Abstract: A system for enriching document content using enrichment themes includes a directed search service and an import-export service. The directed search service allows users to author documents while querying information providers using the directed searches that are inserted as part of the authored documents. The import-export service enables meta-document exchanges between systems that provide document enrichment by binding imported meta-documents to identical or similar information providers.
Abstract: Electronic messages with system-generated network addresses are transmitted to recipients to enable access to specific locations in the workflow system. The network addresses may be used only once, are generated using secure identifications and/or can be generated randomly. These secure identifications can be created by encoding a large number into the network address. The recipient of this network address may be required to himself to the workflow system, for example, as a means for minimizing security risks to the workflow system. The network addresses generated to specific locations within a workflow system are intended for specific recipients but may be shared by the recipients as circumstances require. Electronic mail can be transmitted with specific electronic mail addresses encoded in the electronic mail message. The specific email address can be encoded into a “Reply-to” function. Alternatively, specific email addresses can be embedded into the message portion of the email message.
Abstract: Apparatuses useful for printing and methods of mitigating media edge wear effects in apparatuses useful for printing are provided. An exemplary apparatus useful for printing includes a first roll including a first outer surface; a second member including a conformable second outer surface forming a nip with the first outer surface; and a registration distribution system including a motor for translating at least the second member, relative to a medium passing through the nip, in at least a first zig-zag motion pattern from a first home position to a second home position.
Abstract: A liquid crystal-containing composition includes a cholesteric liquid crystal and a microcapsule wall that encapsulates the cholesteric liquid crystal, the microcapsule wall includes at least one material selected from polyurethane and polyurea, and the content of the microcapsule wall with respect to 100 parts by weight of the cholesteric liquid crystal is from about 0.1 parts to about 11 parts by weight.
Abstract: Systems and methods of providing controlled blade engagement with an image forming machine moving surface are provided for metering a release agent onto the surface, cleaning the surface, or both. A blade engagement apparatus is provided having a controller controlling an actuator connected to a blade positioning mechanism for providing controlled engagement of the blade with the moving surface. The minimum blade load applied by the blade to the moving surface needed to prevent defects is determined and maintained for increasing the useful life of the blade. Control systems and methods utilizing single and separately operable dual blade positioning mechanisms are provided.
Abstract: A system and method of selecting a package model are disclosed. A data structure of a plurality of package models and one or more attribute relationships may be stored. Each package model may have a plurality of package model attributes including at least a size and a style. Each attribute relationship may include an indication that one or more supplemental attributes are required if a constraint is satisfied. A user input that is descriptive of a desired package capability may be received. Using a semantic reasoner, the user input may be analyzed to determine one or more desired attributes. The data structure may be accessed to automatically determine whether a desired attribute satisfies a constraint for an attribute relationship. The one or more supplemental attributes required by the attribute relationship may be presented.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a xerographic print comprising a substrate with a toner-based image printed thereon, the printed substrate including low surface tension portions having a surface tension of no more than about 22 mN/m at 25 Deg. C. resulting in a surface tension gradient field on the substrate, the printed substrate being coated with a coating comprising at least one surfactant and a film-forming polymer, the coating having a liquid phase surface tension at 25 Deg. C. not exceeding the surface tension of the low surface tension portions of the printed substrate by more than about 2 mN/m, the coating having substantially no pinholes and being sufficiently resistant to permeation by the fuser oil to exhibit an effective absence of haze 24 hours after application. A system and a method of applying a substantially pinhole-free and haze-free coating substantially immediately after print fusing also are disclosed.

A random access memory is accessed. Enhancement data is transferred into the random access memory. Video data input is inputted into the content addressable memory. Abstract: A hologram reading apparatus includes: a unit holding a hologram recording medium in which data page is recorded by irradiating as a single beam both reference light and signal light modulated by a spatial light modulator including a first pixel area for modulating the reference light and a second pixel area for modulating the signal light, a pitch of pixels in the first pixel area being different from that in the second pixel area; a Fourier transform lens subjecting reproduction light to a Fourier transformation; a filter disposed on a Fourier transform plane of the reproduction light by the Fourier transform lens, the filter shielding the reference light at a first spatial frequency band and transmitting the signal light at a second spatial frequency band; and a reading unit receiving the reproduction light transmitted through the filter and reading the data page modulated to the signal light included in the reproduction light.
Abstract: A method for making toners to include clay composites. The clay composites are incorporated into emulsion of toner and used in making toner via emulsion aggregation. Such toners may have a core and/or a shell and the clay composites may be included with the core, the shell or both.

Abstract: A photosensitive apparatus, such as a scanner used in a digital copier, includes a plurality of photosensor chips. Each photosensor chip comprises a first set of photosensors, and a control portion for accepting an external integration signal, the signal causing an integration time for the set of photosensors. A signal adjustor is associated with the control portion, and effectively alters the external integration signal to cause the control portion to cause a modified integration time for the first set of photosensors. The system enables adjustments of integration times among chips within an apparatus sharing a common control line.
