Abstract: An apparatus for supporting the shaft journals of a printing cylinder, that can be dipped into a dye vat, of a rotary roller printing machine, preferably a Rotogravure Rotary Roller Printing Machine, on support rolls for the purpose of exchanging the printing cylinder. In order to be able to exchange the printing cylinder in a simple and fast manner, the support rolls are arranged on horizontally movable beams via which the support rolls can be shifted between the bearings of the printing cylinder and an extended position in which there is provided a device that lifts and inserts the printing cylinder.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for filling and sealing sacks, which are open on one side and are provided preferably with side folds. Said device comprises a filling station, which exhibits a filling pipe and serves the purpose of filling sacks; comprises various grippers for transporting away the empty sacks; holding the sacks in the filling station and transporting away the filled sacks, and comprises a conveyor belt, which starts below the filling station and serves the purpose of bracing and carrying away the filled sacks. Said conveyor belt exhibits at least one stand that revolves around two deflecting rollers. According to the invention, the conveyor belt in the region below the filling station can be lowered and raised again by swivelling the deflecting roller. Below the carrying run of the conveyor belt there is an additional vibrator in the region of the filling station.
Abstract: A device for manufacturing, filling and sealing thermoplastic sacks comprises a station, which comprises a forward draw unit for intermittently pulling forward a web of thermoplastic blown film and for its suspended feed in a vertical direction through a cross welding and cross severing mechanism, which provides the leading end of the blown film web with a cross weld and severs from said web a tubular segment above a gripping and transport mechanism. In order to pass the leading end of the blown film web quickly and without limply withdrawing to one side through the cross weld and cross severing mechanism into a stretched hanging position, there is a wall parallel to the feed path of the blown film web, and above the wall there are in its top region blowing air nozzles, facing the feed direction, between the wall and the feed path.
Abstract: A system and method for aligning two webs which are pulled off respective supply rolls, at least one of which is elastic in nature, the two webs being joined into a multilayered web. The system includes a first deflecting roller for depositing the elastic web on the second web, and second and third deflecting rollers located between the elastic web supply roll and the first deflecting roller. A traversing roller is located between the second and third deflecting rollers so as to form a loop therewith, a position of the traversing roller being adjustable relative to the second and third deflecting rollers for changing the tension on the elastic web. An alignment between marks on the elastic web and markings on the second web is monitored and, when there is a misalignment, an actuating drive coupled to the traversing roller adjusts the position of the traversing roller in order to change the tension on the elastic web and thereby align the marks and the markings as the webs are joined.

Abstract: A press roller exhibits an external interchangeable sleeve and an internal sleeve, which holds the external sleeve and which is provided with boreholes, which can be loaded with pressurized air, in order to facilitate the pulling on and off of the external sleeve. To feed the compressed air directly to the boreholes while avoiding buffer spaces that impede the pressure buildup, the boreholes are connected to compressed air lines, which are led through the interior of the internal sleeve.

Abstract: Flat objects, conveyed in succession, are deposited on a slower forwarding conveyor in shingle formation so that a decelerating unit settles from the top on the deposited objects. To guarantee a flawless deposit of the workpieces in shingle formation, the decelerating unit comprises a group of bands or belts, which rotate parallel to each other over deflecting rolls and which are driven at the same speed as the forwarding conveyor and which are forced against the self-forming workpiece shingle, by means of the wheels or rolls, mounted on swivelable levers.
Abstract: For cleaning an adhesive applicator with driven adhesive rollers, which can be rotated around vertical axes and which together with a housing, which is positioned at these adhesive rollers and whose side edges rest or almost rest against the adhesive rollers, forms an adhesive chamber, the adhesive is removed first from the adhesive chamber, for example by opening a floor seal. Then wash water is introduced into the adhesive chamber. The wash water is displaced into turbulent flows by driving the adhesive rollers alternating in opposite directions to each other. The wash water is drained after a fixed cleaning period.
Abstract: A high strength, stretched, polyethylene plastic film is described. To obtain better stretchability, the film includes an effective amount of an acetate polymer. Typically, the polyethylene film contains up to 10% of acetate polymer. A suitable acetate polymer is polyvinyl acetate. A process for the production of a high strength polyethylene plastic film including an acetate polymer is also described.

Abstract: A device for pulling up the ends of transverse-conveyed flat tubular segments during the production of sacks or bags comprises lateral support elements, which run parallel to the conveying zone and between which a slit is formed that lies in the conveying plane and beyond which the ends to be pulled up project, and comprising mechanisms for pre-opening the ends by pulling apart the tubular sides that lie on top of each other. To pull up easily the ends of the tubular segments, the support elements in one section of the conveying zone form an obtuse angle in the shape of a peaked roof behind the mechanisms for pre-opening. In this section at least one roll is positioned in such a manner at the support elements that the leading tubular edge strikes the roll.
Abstract: An ink chamber doctor, bearing two doctor blades that are arranged in the shape of a roof can be placed in position at an anilox roller of a printing machine and moved away from the same. To guarantee that the central plane of the ink chamber doctor always agrees with a diametral plane of the anilox roller so that the result is a uniform wearing of the doctor blades, the side faces of the strip-shaped housing of the ink chamber doctor bear guide means, which can be used in guides of the side members. The ink chamber doctor can be slid in the guides at least in its end region facing the anilox roller up to its positioning at said anilox roller in a plane that includes both the central plane of the ink chamber doctor and also the axis of the anilox roller. Furthermore, means for pressing the ink chamber doctor against the anilox roller and/or for holding the ink chamber doctor at the anilox roller are envisaged.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for transferring ink, varnish or adhesive during laminating or printing, particularly flexographic printing, operates with a roller in the form of a smooth roller for transferring the material from the smooth roller to a substrate. A plurality of spray modules arranged next to each other and individually controllable is provided for spraying the material onto one or more cylindrical portions of the smooth roller. A doctor blade is arranged following the point of transfer of the material as seen in the direction of rotation of the smooth roller.

Abstract: A separating device for severing perforated tube sections includes an advancing mechanism and a tearing mechanism which respectively include opposing rollers or cylinders which are situated on both sides of the tubular web to be separated and over which endless transport bands are guided. The rollers or cylinders of the tearing mechanism can be moved in the direction toward the tubular web by a control element. The opposing rollers or cylinders in the tearing mechanism are respectively situated in swivel arms that are arranged such that they swivel around swiveling axes that oppose one another in the transport direction of the tubular web and the swivel arms swivel apart in opposite directions.

Abstract: A system for the alternative charging of at least one sack filling machine and/or of at least one truck with pourable material, which is stored in a plurality of silos, which are firmly braced by columns, whereby each of the truck and the sack filling machine can be moved under desired silo outlets, and whereby, following the filling of the sacks, the sacks can be transported from the filling system over a totally or partially traversible intermediate conveyor to one of several conveyor belts. The intermediate conveyor, assigned to at least one filling machine, is designed as a traversible elevator at least over some regions. When in the working position, the discharge end of the conveyor corresponds with one of the conveyor belts, arranged above the required passage height necessary to move the sack filling machine or the truck.
Abstract: A welding cylinder, which is mounted in a frame, is provided with welding bars, which can be adjusted continuously in the radial direction, run parallel to the axis of rotation, and are distributed at uniform angular intervals over the circumference. One part of the welding cylinder's circumference is enveloped by a continuous pressure belt, whose loose side travels over guide rolls and rollers of a web storage. Between the guide rollers, bordering the pressure strand of the pressure belt, the web, to be provided with cross welds, runs up onto the welding cylinder and down from it. To adjust in a simple manner the guide rolls of the pressure belt to the different diameters of the welding cylinder, two swivelling and locking levers, whose free ends bear the guide rollers, over which the pressure belt runs up onto the welding cylinder and down from it, are mounted in the machine frame.
