  • Patent number: 6062830
Abstract: A diaphragm type damper has a combined member, which is formed by welding a marginal portion of a diaphragm to a half body having a concave portion formed therein, and is fixed to a pressure chamber portion to which high pressure fluid is introduced. A wall thickness of a welding portion of the half body is not relevant to welding, and the heat capacity of the welding portion is small. Since the half body is allowed to have a large wall thickness, leakage from the welding portion and damage to that portion can be prevented. In addition, the diaphragm type damper of this present invention can be easily assembled, since it requires only fixing the combined member to the pressure chamber portion.

  • Patent number: 6056525
Abstract: There is provided a vane compressor which prevents leakage of refrigerant gas by decreasing the number of airtight interfaces between component parts and prevents seizure from occurring between its rotor and its side block without surface treatment of the side block. The vane compressor has a cam ring. The rotor is rotatably received in the cam ring. A first head is secured to one end face of the cam ring. A second head is secured to another end face of the cam ring in a manner such that the second head closes an opening of the another end face of the cam ring and one end face of the rotor can be brought into contact with the second head. The side block is received in the first head in a manner such that it closes an opening of the one end face of the cam ring and another end face of the rotor can be brought into contact with the side block.

  • Patent number: 6055957
Abstract: A method for carrying out fuel injection using a variable nozzle hole type fuel injection nozzle and a jerk type fuel injection pump. The variable nozzle hole type fuel injection nozzle has in its tip a well formed by an enclosing wall in which are provided a number of nozzle holes (35). A rotary valve (7) rotatable by an actuator (9) is disposed in the well and has fuel passages (73) so provided in the same number as the nozzle holes (35) that the fuel passages (73) can be connected with the nozzle holes (35) to a degree which varies with the angle of the rotary valve (7). A non-injection period in the rotation of the jerk type fuel injection pump B is detected using an encoder pulse and when the jerk type fuel injection pump B is rotating at high speed the angle of the rotary valve (7) is changed in steps until the rotary valve (7) reaches a target angle (.theta.D) corresponding to a required nozzle hole area by the actuator (9) being driven a required number of times only in the non-injection period.

  • Patent number: 6053243
Abstract: When forming a circular tube-shaped header pipe by rolling a plate material, surfaces extending at a right angle to the internal and external surfaces of the plate material are formed at the two side edges extending in the lengthwise direction, and the plate material is rolled in such a manner that the two side edges face opposite each other while setting the two side edges in a non-contact state. In this process, the gap between the two side edges is set at or less than 0.3 mm. In order to manufacture this header pipe, a plate material that has been cut to a specific length is trimmed in the direction of its short side to achieve a specific dimension and also at a right angle to the front and rear surfaces of the plate material. After a piping insertion hole is formed, the entirety of the plate material is rolled so that its cross section achieves a U-shape.

  • Patent number: 6047948
Abstract: The fuel injection nozzle according to the present invention comprises a nozzle body provided with nozzle holes, a needle valve that opens and closes the nozzle holes, an armature that is mechanically linked with the needle valve and a stator that faces opposite the armature, so that, by displacing the stator with a micromotor, the lift quantity of the needle valve can be adjusted. In addition, a cover member that rotates slidably around the circumference of the nozzle body is provided and by causing this cover member to rotate with a micromotor, the opening area of the nozzle hole contributing to injection is varied. With these structural features, it becomes possible to intentionally achieve a desired injection pattern.

  • Patent number: 6045337
Abstract: There is provided a clutchless variable capacity swash plate compressor. A valve element is arranged at an intermediate portion of a refrigerant inlet passage, for increasing and decreasing an opening area of the intermediate portion. An urging member urges the valve element in a direction of a large valve opening position in which the opening area is large. An accumulator accumulates the high-pressure refrigerant gas therein to build up pressure for urging the valve element in a direction of a small valve opening position in which the opening area is small. When suction pressure of the suction refrigerant gas is high, a pilot valve closes to inhibit the supply of a high-pressure refrigerant to the accumulator to thereby bring the valve element to the large valve opening position, whereas when the suction pressure is low, the pilot valve opens to permit the supply of the high-pressure gas to the accumulator to bring the valve element to the small valve opening position.

  • Patent number: 6016964
Abstract: An air-mix door control device for an automobile air-conditioning system home-position-sets the air-mix door for the full-hot position or the full-cool position when it is necessary to control an air-mix door for a new target opening position other than a full-hot position or a full-cool position under a condition that an opening position detecting unit for detecting an opening position of the air-mix door causes a trouble. Also, the air-mix door control device calculates a reverse drive time required for reversely driving the air-mix door from the home-position-set position to the new target opening position so as to correct a time error derived from a torque variation of an air-mix door motor actuator due to a battery voltage. Thus, the air-mix door control device reversely drives the air-mix door according to the reverse drive time and controls the air-mix door for the new target opening position.

  • Patent number: 6015336
Abstract: A grinding apparatus according to the present invention grinds a work having a plurality of non-circular work faces to be worked with a grindstone driven by a motor. The work faces are disposed at intervals. Distances between a grindstone unit, bearings and a gear train which are adjacent to each other, are substantially equal to a distance between adjacent work faces of the work. The gear train and the bearings can be respectively positioned between the adjacent work faces of the work in grinding. Therefore, it is possible to prevent interference of the gear train and the bearings with the work faces other than the work face which is being ground by the grinding wheel by a simple structure.

  • Patent number: 6004106
Abstract: In a distributor type fuel injection pump and a power transmission pump for transmitting power to the fuel injection pump, when a rotation system member of the injection pump is seized if anything should happen, only an injection pump is damaged to thereby greatly reduce damage to an engine. To this end, an annular groove is provided in a rotor to which power from the engine is transmitted, and the annular groove constitutes a frail portion of the rotor. The annular groove is positioned along the rotor so that all or most of the sliding portions of the rotor are located on a side of the groove opposite to a power supply side. When seizure occurs in the sliding portions of the rotor to prevent rotation, the rotor is twisted off at the annular groove by the power from the engine, so that rotation of a power supply side portion of the rotor is not prevented.

  • Patent number: 6002105
Abstract: A first PTC heater and a second PTC heater are provided at the downstream side of a heater core that uses engine cooling water for its heat source, and the second PTC heater is positioned at a foot outlet. Under conditions that require the use of the PTC heaters, power is supplied to all the PTC heaters if the discharge mode is set to a FOOT mode or a DEF/FOOT mode, whereas power is supplied only to the first PTC heater if the discharge mode is set to a DEFROST mode. In an air conditioning control apparatus for vehicles provided with a heater core and PTC heaters, warm air at appropriate temperatures can be supplied through both the foot outlet and the defrost outlet during an initial stage of heating in which the temperature of the engine cooling water is low. In addition, since no power is supplied to the second PTC heater unless the foot outlet is open, energy resources are saved.
