Abstract: A laser imaging system and method. In an example embodiment, one or more laser diode arrays are associated with a digital micro-mirror device. A shutter-like device can be positioned upstream in the light path of the laser diode array (or arrays) such that the shutter-like device diverts energy out of the laser imaging system and away from the digital micro-mirror device during periods of extended non-imaging. A homogenizer module can be provided wherein the shutter-like device is located.

Abstract: A printer uses at least two centrally positioned single nip de-skew, lateral registration, and process direction registration devices to remove skew, laterally register, and register in the process direction substrates moving along a media transport path. The single nip de-skew, lateral registration, and process direction registration devices include a fixed roller having a low coefficient of friction and a length longer than a rotating wheel that forms a nip with the fixed roller having a high coefficient of friction to enable an actuator to move the rotating wheel along the fixed roller to laterally register and de-skew substrates.

Abstract: A tandem system of metering and donor rolls is used to apply two different adhesives to a fully adhesive backed multilayer sheet to produce variably distributed adhesives and properties. Each of the two adhesives is unique and is cured differently to create a layer of adhesive that has differing adhesive properties on the sheet. A clear adhesive is applied to a top portion of cards before they are cut from the sheet and has a higher tackiness than the adhesive applied to the rest of the cards on the sheet in order to reduce glue buildup on blades cutting the cards from the sheet.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a transfer unit that transfers a toner image to a recording medium; a non-white toner image forming unit that forms a non-white toner image on the transfer unit by using non-white toner having a non-white color that differs from white; a white toner image forming unit that forms a white toner image on the transfer unit by using white toner that is white in color after the non-white toner image is formed on the transfer unit; and a control unit that controls an amount of the white toner used by the white toner image forming unit to form the white toner image so that the amount of the white toner is smaller when the non-white toner image is formed under the white toner image than when no toner image is formed under the white toner image.
Abstract: A fixing device includes a rotatable fixing belt; a contact portion that comes into contact with an inner peripheral surface of the fixing belt in a width direction; a holding portion disposed opposite the inner peripheral surface of the fixing belt to guide and hold the fixing belt; a pressing unit that presses the fixing belt against the contact portion; a first protrusion and a second protrusion respectively disposed at portions of the holding portion upstream and downstream of the contact portion in a rotation direction of the fixing belt to come into contact with the inner peripheral surface of the fixing belt in the width direction; and a lubricant applied to the inner peripheral surface of the fixing belt. At least one of the first protrusion and the second protrusion has a recess at at least a center portion of the protrusion in a longitudinal direction of the protrusion.
Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes a receiving unit that receives, during or after reproduction of a video, a predetermined operation with respect to the video, an associating unit that associates the received operation with a reproduction location where the received operation has been generated in the video, and a setting unit that sets in response to the received operation an importance degree of the reproduction location associated with the received operation.
Abstract: An image output system includes a section that manages identification information for identifying a terminal apparatus and a target file as a target of an image output in correlation with each other, a section that acquires identification information of the terminal apparatus and designation information for designating an image output apparatus from the terminal apparatus, and a section that transmits the target file correlated with the identification information of the terminal apparatus, which has been acquired from the terminal apparatus to the image output apparatus designated by the designation information acquired from the terminal apparatus.
Abstract: A mobile terminal device includes a print data selecting unit that selects print data in response to a user operation, a communication establishing unit that establishes wireless communication with a network, a detection unit that detects an event in which an image forming apparatus connected to a first network is selected as a printing destination of the print data, an obtainment unit that obtains the print data from a storage destination connected to a second network different from the first network through wireless communication with the second network established by the communication establishing unit after the detection unit detects the event, in a case where the print data is stored in the storage destination, and a data transmitting unit that transmits the print data obtained by the obtainment unit to the image forming apparatus through wireless communication with the first network established by the communication establishing unit.
