Abstract: The present invention provides a magnetooptic device, a magnetooptic head, and a magnetic disk drive each capable of performing optically assisted magnetic recording and each having a small size, improved recording density, and a higher transfer rate. In a magnetooptic device, a magnetic circuit including a magnetic gap and a thin film magnetic transducer having a coil portion are stacked on the surface of a semiconductor laser. By the arrangement, optically assisted magnetic recording can be performed, small size and light weight are achieved, and higher transfer rate can be implemented.
Abstract: A storage medium is readable by a computer. The storage medium stores a program of instructions executable by the computer to perform a function for data managing. The function includes: receiving an encryption key from a first user terminal; encrypting the encryption key; issuing a first registration code for the encryption key; registering the encrypted encryption key with the encrypted encryption key associated with the first registration code; sending the first registration code to the first user terminal; and when a second registration code sent from a second user terminal is identical with the first registration code, decrypting the registered and encrypted encryption key and sending the decrypted encryption key to the second user terminal.
Abstract: A system and method to provide 180-degree rotation of image data at full throughput. The system includes a memory access controller that writes bursts of image data into a rotation buffer. The image data is then read out of the rotation buffer in the reverse order from which it was written to thereby accomplish rotation. By alternating the position in the rotation buffer in which the image data is written such that an image is either written into the buffer from top and read from the bottom or written into the buffer from the bottom and read out from the top, a one page rotation buffer of can be used to concurrently process two pages.

The semiconductor layer, which is crystalline zinc oxide preferentially oriented with the c-axis perpendicular to the plane of the dielectric layer or substrate, is prepared by liquid depositing a zinc oxide nanodisk composition. The thin film transistor has good mobility and on/off ratio.
Abstract: A circuit and method for generating an electrical alternating current power signal in which the alternating current signal is dropped once at a non-zero crossing point in every 540 plus N degrees, where N is a non-negative number. This manner of controlling power to a device enables wide ranges of power control while generating acceptable levels of power line harmonics and while conforming to existing international regulations governing voltage variations.

Abstract: A method is provided for characterizing color separation misregistration of a printer device, the method including receiving from the printer device an output image having marked calibration patches having a variety of color separation configurations, each using a first and second color separation, and a marked measurement patch having a predetermined color separation configuration. Measured colorimetric values are received corresponding to the calibration patches and the marked measurement patch, and a characteristic of a curve associated with the measured colorimetric values corresponding to the calibration patches is determined. A calibration function is generated based on the determined characteristic of the curve, providing expected colorimetric values for the predetermined color separation configuration as related to a misregistration characteristic value.
Abstract: A container for storing a toner includes: an electrostatic latent image developing toner that contains: a binder resin containing a polyester resin; a coloring agent; and a release agent, and that has a volume average particle size of about 4 to about 8 ?m and an average degree of circularity of about 0.94 to about 0.99; and a toner container main body that stores the electrostatic latent image developing toner, the toner container main body including a material containing at least one of polyethylene terephthalate and polybutylene terephthalate.
Abstract: Present systems and methods provide for adaptive job-size prediction that can enable the user of a scan-to-export function to obtain continuing feedback as original documents are being scanned, regarding the transferability of a scanned and processed data file. The compression method that is selected to process a scanned image is used to predict the output size for the associated data and to provide an estimated size for the job. The estimated size of the data being prepared for output is compared to the amount of storage space that is available at the target device and if the estimate exceeds available space, a signal is generated to terminate the scan or take other appropriate action. The user is also immediately notified if the transfer will fail for other reasons, such as the entry of an invalid target destination address or invalid user authentication.

Abstract: An image formation device has an image formation section, a pattern image detection section and a registration correction section. The image formation section forms an image to be outputted and a pattern image on an image-bearing body, the pattern image is formed at a non-image creation region outside an image creation region at which the outputted image is formed. The pattern image detection section detects a position of the pattern image for detecting positional offset of the image. The registration correction section corrects the positional offset based on the detected position of the pattern image.
Abstract: An image forming system includes an image reading apparatus, a printer that is connected to the image reading apparatus and performs printing processing by directly receiving image data read by the image reading apparatus, and a notification unit that notifies failure information to the other apparatus if a failure occurs either in the image reading apparatus or in the printer, wherein the image reading apparatus includes a failure information acquisition unit that acquires failure information notified by the notification unit when a failure has occurred in the printer, a determination unit that determines whether or not the image reading apparatus is in the process of reading image data.
Abstract: A system controls multiple digital printers, each printer including a processor, which processes incoming image data to be printed, and an engine, which places marks on a print sheet. A system-wide database includes a software portion, which contains data relating to the processors in the various printers, and a hardware portion, which contains data relating to the various engines. A central control system can recognize, for each printer, whether a condition within the printer is primarily hardware- or software-related, and influence the printer accordingly.
Abstract: A machine, such as a phase change or solid ink printing apparatus, includes at least one ink stick and a coupler external to the ink stick. The ink stick has an electronically-readable memory device attached thereto, with the memory device having stored therein electronic data associated with the ink stick. The coupler is configured to read the electronic data from the memory device. The data in the memory device may include identification data, anti-arbitrage variables, usage data, maximum use values, and performance data related to the ink stick, and the coupler and memory device may employ various means for communicating this data. Also, communication between the coupler and memory device facilitates a method for determining a quantity of marking material in the machine.

Abstract: A method identifies ink supplied to a printer. The method includes generating an image of an ink supply installed in a printer, comparing the image of the ink supply to a stored reference image of at least one ink supply, and activating an indicator in response to the generated image corresponding to the stored reference image.
Abstract: In various exemplary embodiments, systems include a segmentor to segment text binary image data to a first plane. A subtractor subtracts text binary image from binary image data to generate a non-text binary image data in a second plane. A converter converts non-text binary image data in the second plane into non-text gray scale image data in the second plane. A first compressor compresses the text gray scale image data in the first plane. A second compressor compresses the non-text gray scale image in the second plane.

Abstract: Embodiments herein begin by being supplied with input of at least two parties. From this, the embodiments herein automatically generate a contract between the parties, computerized self-training programs, and computerized self-testing programs based on the parties input. Embodiments herein cause employees of a service provider to perform computerized self-training programs directed toward a first phase of the requirements. The embodiments herein also use a computerized self-testing program to determine whether all of the employees of the service provider within a specific group have acquired knowledge that exceeds the first phase of the requirements.

A single public key can be used to retrieve the otherwise invisible watermarks from the watermarked images when overlaid atop the images at Orientation Angles corresponding to the Rotation Angles.
Abstract: An optical scanning device is provided which comprises a laser array which emits laser beams including a number of beams (1, 2, . . . , n) writing a swath of rasters having a laser scanning section which, when an interlaced scanning period i, is set to a natural number between beams which are adjacent in a sub-scanning direction, scans the laser beams emitted from the laser array with the interlaced scanning period i. The laser scanning section can scan the laser beams such that the beam number n and the interlaced scanning period i are relatively prime natural numbers, and n>i. In a first scan, data for raster lines (1, 2, . . . , n) can be selectively associated with a respective first exposure. At a second scan, data for raster lines (i+1, i+2, . . . , n) can be selectively associated with a respective second exposure and data for raster lines (n+1, n+2, . . . , n+i) can be selectively associated with a respective first exposure. The first respective exposure for raster lines (i+1, i+2, . . .
