Abstract: A cat scratching system for providing a surface suitable for cat scratching. The system includes a rigid support and a scratching medium. The rigid support has a support surface for receiving the cat scratching medium and the cat scratching medium has a first surface and a second surface, the first surface suitable for scratching and the second surface to be received by the rigid support. The support surface and second surface have complimentary releasable connectors facilitating the selective attachment of the scratching medium to the rigid support.

Abstract: A cat scratching device having a body portion composed of molded pulp and catnip. When molded, its exterior surface is convex and ideally includes a rope handle enabling the device to hang from a doorknob or similar support.

Abstract: A tool for separating animal waste from litter. The tool includes a scoop portion having a bottom, sidewalls and handle. The gripping portion of the handle is composed of flexible material providing a comfortable grip that is easy to clean. Silicone and thermoplastic rubber are excellent choices for such material. The handle is made to telescope from the scoop portion for ease of use and storage. The bottom and sidewalls have cut out portions to facilitate the passage of litter but not a substantial amount of animal waste.

Abstract: A cat needs organizer in the form of a shell, said shell having a base for residing upon a horizontal surface and sidewalls emanating therefrom creating an interior space. The interior space is subdivided by partitions creating subspaces sized to receive cat needs products and at least one sidewall configured to removably receive an ancillary receptacle, such as a disposal container for litter, or other receptacle related to the cat needs.

Abstract: A container for spent cat litter. The disposal container is in the form of a box having a bottom and sidewalls emanating therefrom and terminating in an edge defining an opening. The bottom and sidewalls establish a volume. A lid is hingedly connected to a retainer, the retainer being removably supported by the edge. The retainer is sized with respect to the sidewalls to enable a liner to be draped within the container and over the edge to be maintained by frictionally fitting the retainer to the liner and sidewalls. The lid is sized to removably reside over the opening when the retainer is applied to the sidewalls, the lid having a seal positioned with respect to the edge to minimize odors emanating from the volume.

Abstract: A shipping container and method of use. The shipping container is intended to contain bulky, compressible objects under vacuum in order to reduce the bulk size of these contents during shipping. The shipping container is configured as a plastic body sized to receive and envelop the bulky, compressible contents and includes a top, a bottom, each of which is characterized as having a periphery, and side walls, the latter of which are compressible. A stem is provided passing through the plastic body for passage of air and for selective sealing after the air has passed therethrough. The top, bottom and side walls are preferably transparent and are of the sufficient thickness and durability to enable the shipping container to be shipped between remote locations without any protective packaging being applied thereto while substantially resisting damage to the shipping container and its contents.

Abstract: A pet bed having a base and a plush pad within the base which is sized to support a pet thereon. A tubular member is provided having one end affixed to the base and a non-rigid side wall, the non-rigid side wall being extendable from the base in a first orientation forming a tunnel from the plush pad and collapsible in a second orientation creating a side wall to the base.

Abstract: A cat grooming and activity device. The device includes a base configured to reside upon a substantially horizontal surface and to support a grooming activity post extending vertically from it. A grooming activity post is appended to and extends from the base, the grooming activity post having a first segment proximate the base and a second segment extending from the first segment. The first segment comprises a grooming surface and the second segment comprises a scratching surface.

Abstract: A cat amusement and activity device. The device includes a base configured to reside upon a horizontal surface and to support an activity post extending perpendicularly therefrom. The activity post includes a plurality of segments, each such segment comprising a different scratching surface and at least one such scratching surface being a corrugated cardboard cylinder. Other scratching surfaces can include but are not limited to carpet, sisal, rope, seagrass and natural fibers.

Abstract: A cat scratching device for residing upon a substantially horizontal surface. The device includes three scratching posts each having first and second ends, the scratching posts being separated from one another at their first ends and joined to one another at their second ends resulting in a three-legged self supporting device. Each of the three scratching posts have scratching surfaces applied thereto.

Abstract: A cat litter mat and use of the cat litter mat for capturing and disposing of cat litter. The cat litter mat is composed of silicone rubber having a substantially planar central portion and a perimeter, at least a portion of the perimeter having an upturned edge. The cat litter mat is provided with a cat litter box receiving region devoid of the upturned edge, the planar central portion having a plurality of nubs for capturing litter in planar central region of the cat litter mat.
