  • Patent number: 6941663
Abstract: In a cable cutter (10) for cutting cables, leads, pipes and the like, two intersecting levers (14, 16) are articulated by a common first pivot joint (12). One of the levers (14, 16) consists of two parts, a front lever section (26) forming a cutting jaw (22, 24) and a rear lever section (28) forming a handle (20). These lever sections (26, 28) are articulated by a second pivot joint (30) and are interlockable in at least two distinct angular positions (32, 34). A limit by way of a glide means (38) is guided in a recess (36) for engagement of an associated recess each (40, 42) in the distinct angular positions (32, 34) of the lever sections (26, 28). There, the glide means (38) is automatically lockable, being preferably a spring-loaded pin supported on the front lever section (26) for movement in a longitudinal direction, either parallel or at a right angle to the axes of rotation (A1, A2) of the pivots joints (12, 30). The pin side facing the rear lever section (28) may be widened or broadened.

  • Publication number: 20050168590
Abstract: Since a delaying part (14) delays transmission of a video signal, the timing at which a decoded video signal is input into a multiplex processing part (16) matches the timing at which an analysis result from an encoded information analyzing part 13 is received by the multiplex processing part (16). It is, therefore, possible to perform processing for showing the quality level of a video on the same screen, and thus a large capacity memory is unnecessary.

  • Publication number: 20050167242
Abstract: The invention relates to a method, an arrangement and an apparatus for conveying objects transversely to their incoming transport direction. In known apparatuses there is a possibility of either removing all the objects in one direction or the other. To a limited extent known apparatuses also allow a division of a string formed from several objects. However, a disadvantage is that the distribution of the objects, in other words the division of a string formed from several objects, e.g. a ream string formed from fourteen reams, to packing machines located opposite one another is possible only to a limited extent. It can also take place only when the machine has been shut down.

  • Patent number: 6889582
Abstract: A coupling device includes a polygonal coupling part on one of the parts to be coupled for engaging a complementary polygonal counterpart on another of the parts to be coupled. The polygonal coupling part has outer side faces, a longitudinal bore therein, and a first transverse bore with a ball therein intersecting the longitudinal bore and one of the side faces. An actuating body tapering at first and second ends is guided for longitudinal movement in the longitudinal bore between an extended position wherein the first end moves the ball radially into a locking position and a retracted position permitting inward movement of the ball out of its locking position. A second transverse bore intersecting the longitudinal bore guides a releasing element having a cam surface engaging the second end of the actuating body. The releasing element is movable against the action of a biasing spring to move the actuating body from its extended position to its retracted position.

  • Publication number: 20050077171
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus for treating a multi-panel or multi-sheet web of paper or similar electrostatically chargeable material. A multi-layer web of such material is advanced toward and through at least one cutter to yield a succession of stacks which are ready for assembly into piles and/or for other processing. The arrangement for moving the web and there-upon the stacks lengthwise includes a first unit up-stream and a second unit downstream of the cutter, and an ionizing unit is installed adjacent the path of the web and stacks, either between the first moving unit and the cutter or between the cutter and the second moving unit. In either event, the ionizing unit is closely adjacent the cutter. If the stacks are to be assembled into a succession of piles downstream of the second moving unit, the apparatus further comprises an electrostatic discharging device in the region of the pile forming station.

  • Publication number: 20050056523
Abstract: Apparatus and method for conveying objects generally transversely to a direction of initial delivery. The apparatus uses two conveying arrangements which can move independently of one another. Each of the two conveying arrangements have a transport region and a return region. A dividing gap is arranged between the two conveying arrangements. A sliding mechanism can be positioned to at least one of adjust a length of the transport regions and adjust a length of the return regions. An equalizing mechanism can be positioned to at least one of compensate for the change in the return regions and compensate for the change in the transport regions. The sliding mechanism and the equalizing mechanism are separate mechanisms. This Abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.

  • Patent number: 6865958
Abstract: The invention relates to a testing device for measuring torques with a sensor for generating electrical signals in response to exerted torques, and signal processing means, to which the electrical signals are applied and which provide measuring values of the exerted torque. The invention provides a plurality of measuring heads, which either may have different measuring ranges or may be adapted to different tools to be tested. Each of these measuring heads has its own signal processing means. The signal processing means are calibrated in the same way, such that the torque measuring data of different measuring heads can be compared with each other. When calibrating a measuring head, the individual signal processing means can also be adjusted to take individual non-linearities of the torque sensors into account. The measuring heads can then simply be connected in parallel with the display or evaluation means.

  • Publication number: 20030187788
Abstract: A “lock-and-key” consumer billing data protection capability is provided to telemarketing systems which are based upon previously-acquired consumer lists. The lists contain only partial billing information for each consumer, which is insufficient to access the consumer's account. Thus, at the time a telemarketer employing this capability communicates with a consumer to offer them a product or service, the telemarketer, the seller and any entity hired to perform billing operations for such consumer purchases all remain “locked” out from accessing the consumer's account. When the consumer wishes to authorize the purchase of an offered product or service, the consumer must “reach into their wallet” to provide the “key” to their account, which is the missing billing information not acquired from the third-party list provider.
