  • Patent number: 11202216
Abstract: Systems and methods can support identifying pairings and channel parameters in short-range wireless communications such as bluetooth low energy interfaces. Radio frequency sensors may be positioned within an electromagnetic environment where a master wireless device and a slave wireless device share short-range wireless communications. Signals transmitted between the master wireless device and the slave wireless device can be received by the radio frequency sensors. Inter-arrival times for packets within the received signals may be identified. Statistics of the inter-arrival times can be analyzed to identify connection intervals between the master wireless device and the slave wireless device as well as back-to-back interval exchanged within the connection intervals. Packet header contents may be used to reconcile the estimated timing parameters and time slots. Pairings between the master wireless device and the slave wireless device may be identified and tracked along with communication channel parameters.

  • Patent number: 11153042
Abstract: Reducing control signaling is an effective technique for increasing resource efficiency when supporting a massive number of connections in an Internet of Things framework. In the presence of sporadic and small data packets, the use of control signaling must be optimized to not overwhelm network resources. In some embodiments, a bit map in a control signaling packet may indicate if certain information elements that correspond to configuration parameters are present or absent. When they are absent, predetermined values for the corresponding configuration parameters may be used, whereas when they are present, predefined values from a set of predefined values may be used. In other embodiments, the predetermined values may be periodically updated.

  • Patent number: 11153765
Abstract: Systems and methods to detect abnormal behavior of cell sites and/or customers are disclosed. By detecting cell site and/or customer behavior anomalies, the system enhances capacity planning by helping understand congestion, more efficiently planning event sites, suggesting installation of temporary solutions, identifying when true traffic needs are increased, and detecting abnormal customer behavior and/or demand. The system accesses historical data for a set of KPIs (e.g., 3 months of hourly data that captures traffic, users, Physical Resource Block (PRB), and throughput). The system computes, for periodic time intervals (e.g., for each hour and each day), upper and lower limits for each site and for each KPI. Using this information, the system detects anomalies for current KPI measurements. The system sends alerts when anomalies are detected for a threshold period of time (e.g., when the KPI measurement falls outside of the computed upper and/or lower bounds continuously for 2-3 hours).

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for time division based communication between a wireless device and a wireless network in a licensed radio frequency (RF) band and an unlicensed RF band are disclosed. The wireless device receives downlink control information (DCI), via a primary component carrier (PCC) of a primary cell (Pcell) in the licensed RF band, indicating downlink (DL) data transmission via a secondary component carrier (SCC) of a secondary cell (Scell) in the unlicensed RF band. The wireless device receives via the SCC part of the DL data transmission and transmits a control message via the PCC in response. The wireless device sends a scheduling request (SR) to the eNodeB and receives uplink (UL) transmission opportunities in a combination of the licensed RF band and the unlicensed RF band. The wireless device performs a clear channel assessment before reserving and transmitting to the eNodeB in the unlicensed RF band.

  • Patent number: 11102024
Abstract: Standalone MBSFN cells may provide an improved user experience for an individual with a non-legacy UE since the bandwidth of that cell is mostly allocated to broadcasting streaming services. However, an individual with a legacy UE may be able to detect cell acquisition information associated with a standalone MBSFN cell but not to acquire standalone MBSFN cells. In order to solve this problem, the present disclosure provides various UE avoidance schemes that enable non-legacy UEs to acquire a standalone MBSFN cell and prevents legacy UEs from trying to acquire a standalone MBSFN only cell. The apparatus may receive cell acquisition information associated with an eMBMS standalone cell. The apparatus may detect a UE avoidance scheme based on a characteristic associated with the cell acquisition information. The apparatus may perform cell acquisition with the eMBMS standalone cell based on the characteristic.
