  • Publication number: 20090251080
Abstract: A device and method for matching the rates of speed at which an electric motor that is drivingly connected to a worm gear raises and lowers a window in an automobile power window assembly. By axially displacing the motor's armature, and/or by varying the thread and tooth profiles of the worm and the gear, the amount of torque produced by the motor and transmitted through the worm gear can be altered. In order to compensate for the effect of gravity on the motor load and on the window's speed of ascent and descent, more torque is provided when the window is being raised and less torque is provided when the window is being lowered.

  • Publication number: 20080192948
Abstract: An active noise control system cancels vibration and noise based on an output from an adaptive notch filter. When the difference between a current engine pulse value input to the adaptive notch filter and a past engine pulse value within a predetermined time period exceeds a predetermined level, an engine pulse monitor turns off a switch to stop the output from the adaptive notch filter. As a result, when there is a sudden change in the engine rpm, the output from the adaptive notch filter is stopped before the renewal speed of the adaptive notch filter coefficient becomes too fast to follow and the coefficient diverges, to prevent generation of abnormal sound. With this active noise control system, the user will not hear any abnormal sound from the adaptive notch filter even when there is a sudden change in the engine pulse.

Abstract: A process of producing a maraging steel includes melting a steel of a defined composition, casting the molten steel to obtain a steel ingot, hot forging the steel ingot at a forging ratio of at least 4, then soaking the forged piece one or more times to keep the forged piece in a temperature range of 1100-1280° C. for 10-100 hours, and then plastic working the forged piece. A process of producing a maraging steel of another defined composition includes casting the molten steel to obtain a steel ingot with a defined taper, a defined height to diameter ratio and a defined flatness ratio and plastic working the steel ingot so that the size of a nonmetallic inclusion is 30 ?m or less expressed as the diameter of a circle of circumference equal to the perimeter (“circumference”) of the inclusion.

Abstract: A fuel cell which can self-heat in a short time, in which no reaction gas is necessary for combustion, thereby improving the starting performance at low temperatures. The fuel cell comprises a cell structure in which an anode and a cathode are provided on either side of a solid polymer electrolyte membrane. This cell structure has a power generation plane and at least a part of the generation plane is defined as a local generation area so as to locally generate power. The fuel cell may include a pair of separators between which the cell structure is placed, and a reaction gas passage may be formed between the cell structure and each separator. One of a system for supplying a reaction gas to only a part of the reaction gas passage, and a system for supplying a reaction gas to the entire reaction gas passage is switchably selected.
