    Abstract: This instant disclosure provides a fuel cell power generation system including a PSA (pressure swing adsorption) oxygen generator, an hydrogen device and a fuel cell device. The PSA oxygen generator has an oxygen storing unit for storing oxygen, and the PSA oxygen generator is for generating oxygen. The hydrogen device has a hydrogen storing unit for storing hydrogen, and the electrolysis and catalysis is for generating hydrogen. The fuel cell device is connected to the PSA oxygen generator and the hydrogen device to make electrochemical reaction of oxygen generated from the PSA oxygen generator and the hydrogen generated from the hydrogen device for outputting electrical power.

    Abstract: The invention discloses a method for production of polyhydroxybutyrate-co-polyhydroxyvalerate (PHBV) by recombinant Escherichia coli harboring plasmid containing both phaCAB and prpE. Different percentage of hydroxyvalerate can be obtained from the recombinant E. coli when cultivated in the medium containing different concentrations of propionic acid. In this patent, we provide a method that integrated all of the genes (i.e. phaCAB, vgb and prpE) required for PHBV production into a single plasmid. The plasmids were then transformed into an E. coli host. Results showed that PHBV can be produced by this recombinant E. coli, and the ration of HV to HB in the co-polymers can be regulated by addition of different concentrations of propionic acid in the medium. The percentage of HV in the co-polymers can be adjusted from about 3% up to more than 35%.

    Abstract: The spirit of the present invention is to vary the step size parameter in accordance with the error signal and the output acoustic signal, wherein the filter is easy to implement, nonparametric VSS-NLMS algorithm which employs the mean-square error and the estimated system noise power to control the step-size update. The new nonparametric VSS-NLMS algorithm has been shown to perform with fast convergence rate, good tracking, and low mis-adjustment. In comparison with existing VSS-NLMS algorithms, the proposed algorithm has demonstrated consistently superior performance both in convergence and for final error level relative to published algorithms in application on both simulated data and real speech data.

    Abstract: An oxygen sensing device with capability of storing energy and releasing energy including an oxygen sensing unit, a gas storing unit, and a control unit. The oxygen sensing unit includes a solid oxide electrolyte disposed between two conductive catalyst layers. The control unit includes a power source, a voltmeter, and a power output circuit. The power source provides electrical power to these conductive catalyst layers of the oxygen sensing unit to process a catalytic reaction and generate hydrocarbons for being stored in the gas storing unit. The voltmeter senses a voltage generated by the oxygen sensing unit when the oxygen sensing unit senses oxygen. The oxygen sensing unit makes the hydrocarbons stored in the gas storing unit and oxygen process a chemical reaction for generating electrical power to the power output circuit. The oxygen sensing unit uses the power source to generate hydrogen or syngas.

    Abstract: The embodiment of the present invention relates to a method for suppressing Kirkendall voids formation in a solder joint. A solder alloy doped with 0.1˜0.7 weight percent (wt. %) of palladium (Pd) is utilized. Before soldering, the solder alloy is disposed on a copper (Cu) pad, possibly treated with a surface finish. Subsequently, the solder alloy is joined with the Cu pad, so as to form the solder joint with a Cu/Cu3Sn/(Cu,Pd)6Sn5/solder structure. The formation of Kirkendall voids at the Cu/Cu3Sn interface is greatly suppressed in the presence of Pd in the solder. As the amount of Pd doped is minimal, the properties and the processing conditions for soldering are not changed to a large extent, and the mechanical reliability of the solder joint is significantly improved. Therefore, the present invention is suitable for the microelectronic packaging applications.

    Abstract: A method for synthesizing polyhydroxyalkanoate using a microorganism includes providing a Ralstonia eutropha strain; providing a fermentation tank and adding crude glycerol into the fermentation tank; adding a nitrogen source into the fermentation tank to adjust a carbon to nitrogen (C/N) ratio to 20:1 to 150:1; controlling temperature of the fermentation tank to a temperature ranging from 20 to 45° C.; adding 5 to 20% by volume of the Ralstonia eutropha strain into the fermentation tank using a mixing speed of from 100 to 500 rpm, an aeration quantity of 0.5-2 vvm and a concentration of dissolved oxygen of 30 to 80%; fermenting contents of the fermentation tank for 48 to 96 hours to allow the Ralstonia eutropha strain to proliferate and to allow polyhydroxyalkanoate to be synthesized from the crude glycerol within cells of the Ralstonia eutropha strain; and disrupting the cells of the Ralstonia eutropha strain and extracting polyhydroxyalkanoate.

    Abstract: A human body balance signals measuring system and the method of analysis thereof that has a measuring device, a filter amplifier, an A/D convertor (analog to digital convertor), a signal receiving module, and a data analyze module. The measuring device is linked with the filter amplifier. The filter amplifier can detect and collect the voltage signals caused by pressure change and then filter and amplify the signals. The signals are send to the A/D convertor to convert the analog circuit signals into digital signals for the receiving module to use these voltage change values for human body center of gravity offset evaluation to obtain the COP (center of pressure) offset and COP offset velocity. The data analyze module uses the measured body center of gravity offset for MSE (multiscale entropy) to quantitative the dynamic of human body center of gravity and verify the accuracy of this measuring system.

    Abstract: A method for controlling the beta-tin crystal orientation in solder joints is provided. The method is suitable for joining metallization pads using a solder containing tin and silver. By adjusting the silver content in the solder within a specific range of equal to or more than 2.5 wt. % and less than 3.2 wt. %, the [001] axes of beta-tin crystals in the solder is aligned to be in the direction parallel with a solder/metallization pad interface substantially. Electromigration-induced solder deformations and metallization pad consumption can be significantly reduced when solder joints have such a microstructure. Additionally, the undesired Ag3Sn plates in the solder matrix can be avoided accordingly.

    Abstract: A biodegradable polymer and its manufacturing method are disclosed. The biodegradable polymer comprises high molecular weight polymer and degradation enhancing polymeric additive. The degradation enhancing polymeric additive is a low molecular weight poly-3-hydroxybutyrate that has a weight-average molecular weight in the range of 50˜2500 g/mole and it can occupies 5%˜30% of the total weight percentage of the biodegradable polymer. The biodegradable polymer and the method for manufacturing the same produce unsaturated compounds of crotonic acid oligomer, which is a low molecular weight poly-3-hydroxybutyrate used as a degradation enhancing polymeric additive, through the degradation process of PHB material and then blend it into high molecular weight polymer. By using its property of easily being degraded by bacteria, the biodegradability and bio-compatibility of the general high molecular weight polymer can be improved.
