  • Patent number: 10598371
Abstract: The modular enclosure with water management mating interfaces most fundamentally includes a mechanical connection which directs and obstructs water via various strategically positioned structures and gaps. One basic configuration includes a base having at least one end face and a periphery extending from the end face. The periphery includes an outward projecting lip. A plurality of retainers is secured to the base below the lip. The retainers and the lip define a channel extending along at least part of each side of the base. A dome having longitudinal sides that terminate in a bottom edge and an inward projecting flange that is spaced from the bottom edge is received by the flange in the channel to retain the dome to the base.

  • Patent number: 10551023
Abstract: A multifunction lighthead for mounting to a vehicle includes several groups of LEDs arranged to provide distinct light emission patterns. Each group of LEDs and associated optics are selected and positioned to produce light emission patterns needed to meet lighting standards applicable to the vehicle. Such standards may require wide angle light emission, which is enhanced by supporting groups of LEDs that project away from the vehicle body, enhancing visibility of the lighthead from directions close to a plane defined by the body panel. The projecting support for the LEDs and optics for a wide angle light emission pattern may be employed to support LEDs arranged for ground illumination. Other groups of LEDs in the same lighthead may be arranged with optics to provide area illumination in support of arrest, search, triage or other emergency functions.

  • Patent number: 10548173
Abstract: A self-assembling network is configured to automatically and dynamically connect devices used in operations carried out on or near roads bearing vehicle and pedestrian traffic. An automatic, ad hoc network connecting existing and new devices can be used to enhance safety by gathering and exchanging safety critical information. In some cases, existing equipment can be augmented with a network controller and radio frequency communications to permit the devices to join a wireless local network and exchange information over the network. New devices, including wearable devices, can be configured to act as nodes on the wireless local network. Establishing the relative position of vehicles, sensors, wearables, and other nodes on the disclosed ad hoc wireless network allows the coordination of functions based on position.

  • Patent number: 10457198
Abstract: According to aspects of the disclosure, the system comprises a frame mounted in sealed relation to a surface. The frame includes movable engagement features and surfaces that mate with an accessory body. A gasket positioned between the frame and a mounting surface seals the space between the frame and the mounting surface from surrounding external elements. The frame may be fastened to the mounting surface with tool-free rivet fasteners, or more conventional threaded fasteners. The assembled accessory body and bezel fit over the frame and the movable engagement features of the frame mate with complementary structures on the accessory body to fix the accessory body to the frame. Openings in the accessory body allow a threaded fastener to secure the movable engagement feature of the frame in the mated position, preventing unintentional disengagement of the accessory body.

  • Patent number: 10420177
Abstract: An LED illumination module including an LED lamp with a plurality of light emitting dies on a substrate in combination with an optic having a single focus. The light emitting dies include a single center light emitting die centered on an optical axis and peripheral dies arranged around the center die. The illumination module includes a beam forming optic having a single focus arranged over the LED lamp with the focus on the optical axis of the center die. Light emitted from the center die is substantially collimated by the optic in a focused “spot” emission pattern. Light emitted from the peripheral dies results in a more dispersed or divergent “flood” emission pattern. The center die and peripheral dies are independently controlled and the power delivered to the dies can be varied independently to generate different light emission patterns using the same optic.

The beam forming optic includes a first light entry surface cooperating with a first light emission surface and a second light entry surface cooperating with an internal reflecting surface and a second light emission surface to redirect a portion of the light emitted by the LED divergent from the optical axis into a direction substantially parallel with the optical axis. A polygonal periphery extends from the internal reflecting surface to the second light emission surface. A void is defined by a lateral channel and a longitudinal gap extending from the second light emission surface towards the first light emission surface. • Patent number: 10295150
Abstract: An asymmetrical optical assembly employs reflecting surfaces and a lens to combine the light from a plurality of LED lamps into an illumination pattern useful in a floodlight or work light. The reflecting surfaces and lens optical element are not symmetrical with respect to a plane bisecting the optical assembly and including the optical axes of the LED light sources. Some light from the LED light sources is redirected from its emitted trajectory into the desired illumination pattern, while a significant portion of the light from the LED light sources is permitted to exit the optical assembly without redirection. Minimizing the number of optical elements employed and the redirection of light enhances the efficiency of the resulting light assembly.
