Abstract: A device for offsetting sheets as they are conveyed in a paper path toward a stacker includes a narrow channel mounted to a set of linked arms which when moved in a process direction (upstream-downstream) articulate in a cross process direction (inboard-outboard) to register the sheets at various locations for stacking or finish processing. The linked arms keep the channel parallel to the paper path at all times regardless of inboard-outboard offset.
Abstract: A status monitoring system includes multiple sensors that detect a status of a monitoring target, a transmission unit that transmits changed detection data when detection data detected by the multiple sensors changes, a storage unit that stores the detection data transmitted by the transmission unit, a prediction unit that predicts, from past detection data stored in the storage unit, a time at which the detection data detected by the multiple sensors is predicted to change, and an instruction unit that instructs a specific subset of the multiple sensors to transmit data for checking operation a preset amount of time before the time predicted by the prediction unit.
Abstract: A controller includes an extractor configurated such that, if plural talk rooms exist where information is portable and viewable by each of plural users and, when instruction information including a file and an instruction to execute processing for the file is posted, the processing associated with the posted instruction information is executable, and if a talk room where the instruction information is posted differs from a talk room where the processing associated with the instruction information is executed, a difference between the file before the processing and the file after the processing is extracted when the processing associated with the instruction information is executed.
Abstract: An aqueous ink printer includes two drying stages that enable coated substrates to be printed with aqueous ink images. The first drying stage dries substrates uniformly in the cross-process direction and the second drying stage dries substrates non-uniformly in the cross-process direction to enable only predetermined portions of the printed substrates to be dried. The predetermined portions of the printed substrates are aligned in a process direction with nip rollers or other printer components that engage the substrates after the substrates exit the second drying stage.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus includes: a reception section that receives print data including plural page images and receives data on what type the print data is for selecting attribute information with a degree of importance set for each attribute indicating a feature of the page image; an acquisition section that acquires the attribute information according to the type of the print data; a setting section that sets an evaluation value for each of the page images included in the print data by using the acquired attribute information; and a control section that performs a control to display previews of the page images according to the evaluation values.

Abstract: According to aspects illustrated herein, a method of printing a document is disclosed. The method includes receiving a request for printing a document and one or more print parameters, the one or more print parameters include at least a primary media size selected by a user for printing. While submitting the document for printing, an option is provided to the user to select an alternate media size to be used for printing the document. The document, the one or more print parameters along with the alternate media size as selected by the user are sent to a printer. Before printing the document, a count of the primary media size sheets available with the printer is estimated. Based on the estimated count, the document is printed with the alternate media size sheets.
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes first and second processors. The first processor controls a transport device transporting a sheet and a first image forming section forming an image on the sheet. The second processor controls a second image forming section forming an image on the sheet. If an image is to be formed at the second section, the first processor transmits, to the second processor, a preparation command. Then upon receipt and completed preparation in the second section, the second processor transmits a completion notification to the first processor. Then, the first processor causes the first section to perform image formation preparation and causes the transport device to transport the sheet if an image is to be formed at the first section, or causes the transport device to transport the sheet without causing the first section to perform the preparation if an image is not to be formed there.
Abstract: An extruder has a valve assembly configured to move pins to open and close the nozzles in a multi-nozzle extruder head independently. The pins of the valve assembly that are driven by actuators into and out of engagement with nozzles in the extruder head are positioned within sleeves that extend between the valve assembly and the extruder head. A gap is provided between the extruder head and the end of the sleeves proximate the extruder head to enable thermoplastic material leaking from the extruder that contacts the pins to remain in a melted or plastic state so the thermoplastic material does not interfere with the movement of the pins.
