  • Patent number: 6279894
Abstract: Device for separating stacked flat bag pieces, comprising a supporting structure, which is pivot-mounted in a frame and is provided with a drive, and on which suction rollers can be rotated, whose drive is in a direction of rotation opposite to the supporting structure's direction of rotation. A stacking cassette is positioned in such a manner at the enveloping cylinder, described by the rows of suction elements or suction rollers that each row of suction elements in each roller pulls a bag piece from said cassette. To prevent the trailing side edges of the bag pieces from folding over, the bag pieces are held in the stacking cassette with offset cuts, facing outwardly in the direction of the axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 6146561
Abstract: To prevent socalled fish eyes or to reduce the number of fish eyes per unit of area in plastic films, manufactured according to the casting process or according to the blown film process, the number of fish eyes per unit of area is measured in the tubular film, which is cast or blown or collapsed. When the measurement reveals a number of fish eyes per unit of area that exceed a specified value, nitrogen or antioxidants are blown or put into the hopper until the number of fish eyes per unit of area falls below a critical number.

  • Patent number: 6145564
Abstract: A welding cylinder, which is mounted in a frame, is provided with welding bars, which can be adjusted continuously in the radial direction, run parallel to the axis of rotation, and are distributed at uniform angular intervals over the circumference. One part of the welding cylinder's circumference is enveloped by a continuous pressure belt, whose loose side travels over guide rolls and rollers of a web storage. Between the guide rollers, bordering the pressure strand of the pressure belt, the web, to be provided with cross welds, runs up onto the welding cylinder and down from it. To adjust in a simple manner the guide rolls of the pressure belt to the different diameters of the welding cylinder, two swivelling and locking levers, whose free ends bear the guide rollers, over which the pressure belt runs up onto the welding cylinder and down from it, are mounted in the machine frame.

  • Patent number: 5967011
Abstract: A device for removal of slips from a continuously transported slip web is composed of an advancement roll pair which continuously advances and holds the slip web. A blade cylinder pushes a respective lead end of a slip into an open gripper of a gripper cylinder. A device is arranged between the advancement roll pair and the blade cylinder and provides transverse perforated lines. A rotating tear-off segment cooperates with the blade cylinder. In order to enable a simple and rapid adaptation to different slip formats, the advancement speed of the advancement rolls, the transverse perforating device and the angle of action of the tear-off segment are correspondingly changed relative to the blade cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5951926
Abstract: To control the film thickness in a blown film extrusion line with reversing or rotating takeoff of the film bubble, the thickness profile of the blown film bubble is measured over its circumference. Different temperatures can be applied to sections of the film bubble by a die ring divided into heating sections provided with control elements or by heating elements, forming a ring around the extruded film bubble and provided with control elements. In order to correctly assign the position of the measured thickness profile to the heating sections of the die ring or the heating elements, the extruded film bubble is provided with a mark in the region of the die ring or the heating elements and the rotation of this mark is measured by a measuring device at specified intervals from the die ring or the heating elements.

  • Patent number: 5941808
Abstract: A casing for printing presses includes a mantle tube of aluminum and provided with inner, collar-like bands. The casing is shrunk over a two-layer inner tube. The use of hard foam used, in known casings, to connect the outer mantle tube to the inner, two-layer tube can be eliminated in this way. This is advantageous since practical operations have shown that hard foam is susceptible to chemical, thermal and mechanical stresses.
