Patent number: 8594666Abstract: Provided is a technique that enables quicker detection of usable frequency bands in a cognitive radio system. Each radio communication apparatus in the system has, in common, a hash function used to obtain a frequency range from time information and location information. Each radio communication apparatus detects unused frequency bands while narrowing down a frequency range over which a detection process is performed by obtaining the terminal's own location information and current time information from GPS signals, and input them to the hash function. Since a transmitting node and a receiving node that perform a communication are at locations close to each other at the same time, they perform detection in the same frequency range. Therefore, an unused frequency band(s) that is usable by both of them can be detected. Furthermore, at different locations or at different times, the detection will be performed in different frequency ranges. Therefore efficient frequency utilization can be achieved.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2009Date of Patent: November 26, 2013Assignees: Toyota Infotechnology Center Co., Ltd., Kyushu Institute of TechnologyInventors: Onur Altintas, Yuji Oie, Masato Tsuru, Kazuya Tsukamoto

Patent number: 8593845Abstract: Provided is a converter controller capable of preventing destruction of an element such as an auxiliary switch by preventing operation interference between auxiliary circuits of respective phases in a multiphase soft switching converter. A duty threshold input unit receives, as an input, an obtained acceptable duty deviation value. A duty deviation computation unit judges whether or not the duty deviation between the phases does not exceed an acceptable duty deviation value. When the duty deviation between the phases exceeds the acceptable duty deviation value, the duty deviation computation unit corrects an adjusted U-phase duty ratio, adjusted V-phase duty ratio and adjusted W-phase duty ratio under the PID control rule, and outputs the resultant duty ratios to an FC converter control circuit.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2009Date of Patent: November 26, 2013Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Kota Manabe

Patent number: 8590288Abstract: A fan control apparatus includes a fan, two engine+compressor combinations, two air supply systems, and an FCC. When an abnormality occurs in one of the air supply systems and one of the engine+compressor combinations, the FCC maintains the flow rate of the normally operating air supply system and then increases the flow rate. As a result, the normally operating drive source is prevented from overloading. In another embodiment, a fan control apparatus includes a fan, an air source, two air supply systems, and a bypass channel. The air is caused to flow through the bypass channel when an abnormality occurs in one of the air supply systems. Publication number: 20130311077Abstract: An object determination apparatus includes: a sensing device that is mounted in a host vehicle, and that sends detection wave and receives the detection wave reflected from an object, and that detects the object; a detection unit that detects the state of reflection intensity of the detection wave received by the sensing device which changes with the distance to the object; and a determination unit that determines that the object is a vehicle other than the host vehicle when a peak of the reflection intensity exceeds a predetermined threshold value. Peaks of the reflection intensity change in accordance the distance to the object, but the peaks regarding vehicles tend to be higher than the peaks regarding on-road structures. Hence, by comparing a peak of the reflection intensity with the predetermined threshold value, it can be determined whether the detected object is a vehicle other than the host vehicle.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2013Publication date: November 21, 2013Applicant: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Hiroyasu ICHIDA

Publication number: 20130310980Abstract: A gripping device comprises: a gripping unit for gripping a work; a controller for controlling the gripping operation of the gripping unit; and contact sections attached to the gripping unit contacting the work, the contact sections being adapted to deform following the shape of the work, and to maintain the deformation. The gripping operation of the gripping unit presses the contact sections against the work to cause the contact sections to follow the outside of the work, and grips the work with the shape of the contact sections maintained. After predetermined number of times of gripping operation, the controller changes the positions of the contact points of the contact sections with the work when the work is gripped. As a result, different works having different shapes can be stably gripped and the lifetime of the contact sections can be extended to be longer than that of conventional products.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2011Publication date: November 21, 2013Applicant: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventor: Hirofumi Matsuoka
