Abstract: The invention concerns a double-motion circuit breaker comprising primary and secondary movable contacts slidingly mounted within primary and secondary holders, wherein the primary movable contact comprises a tulip and a contact cylinder attached thereto, and the secondary movable contact comprises a pin for engaging the tulip but no counter-contact for engaging the contact cylinder. The circuit breaker also has a non-linear linkage mechanism with a pin and slot mechanism, and a fixed dielectric shield provided on the secondary holder. During disconnection, the linkage mechanism is preferably arranged to move the pin more than the tulip, proportionally to their maximum stroke, so as to quickly bring the pin tip within the fixed dielectric shield, whereafter the tulip moves more than the pin. This circuit breaker is cheaper, lighter and can be disconnected more quickly.

Abstract: A power conversion system for mobile power generation and support is configured to be adaptable to different, time-varying mission requirements, system statuses, environmental contexts, and for different power sources and power loads. Adaptability includes real-time, on-the-fly adaptation from DC-to-AC, AC-to-DC, AC-to-AC, and DC-to-DC conversion; adaptations from buck conversion to boost conversation; and from current source conversion mode to voltage source conversion mode. In an embodiment, individual internal power stages for one or more power electronics building blocks are equipped with multiple internal current routing switches/contactors. Current flow may be dynamically re-routed along different current paths associated with an H-bridge of each power stage. Alternative current routings allow for the introduction or removal of inductors at critical points along the current path. Such on-the-fly current rerouting, at the power transistor level, enables the adaptability of the power converter.

Abstract: A system and method preserves raw vibration data for a physical event involving a transport vehicle such as a helicopter, plane, boat, car, or truck. The event may involve unexpected mechanical stresses on the vehicle. The system and method preserves raw vibration data for parts of the transport vehicle, such as from multiple points along the drive train. The preserved raw vibration data includes data from time prior to the physical event. In an embodiment, the system and method continuously detects vibration data, and stores the most recent vibration data in a circular memory buffer. The buffer is continually updated with the most current vibration data. When an event is automatically detected or manually triggered, the most recently saved vibration data is transferred from the buffer to permanent storage, along with vibration data obtained subsequent to the event. This allows for a more thorough post-event analysis.
