, externally mounted rear-view mirror, the warning light having a housing which forms an aerodynamically contoured extension of the mirror. A light head is received by the housing such that, when the housing is engaged by the rear-view mirror, the light head assembly means generally faces towards the front of the vehicle.
Abstract: A light bar assembly employs a unitary support member in the form of a mounting rail and a plurality of light modules which are configured to engage the mounting rail. In a typical use environment, there will be two basic light module configurations, i.e., a module configured for support from a straight section of the mounting rail and a module configured for support from a curved section of the mounting rail. The individual light modules may each include either or both mechanically driven and electronically controlled warning lights. Each of the light modules comprises a base, a light transmissive dome-shaped lens and one or more light sources, the base and dome lens being interlocked in sealed fashion and defining an enclosure for the light source(s). The base is provided with a channel which is sized and shaped to be in-part complementary to the exterior surface of a portion of the mounting rail.
Abstract: An integrally formed ported reflex horn comprises an outer housing having a plurality of side walls disposed about a central axis, an open discharge end and a second closed end, oppositely disposed to the open end. The horn also includes a compression driver reception member, for rigidly maintaining a conventional compression driver within the hollow interior of the horn housing, and sound wave guide structure which defines a plurality of ports and a divider for splitting sound waves exiting the throat of the compression driver into a plurality of constituent sound waves of substantially equal sound pressure levels. The constituent sound waves are redirected toward the housing open end as they travel through respective ports and are recombined into a single wave front after exiting the ports upstream of the housing open end.
Abstract: A light head assembly for directing light generated by a remote light source and transmitted through a light pipe. The light head assembly has at least one optic deflector with a convex reflective surface for intercepting and redirecting the light beam emitted from the end of the light pipe. The thus redirected light is incident upon a larger primary reflector having a concave reflective surface which subsequently redirects the light toward the ambient environment. The optic deflector is supported at a desired distance from, and with an appropriate orientation to, the end of the associated light pipe so as to substantially eclipse the beam of light discharged from the light pipe.

A light head is received by the housing such that, when the housing is engaged by the rear-view mirror, the light head assembly means generally faces towards the front of the vehicle.
Abstract: A warning light assembly includes a pair of simultaneously rotatable light beam generators. The rotation of the output shaft of a single drive motor about a first axis is converted to oscillatory motion of the light beam generators about a pair of spaced, parallel axes by a mechanical drive train which includes an eccentric drive for producing reciprocal linear motion in two opposite directions.

Abstract: A signal having a rectangular waveform, typically in the audio frequency range, is capacitively coupled to a pair of Darlington circuits which are connected in a push-pull arrangement across the primary winding of a power transformer. A clamping circuit insures that the breakdown voltage of the base-emitter junction of the input transistors of the Darlington circuits will not be exceeded during coupling capacitor discharge.
