Abstract: An electrical connector includes a base having a plurality of through holes, and a plurality of conducting pins respectively located in the through holes. There is a convex block located at the side wall of the base for each of the through holes. Each of the conducting pins has an arm portion. The arm portion and the convex block are located at the same side. The arm portion has a through opening, and one end of the arm portion is bent and extended to form a contacting portion. The contacting portion has an opening that links with the through opening to form a channel that makes the convex block pass through the channel without interference. Because of the lack of interference, the conducting pin will not be damaged due to contact with the convex block when the conducting pin is installed into the through hole.

Abstract: A USB connector for connecting with a USB female comprises metal legs, a connecting line, a substrate and a rotating shaft assembly. One end of the metal legs connects with one end of the connecting line. The metal legs are formed on a surface of the substrate. The connecting line is fixed to the surface of the substrate. The rotating shaft assembly is fixed to the surface of the substrate. The present invention also provides a USB device. According to the USB connector and the USB device of the present invention, the metal legs are formed on the surface of the substrate so as to ensure the connecting strength of the metal legs. Since the size of the USB connector depends mainly on the substrate and as long as the thickness meets a requirement of inserting the USB connector into the USB female, the thickness of the USB connector and further the thickness of the USB device are reduced without compromising the function of the USB connector.
Abstract: A low power output driver includes one of a regulated reduced voltage source that receives a supply voltage and outputs a regulated reduced voltage that is a lower voltage than the supply voltage. The driver also includes a first driver input that receives a first logic signal, a second driver input that receives a second logic signal, a first driver output that outputs a first output signal and a second driver output that outputs a second output signal. The driver includes first, second, third and fourth n-type metal oxide semiconductor (NMOS) that are cross-connected between the reduced voltage and the first and second driver outputs or a constant voltage internal ground. When the second input is high, the second NMOS and the third NMOS are gated on, the second driver output is raised to the reduced voltage and the first driver output is pulled down to the constant voltage ground.

Abstract: When a predetermined operation is made of a remote commander while moving picture data read from a storage unit and decoded is being displayed on a display screen, a thumbnail of a reproduced image being displayed on the display screen and a plurality of thumbnails near the reproduced image displayed on the display screen are displayed being superposed on the reproduced image. Information on edit points indicating the position of image data corresponding to ones, designated by the remote commander, of the plurality of thumbnails displayed on the display screen is added to the moving picture data, and the data is stored into the storage unit. Thus, it is possible to set IN and OUT points as edit points elaborately and easily for edition of moving picture data.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a central (root) directory and/or network of directories to linked credit accounts. Each linked credit account accepts, or is responsive to incoming payments or credits, without the need for access numbers, account numbers, routing numbers, or the like. The payment/deposit account may be set up as a deposit only account (e.g., it cannot pay out or be debited in the traditional sense). In this way, it can be effective in eliminating many of the security requirements of a traditional financial account.

Abstract: An improved approach for managing a document having a plurality of versions is provided. For example, a scanned version of an edited hardcopy of the document is received from an image capture device and uploaded to an electronic database. The scanned version of the hardcopy of the document is linked to a previous electronic version of the document in the database as an update of the previous electronic version. A grouping of a plurality of electronic versions of the document is maintained in the database.

Abstract: An audio encoder receives multi-channel audio data comprising a group of plural source channels and performs channel extension coding, which comprises encoding a combined channel for the group and determining plural parameters for representing individual source channels of the group as modified versions of the encoded combined channel. The encoder also performs frequency extension coding. The frequency extension coding can comprise, for example, partitioning frequency bands in the multi-channel audio data into a baseband group and an extended band group, and coding audio coefficients in the extended band group based on audio coefficients in the baseband group. The encoder also can perform other kinds of transforms. An audio decoder performs corresponding decoding and/or additional processing tasks, such as a forward complex transform.
Abstract: At least one exemplary embodiment is directed to an optical unit adapted to irradiate image exposure light to an image carrier comprises a frame containing optical parts arranged therein and having an opening, and a cover adapted to cover the opening. The cover can be fixed by fixing members to the frame at three points in a first plane including the opening. The cover can further be fixed by fixing members to the frame at a second plane positioned on the frame and being adjacent to the first plane and at a third plane positioned on the frame and being not parallel to the second plane. Thus, an optical unit can be obtained which has high rigidity while, when the cover is attached to the opening, maintaining satisfactory flatness of the cover in a plane including the opening.

Abstract: A method of forming flip chip bumps includes forming a plurality of metallization pads on a die. In another step, a structured layer having pores is formed on the die and metallization pads where the pads on the die are exposed through the pores. In yet another step, the die is transferred to a chamber having a liquid metal bath. In another step, a first pressure is created within the chamber followed by dipping the die in the liquid metal bath. In another step, a second pressure is created within the chamber such that liquid metal fills portions of the pores thereby forming metal pillars connected to the pads.
