    Abstract: The present disclosure discloses apparatuses, systems, and methods of wireless communication that use an adaptive hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) procedure and a multi-threaded HARQ procedure for improving HARQ buffer utilization and management. A user equipment (UE) can transmit a reset NACK to reduce the amount of HARQ buffers needed for concurrent HARQ processes. A base station can transmit different redundancy data in a HARQ retransmission depending on the types of NACK the UE transmitted. The base station can communicate with the UE using multiple light HARQ processes or threads that use less HARQ buffers than a typical HARQ procedure. The control channel order may indicate that the UE is to transmit a modified random access request to the base station. The base station may monitor for the modified random access request using different beamforming parameters in order to determine a refined beam to be used for a subsequent transmission in the random access procedure. The base station may then use the refined beam to transmit a random access response to the UE, and complete the access procedure.

Packet header contents may be used to reconcile the estimated timing parameters and time slots. Pairings between the master wireless device and the slave wireless device may be identified and tracked along with communication channel parameters.
