Abstract: A warning light is integrated with a fixed position, externally mounted rear-view mirror, the warning light having a housing which forms an aerodynamically contoured extension of the mirror. A light head is received by the housing such that, when the housing is engaged by the rear-view mirror, the light head assembly means generally faces towards the front of the vehicle.
Abstract: A warning light assembly includes a pair of simultaneously rotatable light beam generators. The rotation of the output shaft of a single drive motor about a first axis is converted to oscillatory motion of the light beam generators about a pair of spaced, parallel axes by a mechanical drive train which includes an eccentric drive for producing reciprocal linear motion in two opposite directions.

Abstract: A light head assembly for directing light generated by a remote light source and transmitted through a light pipe. The light head assembly has at least one optic deflector with a convex reflective surface for intercepting and redirecting the light beam emitted from the end of the light pipe. The thus redirected light is incident upon a larger primary reflector having a concave reflective surface which subsequently redirects the light toward the ambient environment. The optic deflector is supported at a desired distance from, and with an appropriate orientation to, the end of the associated light pipe so as to substantially eclipse the beam of light discharged from the light pipe.
Abstract: A signal having a rectangular waveform, typically in the audio frequency range, is capacitively coupled to a pair of Darlington circuits which are connected in a push-pull arrangement across the primary winding of a power transformer. A clamping circuit insures that the breakdown voltage of the base-emitter junction of the input transistors of the Darlington circuits will not be exceeded during coupling capacitor discharge.
Abstract: The operational status of a remotely controlled electronic siren is periodically tested, from a command post, without producing audible sound. The test procedure includes energizing the voice coils of the siren loudspeakers with a signal outside of the audible range, sensing whether current flows in the speaker voice coil circuits and storing the results of the test. The stored information, upon request, will be transmitted back to the command post.
Abstract: A reflector for rotatable signal lights includes a pair of coaxial parabolic reflecting surfaces which are interrupted and joined back-to-back with the juncture forming an aperture which defines a plane through the common focal point of the two reflecting surfaces. A lamp is positioned within this aperture so that its filament is intersected by and perpendicular to the plane formed by the aperture. The doubled-ended reflector and associated lamp is used in conjunction with any conventional type of rotating of oscillating drive.
Abstract: An electronic siren-public address system with remote control capability. The siren-public address system employs a push-pull power amplifier wherein the output transistors are driven into saturation in the siren mode to minimize power dissipation in the power amplifier.
