Abstract: A method, computer program product, and computer system for generating a timing sequence for activating resources linked through time dependency relationships. A Direct Acyclic Graph (DAG) includes nodes and directed edges. Each node represents a unique resource and is a predefined Recovery Time Objective (RTO) node or an undefined RTO node. Each directed edge directly connects two nodes and represents a time delay between the two nodes. The nodes are topologically sorted to order the nodes in a dependency sequence of ordered nodes. A corrected RTO is computed for each ordered node after which an estimated RTO is calculated as a calculated RTO for each remaining undefined RTO node. The ordered nodes in the dependency sequence are reordered according to an ascending order of the corrected RTO of the ordered nodes to form a timing sequence for activating the unique resources represented by the multiple nodes.

Abstract: A three dimensional integrated circuit (3D-IC) structure, method of manufacturing the same and design structure thereof are provided. The 3D-IC structure includes two chips having a dielectric layer, through substrate vias (TSVs) and pads formed on the dielectric layer. The dielectric layer is formed on a bottom surface of each chip. Pads are electrically connected to the corresponding TSVs. The chips are disposed vertically adjacent to each other. The bottom surface of a second chip faces the bottom surface of a first chip. The pads of the first chip are electrically connected to the pads of the second chip through a plurality of conductive bumps. The 3D-IC structure further includes a thermal via structure vertically disposed between the first chip and the second chip and laterally disposed between the corresponding conductive bumps. The thermal via structure has an upper portion and a lower portion.

Abstract: A method is provided in which a substrate including various materials of different fracture toughness (KIc) can be spalled in a controlled manner. In particular, a surface step region is formed within a surface portion of the substrate prior to formation of a stressor layer. The presence of the surface step region within the surface portion of the substrate controls the depth and ease at which crack initiation occurs within the substrate.

Abstract: Cooling apparatuses and coolant-cooled electronic assemblies are provided which include a thermal transfer structure configured to couple to one or more sides of an electronics card having one or more electronic components to be cooled. The thermal transfer structure includes a thermal spreader and at least one coolant-carrying channel associated with the thermal spreader to facilitate removal of heat from the thermal spreader to coolant flowing through the coolant-carrying channel(s). The cooling apparatus further includes a coolant manifold structure disposed adjacent to a socket of the electronic system within which the electronics card operatively docks, and a fluidic and mechanical attachment mechanism which facilitates selective, fluidic and mechanical coupling or decoupling the thermal transfer structure and coolant manifold structure, the attachment mechanism facilitating the flow of coolant between the coolant manifold structure and the coolant-carrying channel(s) of the thermal transfer structure.

Abstract: A trench contact silicide is formed on an inner wall of a contact trench that reaches to a buried conductive layer in a semiconductor substrate to reduce parasitic resistance of a reachthrough structure. The trench contact silicide is formed at the bottom, on the sidewalls of the trench, and on a portion of the top surface of the semiconductor substrate. The trench is subsequently filled with a middle-of-line (MOL) dielectric. A contact via may be formed on the trench contact silicide. The trench contact silicide may be formed through a single silicidation reaction with a metal layer or through multiple silicidation reactions with multiple metal layers.

A grabber service in a cloud management computing device in a private network behind the enterprise firewall monitors a placeholder in a file system of a marketplace server. Responsive to the grabber service finding a cloud asset deployment job stored in the placeholder, the grabber service retrieves the cloud asset deployment job. The cloud asset deployment job comprises logic for deploying a cloud asset. The mechanism downloads the cloud asset from a cloud asset repository to a cache behind the enterprise firewall according to the cloud asset deployment job. The mechanism deploys the cloud asset according to the cloud asset deployment job.

Abstract: A method of forming a FinFET structure which includes forming fins on a semiconductor substrate; forming a gate wrapping around at least one of the fins, the gate having a first surface and an opposing second surface facing the fins; depositing a hard mask on a top of the gate; angle implanting nitrogen into the first and second surfaces of the gate so as to form a nitrogen-containing layer in the gate that is below and in direct contact with the hard mask on top of the gate; forming spacers on the gate and in contact with the nitrogen-containing layer; and epitaxially depositing silicon on the at least one fin so as to form a raised source/drain. Additionally, an error descriptor may be created from the error log. A globally unique identifier may be assigned to the error descriptor, and both the error descriptor and the globally unique identifier may be broadcast to each other controller node among the plurality of controller nodes.

Abstract: A method for operating a fused-multiply-add pipeline in a floating-point unit of a processor is disclosed. A multiplication is initially performed between a first operand and a second operand in a multiplier block to obtain a set of partial product results. The partial product results are sent to a carry-save adder block. A partial product reduction is performed on the partial product results to generate a carry-save result having a sum term and a carry term. The carry-save result is then formatted to generate a carry-out bit. The carry-save result is added to a third operand to generate a final result.

Upon determining the median tape head amplitude is below the threshold value during the calibration operation, a reference MR bias and a MR bias range is dynamically adjusted, during the calibration operation, for increasing the median tape head amplitude.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention relate to synchronizing multicast groups of a virtual machine during migration of the virtual machine. A first list and a second list, indicating multicast groups corresponding to the first port and second port respectively, are obtained in response to detection of migration of the virtual machine from a first port to a second port of a same switch. The second list is updated so that the second list contains the multicast groups in the first list. An undesired multicast group is aged. Multicast groups of a virtual machine may be synchronized in the process of migration of the virtual machine, thereby reducing or removing the time during which the virtual machine multicast service is disrupted.

Abstract: An approach is provided in which the approach maps first parts included in a first system to second parts included in a second system. The approach then utilizes functioning first parts returns data, which indicates an amount of parts included in the first system that have been returned and are functioning, to forecast an amount of functioning parts corresponding to the second system to be returned. Abstract: An approach for managing a data package is provided. Network utilization is determined to exceed a threshold. A sender computer determines a hash digest of the data package by using a hash function selected based on central processing unit utilization. If the hash digest is in a sender hash table, then without sending the data package, the sender computer sends the hash digest and an index referring to the hash digest so that a recipient computer can use the index to locate a matching hash digest and the data package in a recipient hash table. If the hash digest is not in the sender hash table, then the sender computer adds the data package and the hash digest to the sender hash table and sends the data package and the hash digest to the second computer to check the integrity of the data package based on the hash digest.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product are provided for implementing client based throttled error logging in a computer system. A log governor, controlled by a client of a log manager, prevents the flooding of the logs, identifies how many repetitive logs have been suppressed, and is tailored such that log suppression requirements are enabled to be specified for each individual log. A space required for the log governor features or log governing information is allocated in the client.
