Abstract: A method and system of manual windowing within a displayed image is disclosed, which include specifying different windows within a displayed image, assigning tags to different windows, assigning processing channels to the windows, processing the different windows on the basis of the assigned tags and assembling the different windows. A scanner is disclosed which sends image data to a manual window construction module which specifies a plurality of windows within a displayed image and which assigns specific tags to each one of the plurality of windows. According to various exemplary embodiments, the windows are processed separately and re-assembled by a processor.
Abstract: An electronic equipment includes: a first connecting unit that connects an external apparatus and a transmit and receive unit; a prohibit unit; an identification information storage; a second connecting unit that is connected to a key constituting member including memory unit storing therein authentication information corresponding to the identification information; a covering unit; a gain unit; a judge unit; and a permit unit.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive member, a charging device, a developing device, a thickness detecting unit and a parameter setting unit. A photosensitive layer is formed on a surface of the photosensitive member. The charging device charges the photosensitive member. The developing device forms a toner image on the surface of the photosensitive member. The thickness detecting unit detects a thickness of the photosensitive layer on a basis of a value of a current supplied to the charging device. When the thickness detecting unit detects the thickness of the photosensitive layer, the parameter setting unit sets at least one of a charge parameter for the charging device and a development parameter to be different from that used in forming an image on a recording medium by transferring a toner image formed on the surface of the photosensitive member onto the recording medium.
Abstract: A bilingual authoring apparatus includes a user interface (20) for inputting partially translated text including a text portion in a source language and surrounding or adjacent text in a target language. A bilingual dictionary (34) associates words and phrases in the target language and words and phrases in a source language. A context sensitive translation tool (30, 32, 38) communicates with the user interface, receives the partially translated text, and provides at least one proposed translation in the target language of the text portion in the source language. The at least one proposed translation in the target language is derived from the bilingual dictionary based on contextual analysis of at least a portion of the partially translated text.

Abstract: An electrostatic latent image holder unit includes: first and second electrostatic latent image holders that have first and second functional layers, respectively, the first functional layer being different from the second functional layer in component ratio, and holds an electrostatic latent image on a surface thereof; a contact type charging unit that is in contact with the first electrostatic latent image holder to charge a surface of the first electrostatic latent image holders at a predetermined electric potential level; a non-contact type charging unit that are spaced from the second electrostatic latent image holder, and charge a surface of the second electrostatic latent image holder at a predetermined electric potential level; an exposure unit that exposes the first and second electrostatic latent image holders to form an electrostatic latent image; and a development unit that develops the first and second electrostatic latent image with toner to form a toner image.
Abstract: A method and system for estimating color separation misregistration of a printing system. The method may include marking a substrate to form a misregistration estimation patch. The misregistration estimation patch being formed by first and second color separations. The first color separation marking the substrate with a first halftone pattern. The first halftone pattern has a first halftone-frequency vector in a first direction and a second halftone-frequency vector in a second direction. The second color separation marking the substrate with a second halftone pattern. The second halftone pattern has a first halftone-frequency vector in a first direction and a second halftone-frequency vector in a second direction. The first and second halftone patterns form a moiré pattern. A deviation in at least one the halftone frequency vectors and/or the moiré pattern can be indicative of a color separation misregistration.
