  • Patent number: 10691335
Abstract: An electronic device and method are provided for processing an input using view layers. The electronic device includes a memory, a display, and a processor. The memory stores a first predetermined condition and a second predetermined condition both of which are used for determining whether an input for one or more displayed view objects is valid. The processor displays the view objects using a first view layer and a second view layer at least partially overlapping with the first view layer, and obtains a user input regarding the displayed view object. If a movement of the user input satisfies the first predetermined condition, the processor processes the user input by using the first view layer. If the movement of the user input satisfies the second predetermined condition, the processor processes the user input by using the second view layer.

  • Patent number: 10629243
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating an overview for videos by reconstructing a representation of underlying content and linking from points in the overview to specific points in the video. Mechanisms are provided to create three different types of navigable overviews for different types of how-to and instructional videos. A two-dimensional overview is generated when content is two-dimensional, such as instructional videos on electronic whiteboard or other flat content. The three-dimensional overview is created when the content is three-dimensional, such as how-to videos illustrating the use of specific three-dimensional tangible articles. In three-dimensional case, when 3D model is available, the video segments are directly linked to corresponding points on the model. When a model is not available, a rough overview is first created from the captured video and camera orientation metadata.

  • Patent number: 10592076
Abstract: For improving a future UI design, a set of data is analyzed. A data in a first subset of the set includes (i) a description of a UI layout including a description of a UI element in a first area of a touch-sensitive device, the first area having a below a level of sensitivity, the data, and (ii) a second area of the touch-sensitive device having a second sensitivity at least equal to the level of sensitivity. A characteristic of the UI element is extracted. A threshold number of data in the first subset include some UI element with the characteristic. For a first area in each data in the subset, the characteristic is determined to cause a sensitivity to reduce to below the level of sensitivity. Accordingly, an instruction causes a UI design tool to move a UI element in the future UI design to a second area.

  • Patent number: 10552001
Abstract: Image data associated with a number of launched application windows may be streamed from a remote service to client over a network and displayed by a browser application at the client. In some examples, a control for switching between applications may be provided by the browser application and may not be included in the image data that is streamed from the remote service. In some examples, while a first application window is being displayed, the control may be selected to allow switching the display to another application window. Upon selection of this control, selectable representations, such as thumbnail images, of the launched application windows may be generated and displayed. Selection of a particular representation may cause the display to switch to an application window associated with the selected representation.

  • Patent number: 10514833
Abstract: Contextual paste target prediction is used to predict one or more target applications for a paste action, and do so based upon a context associated with the content that has previously been selected and copied. The results of the prediction may be used to present to a user one or more user controls to enable the user to activate one or more predicted application, and in some instances, additionally configure a state of a predicted application to use the selected and copied content once activated. As such, upon completing a copy action, a user may, in some instances, be provided with an ability to quickly switch to an application into which the user was intending to paste the content. This can provide a simpler user interface in a device such as phones and tablet computers with limited display size and limited input device facilities. It can result in a paste operation into a different application with fewer steps than is possible conventionally.
