  • Patent number: 11240702
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for providing on-demand quality of service guarantees in a wireless network environment. The system determines an on-demand quality of service for a segment of a communication path between a user equipment communicating with a radio access network connected to a core network and an external network connected to the core network. The system then determines if the on-demand quality of service for the segment meets a quality of service requirement. If the on-demand quality of service for the segment does not meet the quality of service requirement, the system identifies an alternate communication path between the user equipment and the external network, wherein the alternate communication path differs from the communication path. The system can then setup the alternate communication path for traffic between the user equipment and the external network.

  • Patent number: 11240843
Abstract: The disclosed subject matter is directed towards a clear channel assessment procedure based on a common preamble, such as for use with 3GPP and IEEE 802.11 technologies, or any other radio technology, including for use in the 6 GHz band. Detection of the common preamble is based on detecting known sequences in signal part, which can be detected without decoding the preamble's payload (channel) part to determine an ongoing transmission's duration. If an ongoing transmission is detected, subsequent energy detection monitoring is performed to determine when transmission ends, which can use a different energy detection threshold from what is used in the initial clear channel assessment's energy detection. The technology facilitates the usage of different sampling rates by different radio technologies that work concurrently in the same unlicensed band, by correlating a received preamble with a stored preamble that accounts for deterministic distortions arising from the different sampling rates.

Abstract: Architectures and techniques are presented that can provide point-to-point analysis to generate an improved signal strength prediction (SSP) based on, e.g., earth surface image data processing and analysis to draw conclusions of line of sight (LOS) along the propagation path between a BTS or another AP transmitter and CPE receiver. For example, USGS image data and/or elevation data of locations are identified to correspond to signal propagation between the transmitter and receiver can be analyzed for LOS signal quality at a fixed location, in addition to the statistical model prediction of the RF signal quality. As a result, foliage or terrain that obstructs the LOS can be identified and utilized to improve SSP by eliminating the additional pathloss due to LOS obstructions. Such can provide a significant improvement to SSP results that are conventionally predicted by statistical models rather than a point-to-point analysis.

Environmental data from an environment of the device is collected. The device determines whether the address corresponds to a communication recipient for which the environmental data is to be sent to supplement the communication session. A request for the communication session is placed based on the address, and the communication session is established upon answer of the request. The environmental data is sent over the wireless network and to the communication recipient after establishing the communication session with the communication recipient and determining that the address corresponds to the communication recipient for which the environmental data is to be sent to supplement the communication service.

  • Patent number: 11234251
Abstract: Aspects of the technology described herein are directed towards using generic control information in a three-party wireless communication system to schedule a data transmission and reception of the data transmission. A scheduler node transmits the generic control information, comprising identification information that identifies a user equipment device as a transmitter node, and scheduling information that schedules a data transmission. For unicast data transmissions, the generic control information further identifies a receiver node, and can schedule transmission of an ACK/NACK from the receiver node corresponding to receiving the data transmission. A control procedure can be configured in a user equipment device by linking a channel configuration dataset to a resource configuration dataset, which in turn is linked to a channel transmit and receive configuration dataset. Reconfiguration is achieved by changing the linking(s) between one or more different available datasets.
