Abstract: A method and system render rasterized data by receiving non-rasterized page description language data and a corresponding transformation matrix representing transformation operations to be performed. The non-rasterized page description language data is rasterizing to create rasterized data. The corresponding transformation matrix is decomposed into a plurality of individual transformation operation matrices and a discrete transformation operation value, from a corresponding individual transformation operation matrix, is generated for each transformation operation to be performed upon the rasterized data. The transformation operations are performed upon the rasterized data based upon the generated discrete transformation operation values.
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes an acquiring unit, a specifying unit, a search unit and a difference extracting unit. The acquiring unit acquires a first image and a second image. The specifying unit specifies one or more image areas included in the first image. The search unit searches the second image for an image area corresponding to each of the one or more image areas specified by the specifying unit. The difference extracting unit extracts a difference between the corresponding image area obtained by the search unit and each of the one or more image areas specified by the specifying unit.
Abstract: A device and method for data protection of inputted and stored publicly encrypted data. Publicly encrypted data can be received by a data receiver module and stored in a storage module and be decrypted by a decryption module using a first encryption key. A deciding device can determine whether or not the data needs protection. If necessary, the data can be re-encrypted by an encryption module based on a second and different internal private encryption key generated from the encryption module and stored in the storage module.
Abstract: A method for scheduling print jobs for a plurality of printers (40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50) includes, for each of a plurality of print jobs, determining a number of pages of a first print modality (such as black only printing) and of a second print modality (such as color printing) for the print job. A file header is determined, based on the number of pages of the first and second print modalities in the print job. The file header is associated with the print job and the print job transmitted, along with the file header, to a print job scheduler (10). The scheduler schedules a sequence for printing the plurality of print jobs by the plurality of printers, based on minimizing, for at least one of the plurality of printers, a number of periods of time during the sequence of printing where the at least one printer is in a non-operational mode; and/or maximizing continuous run time for at least one of the printers.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for checking and identifying images and other document components that may not be suitably rendered by an output device or process. The method employs a dual-mode analysis of visual image attributes to determine an aggregate confidence while also checking individual image attributes, to determine whether image content requires adjustment prior to being printed or rendered.
Abstract: A system for detecting stripper device blockage in a printing system is disclosed. The system includes a fusing member which during operation contacts a sheet of printer media to fuse a marking material to the sheet, a stripping device configured to apply pressurized air from an air supply through at least one orifice to the fuser member in order to separate the sheet from the surface and a flow measurement device in line with the air supply which measures air flow. The air flow device will assist in performing an assessment check which may include taking a baseline measurement of air flow and a diagnostic measurement of air flow. In the case where the difference between the diagnostic measurement and baseline measurement is above a different threshold, corrective action may be taken.
Abstract: In a method for identifying a table of contents in a document (10), text fragments are extracted (12) from the document. There are identified (20, 30, 34, 38): (i) a substantially contiguous group of text fragments as table of content entries and (ii) a different group of text fragments as linked text fragments linked with corresponding table of content entries. During the identifying, a number of text fragments that are candidates for identification as linked text fragments is reduced based on at least one reduction criterion (130). The identified table of contents entries and linked text fragments (110) are validated based on at least one validation criterion (162) related to distribution of the linked text fragments.
Abstract: A locating system for an archive having multiple objects stored therein includes an RFID reader device having an RFID reader to detect and read RFID tags on the objects. A central processing unit includes a database to store information on each object in the archive, a location engine operating system in communication with the RFID reader device, and a data structure to store a relative position of each object in the archive relative to each other object in the archive. A method of locating an object within an archive containing multiple objects includes carrying an RFID reader device through the archive. The RFID reader device queries each RFID tag for the identifier associated with the RFID tag and determines whether each identifier is an old identifier stored in a memory or a new identifier not stored in the memory.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for compensating for printer cross-process nonuniformity. The method and system provide a means to offset a cross-process uniformity profile associated with an image output device, such as a printer, where process direction noise is measured and the cross-process uniformity profile is adjusted accordingly to provide a better representation of the image output device cross-process uniformity profile.
Abstract: A system and process enable a device to adjust the duration of various power modes based on usage of the device. The process includes operating a device at a fully operational power level, counting a first wait time, modifying a first wait time modifier in response to detection of image generating device use prior to expiration of the first wait time, and reducing power consumption from the fully operational level to a low power level in response to expiration of the first wait time.

Abstract: An imaging drum maintenance assembly that includes an oil applicator device, and an elastomeric metering blade spaced from the applicator roller and having a bulk resistivity that is less than about 500,000 ohm*meter.
Abstract: A tool bit suited to use in a machining apparatus for lathing of photoreceptor blanks includes a cutting portion which defines a plurality of projections. During lathing, the projections extend into the blank successively greater distances. When the blank is rotated, each projection cuts a successively radially inward portion of the workpiece. The resulting swarf is thinner and generally easier to handle than for a tool with a single cutting edge, thereby enabling vacuum suction of the swarf.

Abstract: A fuser assembly comprises a fusing member and a pressure member, where the fusing member and the pressure member cooperatively rotate to form a fuser nip. The fuser is arranged so that the pressure member speed is reduced with respect to the fusing member speed, thus forming a reduced pressure member speed. The reduced pressure member speed stretches or retards the surface of the fusing member elastomer enough to assist in stripping or peeling the media sheet lead edge from the fusing member. As a result of initially stripping or peeling the media sheet lead edge, the remaining media body likewise is assisted to be stripped or peeled from the fusing member. In various embodiments the media stripping or peeling process is assisted by means of one or more air knives, one or more stripping fingers, or any combination of these items.
Abstract: In a weighted finite state network process, a finite state network object is stored. The finite state network object includes arcs, and each arc has an associated weight stored as a weight-defining finite state network object. The finite state network object is applied to an input. The applying includes combining weights of one or more arcs matching the input using finite state network-combining operations.
Abstract: The position measurement system includes: an image capturing unit capturing first reference points which are three reference points on a plane arranged on a target and whose positional relation with each other is specified, and a second reference point which is a single reference point at a distance away from the plane and whose positional relation with the first reference points is specified; an identifying unit identifying images of the first and second reference points based on the positional relation among the images; and a calculating unit calculating a three-dimensional position and triaxial angles of the target based on the positional relation between the images of the first and second reference points. The calculating unit specifies the plane including the first reference points on the target from the images of the first reference points and a normal direction of the plane according to the image of the second reference point.
Abstract: The disclosed systems and methods pertain to the processing of large format images in a manner to avoid introducing imaging defects, and more particularly to dividing the large image into bands, processing these bands in parallel and then putting them back together in to create the final processed image. The methods include the use of overlapping the image bands, padding of the bands prior to processing and the redefinition of image values at common boundaries of the bands to minimize or eliminate visible defects.
