Process and device for the alignment of two webs that are joined together to form a multilayered web
Patent number: 6454689Abstract: A system and method for aligning two webs which are pulled off respective supply rolls, at least one of which is elastic in nature, the two webs being joined into a multilayered web. The system includes a first deflecting roller for depositing the elastic web on the second web, and second and third deflecting rollers located between the elastic web supply roll and the first deflecting roller. A traversing roller is located between the second and third deflecting rollers so as to form a loop therewith, a position of the traversing roller being adjustable relative to the second and third deflecting rollers for changing the tension on the elastic web. An alignment between marks on the elastic web and markings on the second web is monitored and, when there is a misalignment, an actuating drive coupled to the traversing roller adjusts the position of the traversing roller in order to change the tension on the elastic web and thereby align the marks and the markings as the webs are joined.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1999Date of Patent: September 24, 2002Assignee: Windmoller & HolscherInventor: Hans-Ludwig Voss -
Patent number: 6401615Abstract: A press roller exhibits an external interchangeable sleeve and an internal sleeve, which holds the external sleeve and which is provided with boreholes, which can be loaded with pressurized air, in order to facilitate the pulling on and off of the external sleeve. Patent number: 6145564Abstract: A welding cylinder, which is mounted in a frame, is provided with welding bars, which can be adjusted continuously in the radial direction, run parallel to the axis of rotation, and are distributed at uniform angular intervals over the circumference. One part of the welding cylinder's circumference is enveloped by a continuous pressure belt, whose loose side travels over guide rolls and rollers of a web storage. Between the guide rollers, bordering the pressure strand of the pressure belt, the web, to be provided with cross welds, runs up onto the welding cylinder and down from it. To adjust in a simple manner the guide rolls of the pressure belt to the different diameters of the welding cylinder, two swivelling and locking levers, whose free ends bear the guide rollers, over which the pressure belt runs up onto the welding cylinder and down from it, are mounted in the machine frame.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1999Date of Patent: November 14, 2000Assignee: Windmoller & HolscherInventor: Ulrich Eckelt

Patent number: 5951926Abstract: To control the film thickness in a blown film extrusion line with reversing or rotating takeoff of the film bubble, the thickness profile of the blown film bubble is measured over its circumference. Different temperatures can be applied to sections of the film bubble by a die ring divided into heating sections provided with control elements or by heating elements, forming a ring around the extruded film bubble and provided with control elements. In order to correctly assign the position of the measured thickness profile to the heating sections of the die ring or the heating elements, the extruded film bubble is provided with a mark in the region of the die ring or the heating elements and the rotation of this mark is measured by a measuring device at specified intervals from the die ring or the heating elements.Type: GrantFiled: August 5, 1997Date of Patent: September 14, 1999Assignee: Windmoller & HolscherInventors: Klemens Sensen, Ansgar Avermeyer

Patent number: 5941808Abstract: A casing for printing presses includes a mantle tube of aluminum and provided with inner, collar-like bands. The casing is shrunk over a two-layer inner tube. The use of hard foam used, in known casings, to connect the outer mantle tube to the inner, two-layer tube can be eliminated in this way. This is advantageous since practical operations have shown that hard foam is susceptible to chemical, thermal and mechanical stresses.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 1997Date of Patent: August 24, 1999Assignee: Windmoller & HolscherInventor: Gunter Oder

Patent number: 5912022Abstract: A device to lay flat a film tube drawn from an inflated film bubble generated in a film blowing system includes lay-flat platens which delimit the film bubble and which are placed against the bubble in the form of a wedge. The platens are positioned in front of the squeeze rollers of a film take-up and winding device and have slip elements arranged transversely relative to the take-up device. A driven reversing frame can be provided to hold the lay-flat platens, support the squeeze rollers, and support guide rollers and turning bars about its rotating axis in a pivoting fashion. In order to decrease the friction between the film tube which is to be laid flat and the lay-flat platens, particularly for a reversing take-up, the slip elements have hollow sections including air blast nozzles or air blast slots facing the film tube to be laid flat. The hollow sections can be connected by lines to an air blast source.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1997Date of Patent: June 15, 1999Assignee: Windmoller & HolscherInventors: Klemens Sensen, Jurgen Linkies
