  • Patent number: 6527501
Abstract: An apparatus for gathering successive sheets of a scalloped stream in an adjustable receptacle has a pivotable first stop in front of and a longitudinally adjustable second stop behind the receptacle. The second stop is shifted, together with the conveyor for the stream, toward or away from the first stop when the length of the sheets forming the stream is changed. The effective width of the receptacle is adjusted when a stream of relatively narrow sheets is followed by a stream of wider sheets or vice versa.

  • Patent number: 6505634
Abstract: The object of this invention is to provide a semiconductor wafer cleaning apparatus designed to clean several wafers at the same time while rotating the wafers held in a horizontal, laid-down position. In an operation of this apparatus, a wafer feeding robot arm 20 feeds wafers 60 from a wafer cassette 10 to a wafer boat 50 and seats the wafers in the wafer boat while maintaining a horizontal, laid-down position of the wafers. The wafer boat 50, with the horizontally laid-down wafers 60, is vertically moved downward by a boat drive unit 40 to be immersed in a wafer cleaning liquid flowing in a wafer cleaning bath 30. Thereafter, the boat 50 is rotated within the wafer cleaning liquid, and so the wafers 60 are washed and cleaned by the wafer cleaning liquid while being maintained in the horizontal, laid-down position and being rotated horizontally.

  • Patent number: 6428175
Abstract: An advisory lighting with a luminous body has at least one light-radiating light outlet surface. The light outlet surface is divided up into part surfaces radiating in various colours. A light source arrangement radiates light into the luminous body, wherein the luminous body has a light conducting plate arrangement or a hollow body arrangement with limiting walls. The luminous body is composed of light conducting plates or hollow bodies arranged above, next to and/or in each other and having various part surfaces. Various light sources are assigned to the light conducting plates or hollow bodies, corresponding to the part surfaces radiating in various colors, which light sources radiate variously coloured light into the respective light conducting plates or hollow bodies.

  • Patent number: 6338482
Abstract: A file of successive sheets is delivered to a converting station by a faster first conveyor, and a stream of partially overlapping sheets is removed by a slower second conveyor. Partial overlapping between the leading sections of successive sheets in the file and the trailing sections of the respective preceding sheets in the stream is due to the difference between the speeds of the two conveyors. A deflector assembly at the converting station ensures that the leading sections of successive sheets of the file can predictably overlap with the trailing sections of the immediately preceding sections of the stream by causing the trailing sections to move out of the way of oncoming leading sections and/or vice versa.

  • Publication number: 20010033781
Abstract: An apparatus and method for determining a bitting pattern of a key comprising a housing used for optically outlining at least the profile of the blade of the key so as to form an image. The image is digitized and information created therefrom, including information about the width of the blade of the key at a plurality of selected longitudinal positions along the length to include the width of the blade at the location of at least one cut of the bitting pattern. The information about the bitting pattern of the key digitized can then be used to cut the bitting patten into a key blank. Alternatively, the information can be compared to stored information and the detected width of the blade adjusted at a location of at least one cut to be one of a plurality of predetermined widths from the manufacturer, thereby creating a regenerated bitting pattern of the key.

  • Patent number: 6299336
Abstract: An improved low profile mounting arrangement is provided for a telescoping tube construction applied to the roof of a vehicle. The lowest mast section is nested between two vertically upright shaft support plates which journal a pivot shaft rotatably secured to a collar affixed to the bottom of the lowest mast section whereby rotation of the pivot shaft causes the telescoping mast to rotate from a horizontal to a vertically upright position. A pivot link mounted to an end of the pivot shaft extends downward adjacent a support plate side opposite to the side facing the telescoping mast so that an actuator secured to the pivot link is mounted on the side of the telescoping mast construction to achieve a low profile mount with minimal vertical elevation.

  • Patent number: 6290377
Abstract: An improved pneumatically telescoping mast supported for pivotal movement in opposite directions is provided. The mast includes adjacent telescoping sections slidable relative to one another between retracted and extended positions. A pneumatic control system for displacing the mast sections between the retracted and extended positions is also provided, as is a mechanical arrangement for pivoting the mast between generally horizontal and vertical positions. The mechanical arrangement includes a drive mechanism operable independently from the pneumatic control system which is capable of securely maintaining the mast at any desired angle between the horizontal and vertical positions. The mast includes an AC powered light source mounted at the upper end of the mast.

  • Patent number: 6278517
Abstract: This invention concerns a device for visually inspecting the surface condition of large-dimension surfaces to be matched, in particular painted bodywork, with substantially vertical and horizontal surfaces to be matched or painted surfaces. Provided at a lateral spacing from the object are vertically disposed luminous elements whose principal radiation direction, viewed in horizontal planes, is directed at an oblique angle to the substantially vertical surfaces to be matched. The luminous elements are protected against being looked at directly from an observation position (B), located in the space between the object (1) and the luminous elements at least from direction R2 of the normals of the vertical surface to be matched.

  • Patent number: 6252513
Abstract: A Pole Alarm System including an electromagnetic field sensor and collision sensors for detecting overhead power lines and physical obstructions within the intended path of a telescoping mast or utility boom device is disclosed. The present alarm system includes a mast-mounted housing containing the sensors and a microprocessor-based control unit which interprets the output signals of the sensors and provides both audible and control feedback to a safety control module in the vehicle to alert the operator of impending contact and to automatically stop the movement of the mast. The alarm housing also features a light source which provides illumination in the direction of movement of the mast to assist in positioning thereof. The light source also functions as a heating element to prevent the accumulation of ice on the housing which would detrimentally affect the performance of the system.
