Abstract: A processing system includes a sheet-shaped device, a determination unit, and a controller. The sheet-shaped device is attachable to a seat in an area from a seat surface of the seat to a surface of a backrest of the seat. The sheet-shaped device includes a sensor that detects whether a user is sitting on the seat surface and that detects whether the user is leaning against the surface of the backrest. The determination unit determines a type of sitting posture of the user by using a signal from the sensor. The controller controls a control target in accordance with the determined type of sitting posture.
Abstract: An inkjet printer is configured with capping stations for storing printheads in the printer during periods of printer inactivity so the viscosity of the ink in the nozzles of the inkjets of the printheads does not increase significantly. Each capping station has a printhead receptacle with an opening corresponding to a perimeter of a printhead, a pair of members pivotably mounted to the printhead receptacle so the members can move between a first position where the members expose the opening of the printhead receptacle and a second position where the members cover the opening of the printhead receptacle, and an actuator operatively connected to the pair of members to move the members between the first position and the second position. A controller is operatively connected to the actuator to operate the first actuator to move the members between the first position and the second position.

Abstract: A universal object holding mechanism for holding three-dimensional objects for printing thereon uses multiple conformable balls mounted within a pattern of holes in a two part back plate. The multiple conformable balls are pressed into an object which in turn is pressed against a datum surface that represents desired spacing away from print heads. Vacuum is applied to the multiple conformable balls which grip the object. The multiple conformable balls are filled with particulates that cause the multiple conformable balls to become rigid when the vacuum is applied. This contributes to keeping the object from moving when it is being moved past a print head.

Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium, and apparatus for automatically adjusting a feeder tray of a printing device are disclosed. For example, the method receives a signal to initiate a feeder tray adjustment routine, wherein the feeder tray adjustment routine determines an amount of lateral adjustment of the feeder tray to eliminate a lateral input error of a print media that is fed to a registration subsystem of the printing device, activates a mechanism to adjust a lateral position of the feeder tray by the amount that is determined, and feeds subsequent print media through the registration subsystem for printing an image on the subsequent print media.
