Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to pharmaceutical packaging such as syringes, vials, and blood tubes having a thermoplastic wall that is coated with a gas barrier coating in which at least one layer is applied by atomic layer deposition. The gas barrier coating may include, for example, one or more layers of SiO2, one or more layers of Al2O3, or a combination thereof, and may serve as a barrier against a variety of gases including oxygen, water vapor, and nitrogen. The present disclosure is also directed to syringes and vials which are configured for the storage of lyophilized or cold-chain drugs and in particular to maintain container closure integrity throughout the supply and storage conditions associated with such drugs. The present disclosure is also directed to evacuated blood tubes having extended shelf lives.

Abstract: A fluid transfer device for use in medical/pharmacological applications a method of use, and a closed medicine transfer system. The fluid transfer device includes a first adapter unit having a first sealing element and a second adapter unit having a second sealing element. The first adapter unit and second adapter unit, when connected, provide a fluid connection between the first adapter unit and the second adapter unit and prevent, when disconnected, the transfer of fluid out of the first adapter unit and the second adapter unit. A fluid connection between the first adapter unit and second adapter unit is established by a combined pressing movement towards one another and a rotational movement with respect to one another, only after a constant pressure has been set which the first sealing element and the second sealing element apply against each other.

Abstract: An apparatus for facilitating dispensing of medications includes a housing comprising an interior space and an opening, a cover coupled with the housing for closing the opening, a medication holder holding a medication disposed in the interior space, a holder driving element, and an actuator for transitioning the holder driving element between positions based on a dispensing information. The housing and the cover are transitionable between a dispensing state and a non-dispensing state. The medication is dispensable through the opening in the dispensing state and not dispensable through the opening in the non-dispensing state. The medication holder includes a coupling element for movably coupling the medication holder with the holder driving element. The transitioning moves the medication holder between a non-dispensable position and a dispensable position.
Abstract: The invention is directed to a hydratable concentrated surfactant composition. The composition is pourable, easy to dilute, substantially free of sulfate and oil, comprises a C6-C14 acid, alcohol, amide or mixture thereof, anionic surfactant and an amphoteric surfactant, zwitterionic surfactant or both. The composition is in lamellar phase and thickens and transforms to an isotropic phase upon dilution. The composition is substantially free of isethionates, can be used as a concentrate in small volumes and diluted as used and needed or can be diluted with water in refill packaging to ensure a reduction in plastic waste.
