Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for advertisement distribution using a multi-tenant on-demand database system. These mechanisms and methods for distributing advertisements using a multi-tenant on-demand database system can integrate an advertisement distribution service with the services provided by the multi-tenant on-demand database system. The ability to provide an advertisement distribution service with the services provided by the multi-tenant on-demand database system can enable the distribution of advertisements to take advantage of other data stored by and/or services provided by the multi-tenant on-demand database system.

Abstract: A multi-tenant computer system implements a platform for providing data protection scopes to shared infrastructure services according to a nested tenant model that permits a hierarchy having a plurality of levels. The multi-tenant computer system provisions data protection scopes for cloud products, service products, cloud product tenants, service products operating in the context of cloud products, service products operating in the context of cloud product tenants, and combinations of the foregoing.

Abstract: Network request data is collected over a time window. The network request data is filtered to generate bypass network traffic records. Network performance categories are generated from the bypass network traffic records. Sufficient statistics of network optimization parameters are calculated for the network performance categories. The sufficient statistics of the network optimization parameters are used to generate network optimization parameters to determine data download performances of web applications.

Abstract: Some database systems may implement encryption services to improve the security of data stored in databases or on disks. The systems may implement encryption using multiple encryption keys. For example, a worker server may implement a system call interceptor, such as a filesystem in userspace (Fuse) driver. The system call interceptor may intercept system calls (e.g., associated with query or extract, transform, and load (ETL) jobs) as they enter or exit the kernel. The system call interceptor may determine whether data sets associated with the jobs are marked for encryption, and may perform an encryption process on the data sets. A worker may encrypt and store data sets on a worker disk or at a file store, or may retrieve and decrypt the data sets. The system may additionally manage encryption keys, and may provide mechanisms for archiving or revoking encryption keys while maintaining user access to stored data sets.

Abstract: A mobile application development environment may be maintained in association with a computing platform. A request to produce a binary of a first mobile application may be processed. The binary and a package configurable to cause the binary to have code-sign credentials associated with a first organization when the binary is uploaded to a mobile application provider may be produced. Abstract: Disclosed is a system for managing content generated by bots for presentation to a user in association with a chat application. The system receives content items generated by bots monitoring a chat application for display to a user at a user interface (UI) of the chat application. The system provides input based on the received one or more content items and associated contextual information to a trained machine learning (ML) model, and receives, from the trained ML model, for each of the content items, at least one score value based on at least one predicted user response associated with potentially displaying the content item to the user at the UI. The system selects a subset of content items from the received content items based on the received score values and causes a display of this selected subset of content items in addition to a display of content generated by the chat application.

Abstract: A method for data processing that includes receiving, from a service that manages communications between a communication process flow management service and a communication platform, a request indicating metadata from the communication platform, information associated with a tenant of a multi-tenant system, a user identifier, or a combination thereof. The method may further include performing, based on the request, one or more actions on a communication process flow that controls electronic communications between the tenant and a set of users corresponding to the tenant. The method may further include generating a data object related to the communication process flow based on performing the one or more actions. Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method and computer readable storage medium for enabling access control to be performed on messages received in a first-party (corporate) data center from a third-party (cloud) data center. Based on a received update request from an update service in the third-party (cloud) data center, an access control system (“ACL”) controller generates an ACL entry for enabling access to a first-party (corporate) data center from a system, within the third-party data center where a system configuration change was performed by a cloud platform. The ACL controller then transmits the ACL entry to one or more devices within the first-party data center, enabling access from the updated system hosted in the third-party data center.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for a dynamic email content engine. An embodiment operates by selecting a subscriber record from a database. The embodiment adds, i.e., stores, a first content item to a content pool based on a first rule in a set of rules, wherein the first rule is applied based on a characteristic of the content item or a persona record assigned to the subscriber record. The embodiments adds, i.e., stores, a second content item to the content pool based on a second rule in the set of rules. The embodiment ranks the first content item and the second content item in the content pool based on a first priority value and a second priority value. The embodiment assigns the first content item to the subscriber record based on the ranking.

Abstract: An online system generates a set of content item variations for a reference content item that include different styles of text for the content item. The different styles of text are generated by applying machine-learned style transfer models, for example, neural network based models to reference text of the reference content item. The text variations retain the textual content of the reference text but are synthesized with different styles. The online system can provide the content item variations to users on an online experimental platform to collect user interaction information that may indicate how users respond to different styles of text. The online system or the content providers can effectively target users with content items that include the style of text the users respond to based on the collected information.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to servicing search requests based on index information stored in a storage shared between multiple search servers. In some embodiments, a first search server maintains a local cache including index information usable to service received search requests and synchronizes the local cache with the shared storage. The synchronizing includes retrieving, from the shared storage, metadata indicative of the index information in the shared storage and determining, based on the metadata, whether the index information in the local cache differs from the shared storage. In response to determining that the index information in the local cache differs from the index information in the shared storage, the first search server updates the index information in the local cache with the index information in the shared storage. The first search server may then provide one or more search results determined using the updated index information.

Abstract: A method for data processing that includes receiving an indication of a configuration for a first action of a communication process flow that controls electronic communications between a tenant of a multi-tenant system and a first set of users associated with the tenant. The method further includes associating, within a storage location associated with the tenant, a unique identifier with metadata that defines the configuration. The method further includes receiving a request to apply the configuration to a second action of a communication process flow that controls electronic communications between the tenant and a second set of users associated with the tenant. The request may indicate the unique identifier associated with the metadata. The method further includes retrieving the metadata from the storage location using the unique identifier indicated by the request. The method further includes applying the configuration to the second action using the retrieved metadata.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for weakly supervised natural language localization (WSNLL), for example, as implemented in a neural network or model. The WSNLL network is trained with long, untrimmed videos, i.e., videos that have not been temporally segmented or annotated. The WSNLL network or model defines or generates a video-sentence pair, which corresponds to a pairing of an untrimmed video with an input text sentence. According to some embodiments, the WSNLL network or model is implemented with a two-branch architecture, where one branch performs segment sentence alignment and the other one conducts segment selection. These methods and systems are specifically used to predict how a video proposal matches a text query using respective visual and text features.

Abstract: Centralized channel management of a set group-based communication system is described. A channel management interface, of the group-based communication system, can be presented via a client of a user associated with a first organization, wherein the channel management interface includes communication channels associated with the first organization, wherein at least a first communication channel is associated with the first organization and a second organization, and wherein at least a second communication channel is associated with the first organization and a third organization. A request can be received via the channel management interface to initiate a channel management action associated with at least one of the first communication channel or the second communication channel and in response to receiving the request to initiate the channel management action, data associated with at least one of the first communication channel or the second communication channel can be updated.

A first database is generated for a client device and a client identifier of the client device is stored in association with the first database. A delta between database records stored in the first database and the data is generated. A database message is generated and transmitted to the client device, where the database message indicates the delta and includes a client directive pertaining to updating the first database according to the delta.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for creating an enterprise data model that defines entities and relationships between the entities spanning multiple environments and for deploying and maintaining artifacts across the environments using metadata specified in the enterprise data model. By embedding metadata that describes foreign key references within an enterprise data model, a unifying enterprise data model may manage artifacts across multiple domains while implementing a physical, cross-domain, data architecture. Such an enterprise data model may provide an organization with a 360-degree view of the information harnessed across the organization's technical landscape and may allow the organization to easily rollout a comprehensive data warehousing solution.

Abstract: A method that includes establishing an open connection for responding to requests from clients supported by an application server. The method may further include establishing a set of queues configured for storing requests received from the client via the open connection. The method may further include selecting requests from the queues based on a rate limit threshold and burst limit threshold of the application server. The rate limit threshold may refer to a number of requests that the application server can process within a first time duration, while the burst limit threshold may refer to a number of requests that the application server can process within a second time duration that is shorter than the first time duration. The method may further include transmitting the requests to a set of data processing servers connected to the application server and receiving an indication that the requests have been processed.

Abstract: The system described herein may utilize a data stream connection to detect that a new message is transmitted between users. The system may perform various pre-processing techniques on the new message to identify that the new message is an objection message candidate. The system may retrieve one or parent messages of the new message. The new message and the parent messages may be input into a model trained to classify objection messages. The model may identify that the new message is classified as an objection message based at least in part on processing the new message and the parent messages. An objection classification identifier may be stored in association with the new message based at least in part on the result of the processing by the model.

The computer system may store a multi-level tree data structure usable to perform key lookups for the database. A given one of the plurality of subtree data structures may be stored as a respective continuous block of information in system memory. The computer system may access the respective continuous block for a first particular subtree data structure encompassing a particular range of levels in the multi-level tree data structure. The accessing may be performed without accessing one or more other subtree data structures encompassing one or more levels within the particular range of levels.

Abstract: A self-healing build pipeline architecture for a software application build job across a distributed computer platform comprises a public API that receives configuration data describing the build job, stores the configuration data in a decentralized database, serves requests to/from a pipeline tracker API, and stores states of build pipelines during the build job. The decentralized database stores the configuration data and a project identifier for the build, and metadata regarding states of the build pipelines collected across the distributed computer platform. The pipeline tracker API runs local to the build environment in the distributed computer platform and sends a build status to public API for updating the decentralized database. For any failures in any of the build pipelines, the state is retrieved from the decentralize database and a new build pipeline is triggered locally that resumes from the failed state to provide a self-healing build pipeline architecture.

The notifications correspond to a response to an indication of an exception condition on the computing device. The response to the exception condition includes a plurality of steps, including computer-implemented steps in which data objects output a plurality of notifications for the user. These notifications are processed by a notification choreographer and used to prepare a unified status communication. The unified status communication is output to the user and depicts information corresponding to a plurality of the notifications.

Abstract: Techniques described herein may support a learned ontology or meaning for user, organization, or customer specific data. According to the techniques described herein, a set of datasets corresponding to an entity may be processed to generate a master dataset including rows that include at least a field name and a value corresponding to the field. The master dataset is processed to generate a corpus of text strings that is input into a word embedding function which generates a set of vectors based on the corpus. Because the configuration of the text string positions values by field names and field values, implicit relationships and contexts are identified within the data using the word embedding function.

Abstract: Database environments may choose to schedule complex analytics processing to be performed by specialized processing environments by caching source datasets or other data needed for the analytics and then outputting results back to customer datasets. It is complex to schedule user database operations, such as running dataflows, recipes, scripts, rules, or the like that may rely on output from the analytics, if the user database operations are on one schedule, while the analytics is on another schedule. User/source datasets may become out of sync and one or both environments may operate on stale data. One way to resolve this problem is to define triggers that, for example, monitor for changes to datasets (or other items of interest) by analytics or other activity and automatically run dataflows, recipes, or the like that are related to the changed datasets (or other items of interest).

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to contextual authentication across different applications based on user communications. In some embodiments, a user is preauthenticated to certain actions on a second application based on the user's communication via a first application. The user's communication via a first application provides contextual information that may be used to preauthenticate a request to perform an action on the second application. Contextual information may include the user's communication itself, communications characteristics that are determined from the user's communications, or both.

Abstract: Systems, devices, and techniques are disclosed for recommendations using a transformer neural network. User activity data including items and actions associated with users and a catalog including descriptions of the items may be received. User vectors for the users, item vectors for the items and action vectors the actions may be generated by applying singular vector decomposition to the user activity data. Sequence vectors may be generated based on item vectors and the action vectors. Transformer vectors may be generated by applying a text-to-text transferring transformer to descriptions of the items. Similarity vectors may be generated based on the transformer vectors. Merged vectors may be generated by merging the sequence vector, transformer vector, and similarity vector for items. A set of probabilities may be determined by inputting the user vector for the user, merged vectors for the items, and sequence vectors for the actions to a transformer neural network.

Abstract: In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for facilitating early detection and warning for system bottlenecks in an on-demand services environment according to one embodiment. In one embodiment and by way of example, a method includes detecting waits during processing of a query within a processing pipeline, wherein the waits include one or more of application-specific waits and database-specific waits; diagnosing the waits to identify a wait that has turned into a bottleneck; classifying one or more types of issues causing the wait to turn into the bottleneck; generating an alert having associated information detailing the issues based on the one or more types and a location of the wait within the processing pipeline; and transmitting the alert to facilitate correction activities.

Abstract: A method for training parameters of a first domain adaptation model. The method includes evaluating a cycle consistency objective using a first task specific model associated with a first domain and a second task specific model associated with a second domain, and evaluating one or more first discriminator models to generate a first discriminator objective using the second task specific model. The one or more first discriminator models include a plurality of discriminators corresponding to a plurality of bands that corresponds domain variable ranges of the first and second domains respectively. The method further includes updating, based on the cycle consistency objective and the first discriminator objective, one or more parameters of the first domain adaptation model for adapting representations from the first domain to the second domain.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to creating an index for a database system. In one embodiment, a database system stores data within a plurality of fields in a data table, a subset of the data being associated with a particular one of the plurality of fields. The database system receives a request to index the data table based on the particular field and analyzes the subset of the data. In response to determining, based on the analyzing, that one or more duplicate values are present in the subset of data, the database system sets, in an index table having the particular field, an indication identifying which entries of the index table have a duplicate value for the particular field, and returns a response to the request that specifies the one or more duplicate values. In some embodiments, the response includes a user interface displaying one or more duplicates values.

Abstract: Techniques and structures to facilitate identification, authentication, authorization and accounting of a computing device is disclosed. A set of supported algorithms for transmission during a secure shell (SSH) clear packet exchange is received and a cryptographic hash is performed on the set of algorithms to generate a unique fingerprint.

Abstract: Computing systems, for example, multi-tenant systems create data centers in a cloud platform using a cloud platform infrastructure language that is cloud platform independent. The system receives a cloud platform independent declarative specification describing a new datacenter to be created and a customization specification for customizing the data center. The system compiles the declarative specification along with the customization specification to generate a metadata representation of the data center. The metadata representation is used to generate a data center on a target cloud platform. Different customization specifications can be provided to generate different customized datacenters based on the same declarative specification. For example, the different customized data centers may implement different policies, for example, network policies, security policies, and so on.

Abstract: Systems and methods are described identify a database metric value associated with a database instance storing a dataset associated with a user system. A database issue is detected in view of a determination that the database metric value satisfies a condition. In response to satisfaction of the condition, a set of user action metrics associated with the user system is collected from one or more data monitoring systems. At least one notification communication is generated including at least a portion of the set of user action metrics and information identifying the database issue. The at least one notification communication is transmitted to a remediation execution system configured to execute, using the at least a portion of the set of user action metrics and information identifying the database issue, a remedial action in response to the database issue.

Abstract: A method of provisioning organization users in a multi-tenant database system includes receiving a request via a single sign-on protocol from an organization user to create a new multi-tenant database user account for access to the multi-tenant database system. The method retrieves rules that specify how to derive user permissions for access to the multi-tenant database system from stored user attributes of the organization user. The method continues with applying the rules to the stored user attributes to determine permissions for the users to access particular objects in the multi-tenant database system, and creating the new user account with the determined user permissions for access to the multi-tenant database system.

Abstract: Techniques for modifying a period of time that data, associated with a characteristic, transmitted via a communication platform is retained are described. A data retention rule can include a first period of time for retaining data transmitted via the communication platform, in association with an organization. The first user can additionally establish a specific data retention rule associated with data associated with a particular characteristic. The specific data retention rule can include an instruction to store communications including the particular characteristic for a second time period that is different from the first time period associated with the data retention rule. The communication platform can receive data from a second user computing device associated with the second user of the organization. Based on a determination that the data is associated with the characteristic, the communication platform can store the data according to the data retention rule specified for such data.

Abstract: A method for evaluating robustness of one or more target neural network models using natural typos. The method includes receiving one or more natural typo generation rules associated with a first task associated with a first input document type, receiving a first target neural network model, and receiving a first document and corresponding its ground truth labels. The method further includes generating one or more natural typos for the first document based on the one or more natural typo generation rules, and providing, to the first target neural network model, a test document generated based on the first document and the one or more natural typos as an input document to generate a first output. A robustness evaluation result of the first target neural network model is generated based on a comparison between the output and the ground truth labels.

Abstract: A system and method for customized scheduling of sources, including breaking down a source of content into at least two categories, including posts and engagements, and gathering content related to a specific source. A scheduler handles scheduling of posts and engagement for a single source and entities that are due to be crawled are sent to a scheduling queue, in which each content type for a source can have its own queue. A process points to the correct scheduler queue in order to request content to be crawled, attaches to the proper queue, processes requests, queries the social network for content, parses the response and sends any new data to be saved to the system.

Abstract: A set of data for training a machine learning system can be modified to improve its performance. An item of information can be transmitted. A message can be transmitted that includes an explanation of a determination, by the machine learning system, to transmit the item of information from among a plurality of items of information. A first set of data can have been used to train the machine learning system. A signal can be received that includes an indication of a usefulness of the message, to a user of a user device, in making a decision to perform an action based on a knowledge associated with the item of information. The first set of data can be modified, in response to a receipt of the signal, to produce a second set of data. The machine learning system can be caused to be trained using the second set of data.
