Abstract: An ink composition, such as a nonpolar liquid or phase change (solid) ink composition, that includes a non-polar carrier, and a nanoscale pigment particle composition. The nanoscale pigment particle composition includes a benzimidazolone pigment and a sterically bulky stabilizer compound, which is an alkylated derivative of an aromatic acid, associated non-covalently with the benzimidazolone pigment. The presence of the associated stabilizer limits an extent of particle growth and aggregation, to afford nanoscale pigment particles.
Abstract: An image sensor includes: a charge generating unit that generates a charge in response to light, and has a potential well that stores the charge; a first charge storage unit the first charge storage unit having a potential well deeper than the potential well of the charge generating unit and storing a charge transferred from the charge generating unit; a first electrode covering an end of the charge generating unit, to which a voltage is applied, to form a gradient of a potential so that a charge stored in the charge generating unit is transferred to the first charge storage unit; and a second electrode covering a part of the charge generating unit, to which a voltage is applied to make a part of the potential well of the charge generating unit shallow, the shallow part corresponding to the part of the charge generating unit covered by the second electrode.
Abstract: A method of integrating multiple sampling interval image data with timing information from a defect once-around sensor and the machine page sync signals to estimate a banding profile. By augmenting the sampling interval data with the timing data, proper phasing of each frequency over each sampling interval can be maintained. Specifically, when the data over the multiple intervals is taken, the defect source once-around signal and the page sync signals are also recorded. The combination of this information allows the algorithm to extract phase and amplitude information of banding defects from the sampling intervals using a new matched-filter based parameter estimation algorithm. Estimated banding profiles are then generated from the known frequencies, and the estimated amplitude and phase values.
Abstract: A semiconductive belt includes: at least one different resistance portion that is configured to partly differ in surface resistance from surroundings, wherein the at least one different resistance portion is at an angle with respect to a direction perpendicular to a belt end portion.
Abstract: A toner cartridge includes: a cartridge main body having an opening; a toner chamber that is provided inside the cartridge main body and contains toner; an open-close member that opens/closes the opening by moving; and a regulation part that regulates movement of the open-close member in an opening/closing direction when the cartridge main body is moved in a direction where it is removed/attached to/from an image forming apparatus, wherein the opening enables movement of the toner between a position inside the toner chamber and a position outside the cartridge main body.
Abstract: There is provided a document destruction apparatus including: a destruction section that destroys documents; a conveyance section that conveys documents to the destruction section a page at a time; a reading section that is disposed partway along the conveyance section and that, from a document to which identification information for identifying the document has been applied to each page at at least one of a conveyance direction leading end side and trailing end side, reads the identification information at each page; and an alteration section that, in a case in which the identification information has been read at the conveyance direction leading end side by the reading section, alters a conveyance direction of the page that has been read such that the page will be conveyed from the conveyance direction trailing end side.
Abstract: The invention provides a liquid composition for ink jet recording. The liquid composition contains an organic acid having a neutralization degree of 40 to 100%, a water-soluble organic solvent, water, and two or more kinds of positive ions including lithium ions. The content of the lithium ions with respect to the total mol number of the positive ions is about 20 to about 95 mol %. The invention also provides an ink set for ink jet recording that contains an ink including a coloring material, a water-soluble solvent, and water, and the liquid composition, and an ink jet recording method and an ink jet recording apparatus where the ink set is used.
